I used to like Smush, but after seeing him play the way he has I just realized he is just another bum. I hope Jay Williams wears a Laker uniform. It'd be nice to see him back in the league.

Smush has lost his mojo
Smush was always a bum, theres a reason why he could only make the D league... also, finished my tests! First game up today!
Also... I'm entertaining the thought of signing my man Rushy.

Suns Outgun Lakers in Season Opener
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (AP) -- When Boris Diaw went down to injury, the Lakers thought that it was time to finally stage a strong comeback. Unfortunately, the Phoenix Suns only upped the pressure and played better. Steve Nash was close to unstoppable scoring 14 points in the third quarter including three treys that seemed to prevent any comeback from the Lakers.
Shawn Marion’s 24 points and 15 rebounds while Steve Nash added 23 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals in a 19 point win over the Lakers. Mike D’Antoni was proud of his side but said that the Lakers were admittedly missing half of their side. “Without Kobe (Bryant), Lamar (Odom) and Kwame (Brown), they don’t have their top three scorers so a big win was expected tonight.”
It was unfortunate for Diaw to injure his right leg though as he was forced to leave the game in the first quarter. “I think it’s because of how much he played during the summer,” reasoned D’Antoni. Meanwhile, Amare Stoudamire had a fairly quiet game with 6 points and 8 rebounds.
Lakers signing Vladimir Radmanovic had the hot hand as he didn’t miss a shot en route to leading the team with 19 points from off the bench. Rookie point guard Jordan Farmar added 10 points and Jahidi White had 9 points and 7 rebounds. The production of the bench unit was encouraging as the starting line up failed to start anything.
Andrew Bynum continued his strong play with 8 points and 9 rebounds but struggled due to foul trouble. Luke Walton helped pick up the slack for team mate Maurice Evans with 9 points and a game high 9 assists. Evans had a strong preseason campaign but struggled to find his shot and finished on 2 for 13 shooting from the field. “I couldn’t handle the defensive pressure,” Evans sadly admitted, “This isn’t preseason, the Suns actually tried to shut me down early. It’s just too bad it worked for them.”
The Suns used a handy 14-2 run from the end of the first quarter to the middle of the second to establish a double digit lead. They then increased that lead into the 20s during the third quarter in which they used another big scoring run. Every time the Lakers attempted to come back, Steve Nash would get his teams back up with a timely three point shot. “Nash was on fire,” Shammond Williams said, “There was no answer for him. We just couldn’t get back into the game. It’s a shame to lose the first game.”
Despite the loss, Coach Phil Jackson was still upbeat, “We tried to execute and we did our job. Shots just weren’t dropping and we did get a tough team to play. We should have better luck tomorrow against the (Golden State) Warriors.” When asked if he needed his starters back, Jackson replied, “There’s no need right now. We will be fine.”
Game Notes
The Miami Heat won 107-98 against the Chicago Bulls in the other season opening game. Ben Wallace scored 25 points in his debut… Boris Diaw’s status is day to day… Kobe Bryant decided against playing and may only return in 3 games time…

Lakers Come Back and Win In Overtime
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
GOLDEN STATE, Oakland. (AP) -- Last season, the Los Angeles Lakers desperately needed a shooter to take pressure off of Kobe Bryant. They signed Vladimir Radmanovic for the job but unfortunately, he injured his wrist. However, in a surprising finish, another off season signing Shammond Williams broke through in overtime and scored a game winning jumper at the buzzer.
Williams’ jumper left his hand with 1.1 seconds left on the clock and the ball swished in after the buzzer sounded. It was only after officials looked at game footage that the basket was awarded. Williams had hit the shot over the taller Jason Richardson and was calm after hitting the shot. The rest of his young team calmly left the floor, not bothering the celebrate.
“It was very tense I guess,” Andrew Bynum stated, “Coach (Jackson) wasn’t happy with us letting the other team get ahead of us in the final quarter. And in overtime, we were a bit lazy on defence.”
Andris Biedrins grabbed a career high 19 rebounds and scored 14 points to go along with it. His 10 offensive rebounds was also a career high. Jason Richardson and Baron Davis led the team with 29 and 38 points respectively. Don Nelson was pleased with his two stars in their team’s season opener, “Jason and Baron played well but I can’t say the same for the rest of the guys. Andris did well but I want to see more from everyone else.”
The Lakers’ Maurice Evans was stellar in the first half as he match Baron Davis basket for basket. After he left though, the Lakers didn’t have any dependable scorer. Jordan Farmar came off the bench to impress his coaches once again with 14 points. However, Farmar looked tired at times and it was an indication he just isn’t ready yet. Ronny Turiaf played well off the bench with 16 points while Shammond Williams struggled to 20 points. Andrew Bynum continued his strong play with 14 rebounds and Luke Walton had a near triple double with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists,
The Golden State Warriors got off to a hot start and used a big scoring run to get ahead in the game. The Lakers had their own 18-4 scoring run in the second quarter and limited the Warriors to just 10 points. The teams were then eye for eye for the second half. A third quarter Lakers 11 point lead was erased quickly after Maurice Evans left the floor.
Without Evans who had 21 first half points, the Lakers struggled to score and suffered greatly on defence. Baron Davis and Jason Richardson seemed to score at will as Andrew Bynum struggled to work on the glass. The Lakers and Warriors battled it up to the end of the final minute of the game. The Lakers got up by 3 points with 1:11 left before Baron Davis scored a dagger three to tie the match. Jason Richardson missed a shot to win the game and Troy Murphy’s tip rolled off the rim. “We were lucky that Murphy’s shot didn’t drop,” Shammond Williams said.
Overtime saw the Warriors score first and the teams traded baskets for much of the time. A Baron Davis trey put his team up and they stayed in the lead until the end. Los Angeles held a one point lead late in the match but Andris Biedrins scored a finger role to put his team ahead by 1 with 1:24 left in overtime. Luke Walton missed a three on the other end and Jason Richardson dunked the ball to put his side up 101-98 with 44 second left. The Lakers called a timeout and set up a play for Ronny Turiaf who shot 5 for 6 from the field for the match. Turiaf scored off an open jumper in the lane with 28 seconds left in the game to put LA closer to the home side.
With 17 seconds left in the game, LA sent Mike Dunleavy to the charity stripe. The young player crumbled under pressure and Jahidi White cleaned up on the glass and got the rebound. He passed to Luke Walton who took care of the ball for the final second of the game. He found Turiaf under the hoop with the pass but the Warriors’ defence quickly collapsed on him. Turaif passed the ball up to the top of the key to White who then passed it down to Shammond Williams at the baseline. Williams proceeded to rush his shot and it dropped after the buzzer sounded.
“I though it was too late but it wasn’t,” Williams smiled, “Lucky shot.”
Game Notes
Maurice Evans was diagnosed with a sore wrist… Patrick O’Bryant didn’t play for the Warriors as he is still recovering from injury… Lamar Odom and Smush Parker were present on the Lakers’ bench… Kobe Bryant is expected to return against the Sonics next game…

Nice shot by Williams on the buzzer. Won your first game. Start Farmar.

Farmar ain't starting... William's shot at the buzzer has saved him from losing his starting spot! But Maurice Evans is injured

Sore wrist... so he won't start...

Sore wrist... so he won't start...
Then let Farmar start at Shooting Guard

Maybe... but man, Jax would never let Farmar start
I think Vlad Rad will start at SF and Walton at SG and Williams at PG

I don't care about Jax. Farmar has talent and he can show that talent at the 2.

The whole concept of my dynasty is to be realistic... honestly, in real life, Farmar ain't contributing all that much. He plays good for a while then makes a few mistakes... he isn't starter worthy.
Just enjoy the ride and keep complaining.

God damn do I love buzzer beaters... Good for you, you made one..
15 Minutes, 21 points, Maurice Evans?? Oh yeah, he's nice...
Sat Nov 18, 2006 10:09 pm
It's 8 min quarters so it's not a real reflection.
Sat Nov 18, 2006 11:41 pm
Well I know that, it just looks amazing, cause Williams had 2 times more minutes, and did pretty much the same...
Sat Nov 18, 2006 11:54 pm
Great win, but man, you want to be too realistic with your dynasty. If so, then play 12 minutes
Sun Nov 19, 2006 12:21 am
Pursuer, Evans ripped it up. He missed 5 times in a row at the start but after falling behind, I let him go crazy. Dunking voer any and every one!
And Marquis, I don't have the time to play 12 min quarters... if I could I would.

And the second thing is that it's hard to keep the score realistic in 12 min quarters

Radmanovic Misses at Buzzer, Lakers’ Failed Comeback
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (AP) -- Luke Walton notched a career high in assists and reached another milestone in his career by putting together his first ever triple double while Shammond Williams scored a season high 26 points in a Lakers 3 point loss to the Seattle Supersonics.
Walton and Williams each scored 10 points in the final quarter during an ill-fated comeback attempt. The Lakers fell desperately short as Vladamir Radmanovic missed back to back three pointers in the final minute and the Lakers succumbed to a 3 point deficit.
“Vlade had a two poor looks in the end but no one else wanted to shoot so he had to rush both times,” Phil Jackson said after the game, “We are really looking forward to some veteran leadership.”
Walton had 18 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists to lead the Lakers. His leadership was outstanding however Walton has been shooting poorly in the last three games. In this one he was just 9 for 26 from the field. “I’m aware that he’s (Walton) having a bit of a tough time. I think it’s just a matter of him adjusting to his role as a playmaker and also a scorer,” Phil Jackson reasoned.
The Sonics were led by Ray Allen’s 33 points as Rashard Lewis was held to just 8 points on 2 for 16 shooting. The Sonics and Lakers were neck for neck during the first half of the game before the Sonics used a 15-2 run to take a double digit lead entering the final period.
Maurice Evans started hot but quickly cooled off in the fourth quarter. On a sore hand, he finished with 11 points, including two dunks. As the Lakers began to trail by 14 points, Radmanovic took Evans off the court and got hot himself. Behind two straight treys, Radmanovic started a Lakers 12-2 run and the home side closed the gap between the two teams. Walton and Williams were outstanding working as a two man tandem passing and scoring in the lane.
The Lakers got as close as two points to their opponents before Luke Walton was hit hard in the paint with 48 seconds left. The officials didn’t call a foul and Walton was called for a technical foul after arguing. Chris Wilcox missed one free shot but made another to push his team’s buffer up to 3. The Lakers’ Radmanovic forced a rushed shot as the shot clock expired and the Lakers quickly fouled Danny Fortson who then missed two of his shots. Luke Walton grabbed his eleventh rebound and launched a pass to Radmanovic who had just 5 seconds left on the court. The big forward dribbled down to the edge of the three point line and launched a quick shot which hit the back of the rim as the buzzer sounded.
“We didn’t make the most of our opportunities,” Walton said, “I did a poor job shooting the ball. I will take some of the blame.” Maurice Evans, nursing a sore hand, was supportive of Radmanovic, “I now know how much pain he will be in for the rest of this season. It’s hard to play with a hurting hand.”
Game Notes
Luke Ridnour and Chris Wilcox were injured but both returned in the fourth quarter… Luke Walton has started all 3 games and has played the highest amount of minutes in the team but he is letting the team down by shooting .321 (17-53) from the field… Shammond Williams is the team leader in scoring with 16 points per game… Maurice Evans averaged 18 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists during preseason; so far he has struggled with just 12 points per game on 14 for 37 shooting…

Oh man Luke Walton

and he got technical foul lol
Unlucky end of the game as Vlad failed to hit the 3 and overall the team struggled at offense as you said. 42% from the field is kinda bad...
Good luck on the next game!
