Celtics bounce back behind fantastic four, takes game 2
Boston, MA - Forget about the Big 3, It's the fantastic four now.
After losing game 1 to the Chicago Bulls, the defending champs bounced back in tonight's game, winning it 126-118 as the Celtics, and their four stars played a fantastic ball game.
The Fantastic Four were led by Ray Allen, who had a game high 37 points alongside 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals from 11 for 25 shooting, including 5 for 10 from beyond the arc. Allen also went 6 for 6 from the charity stripe.
Pierce added in 26 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists. Rajon Rondo had 22 points and 13 assists, while Kevin Garnett had 8 points, 7 rebounds, and a game high 7 steals as he led the Celtics defense en-route to 24 Bulls turnovers, 20 of which were Boston steals.
To top it off, Leon Powe and Eddie House combined for 25 points off the bench.
Celtics also had 23 fast break points (Bulls had 6) and 12 second chance points (again, Bulls had 6), and while they were out-rebounded 29-44, they dished out 38 assists in comparison to the Bulls' 31. The Cs had just 7 turnovers in the game and shot 24 for 27 from the charity stripe.
"This is the kind of basketball i want to see us playing" said Celtics coach Doc Rivers after the game "I was really happy about how they played today, obviously we have room for improvement, but the guys got the job done tonight, and that's the most important thing"
Chicago was led by Lamar Odom, who had an impressive performance as usual with 31 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, but he also had 5 turnovers. Rose had 22 points and 14 assists, but had the more turnovers then the entire Celtics team with 10.
"We were just careless with the ball, i mean, we got to understand that they (Celtics) are going to pressure the ball and play the passing lanes, we can't just throw the ball around" said Bulls Head Coach Vinny Del Negro after the game
The Series is now tied at 1-1, and will shift to Chicago, where the Bulls will hope to take care of business with the support of their crowd.
