Gordon back in lineup for the Clippers
The team announced that Eric Gordon is finally free from nagging
injuries and will return tomorrow to play Game 4 against the Houston
Rockets. Clippers are behind one game, 2-1 and may look to tie up the
series.
Gordon will take over the two guard spot that Rasual Butler has
beenfilling since the last week of March.
"I'm ready to go now, the doctors said I'm okay." Gordon said. "They are
desperately needing me in this time, we need to tie the series and
beat them."

Clippers let go almost half of their roster![]()

Los Angeles Clippers GM Justine Crewhead announced
today that they lose some of their players. The said players
were Travis Outlaw, Steve Blake, Rasual Butler,
Tony Allen, Drew Gooden, Craig Smith and
Mardy Collins. They did only resigned sharpshooter Steve Novak
for a one year deal.
"We are now on rebuilding mode, they contributed very well in the team last
season and we just made to the Playoffs." Crewhead claimed. "I wish them
good luck wherever team they will head."
The Clippers roster for now is just composed of 7 players and having a
$23M cap space, enabling them to sign big stars this summer.Wade : I'm done here in Miami
After announcing he will test free agency, Dwayne Wade said that
he will not play in Miami again this season. "All is done here, I just want
to be on a better team." Wade said.
Miami Heat failed to make to the Playoffs and may look to rebuild these
off-season having big cap space and just obtained the no. two overall pick
on the upcoming draft.LeBron to Clippers?
Yet the Cleveland Cavaliers flopped again, after losing to the
Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals this Playoffs, they will play
next season without their best player, LeBron James.
James didn't picked up his player option and may look to play elsewhere next
season. "My 7 years in Cleveland is over, I tried my very best to win the title,
but I think I can do it on other team." James said.
The most possible team James will land will be the Los Angeles Clippers. After
making to the Playoffs, Clippers proved they are now contender and can be on
a title chase if they can sign James. Other suitors are Knicks, Nets, Heat. But
the question is, will LeBron stand to play on L.A. where on the other side is the
man, Kobe Bryant? Time will tell.
Los Angeles Clippers Draft Preview (18th, 51st Overall Picks)
June 18, 2010 - 4:43 pm
Picks Owned: 18th, 51st
Areas of Need
The draft lottery has passed, the Clippers are now planning to make preparations for the 18th overall selection in the NBA Draft on June 24.
Entering the draft, the Clippers will be contractually committed to only six players (Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Blake Griffin, Chris Kaman, DeAndre Jordan and Steve Novak), so need will not be a large factor in the choice.
What the Clippers lack among their contracted players is a small forward, so the need is greater there than any place else. They have a glaring hole at the SF position and need depth throughout the roster. Wing production was a problem last year with Travis Outlaw and Rasual Butler, both of whom are free agents. The most talented SF of the draft class maybe is Al-Farouq Aminu from Wake Forest, but surely he will fall early first round.
But with enough cap room to pursue a top-flight free agent in July, the Clippers have the option to sign viable SF on the free agents list. The Clipps are also likely to be involved in the LeBron sweepstakes with their mass of cap space. Whether it's a realistic destination, nobody knows at this point. The remainder of the starting five is solid. Clippers made the Playoffs after three years but fell shortly against the heavy Houston Rockets. By this team's performance, we can prove that the number one overall draft pick and won the Rookie of the Year award, Blake Griffin is really a worth pick, a game changer or rather a dynasty changer.
Another team need is the depth of the PG position, Steve Blake will play elsewhere next season and leaving only Baron Davis on the one spot. The one two punch of their backcourt, Davis and Eric Gordon shined through the playoffs but still, a reliable backup is still needed. If the Clippers make a move to acquire a talented wing player in free agency, they can use the draft pick to bring in an eventual successor for Davis at point guard. Unfortunately, quality point guards are few in number in this year's crop. After John Wall, who is likely to be expected to go first overall to the Minnesota Timberwolves(Kahn's collecting PG again), the second best is fellow Kentucky Wildcat Eric Bledsoe, who is not expected to be taken until the end of the lottery or just afterward. Behind him is Oklahoma product Willie Warren. And although he would be able to reunite with Griffin, his former college teammate, he is seen as a late first-round or early second-round pick.
The Clippers are certainly hoping so. With Griffin's blooming career, a mid pick in the first round, and the possible addition of a top-of-the-line free agent, the Los Angeles Clippers could be very dangerous by the time the season rolls around.
Draft Targets
After acquiring the overall draft pick last year, Clippers made the Playoffs and proved themselves as a contender and now got the 18th pick, good for them. Leave Aminu, Turner who will surely fall early, but mock drafts are saying Butler native Gordon Hayward may picked mid-late. This is the primary plan for the Clippers, and if they got lucky, signing LeBron after will turn out to be a great summer for them.
Hayward is a extremely versatile swingman who can score, handle, pass and rebound. He was named Conference’s Player of the Year as a sophomore. Selected as the Most Outstanding Player of the West Regional. Just missed half court shot at buzzer to win NCAA championship. Deceptively athletic with good burst which is exactly will fit to the Clippers system. Shoots with range and has excellent mechanics.
Furthermore, Hayward has the intangibles of a star player. He constantly displays a will to win, scrapping for loose balls and never giving up on a play. His leadership skills were evident throughout Butler's tournament run.
For the Clipps, Hayward would be the best fit. He could learn some things from Baron Davis especially on leadership and defense. Expect Aminu, Wesley Johnson to go top 15 but Hayward is acceptable at 18.
