EAST'S BALANCED PLAY TOO MUCH FOR WEST IN ASGBy The X20 February 2010
The Eastern Conference All-Stars had five players score in double figures (Lebron James 15, Dwight Howard 15, Josh Smith 14, Gilbert Arenas 12, Dwayne Wade 11) as they withstood a late charge by Kevin Durant (17 points off bench) and his Western Conference All-Star teammates to hold on for a 113-106 win in Dallas, Texas.
I'm glad I didn't have to pick the game's MVP, as there was no real standout. In the end, they gave it to Orlando Magic centre Dwight Howard, who was perfect from the floor on his way to 15 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. Howard narrowly beat out teammate Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks, who had 14 points off the bench in his first ever All-Star Game.
Notes: Gerald Wallace missed the game due to injury. His replacement was Washington Wizards forward Caron Butler. The Bucks' two All-Star representatives, Andrew Bogut (5 points, 5 rebounds) and rookie Brandon Jennings (5 points, 8 assists) both had solid games despite each only playing less than 15 minutes for the Eastern Conference All-Stars.
