Timberwolves - Heat Notebook• Posted: December 17, 2011 7:02 PM EDTTHE FACTS: The Heat are coming off a tough OT loss against
Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks while the Timberwolves came from a superb win against the Toronto Raptors. The game was a slow tempo game, not much fast break points from both teams in the First Half. The game was controlled by the Miami Heat led by their super athletic phenom
LeBron James, James scored 22 Points in the First Half alone. The Timberwolves made their move in the third quarter behind their bench led by veteran
Richard Hamilton who led the bench in scoring with 12 points and
Ty Lawson scored 6 Points in the third alone after struggling in the First Half, but still the Heat would come up by one by the end of the third quarter. The Timberwolves took charge early in the fourth quarter led by
Michael Beasley but the Heat managed a comeback late in the fourth quarter and got a 2 point lead heading in to the last 7 seconds of the game behind a three pointer from
LeBron james, but miraculously Beasley drained a three pointer at the buzzer!
THE STAT:
LeBron James was an absolute beast in tonight's game as he recorded 39 Points 3 rebounds and 4 assists in the losing effort.
HOT: Aside from
Michael Beasley who was clearly the main man in this game but "The Bridman"
Chris Andersen was an absolute X-Factor in their recent win against the Miami Heat. Andersen scored 11 Points and grabbed 4 rebounds and his stats was joined by 5 big blocks. Andersen played more minutes than
Enes Kanter because according to George Karl, Head Coach of the Wolves, Andersen played most of his minutes well and late in the game he was part of the Timberwolves run that killed the Heat in the game as he was rejecting shots by
Dwayne Wade and others and he played tough on the inside and his 4 rebounds all came from second chance points.
NOT:
Chris Bosh was a clear non-factor to the game as he failed to deliver for the Miami Heat with his post moves which he usually drains easily but maybe Andersen's defense bothered Bosh's game. Bosh only scored 8 Points and 5 Rebounds and 5 Turnovers in 33 Minutes.
QUOTABLE: "We cannot just rely on LeBron, we lacked guys who can support the main guy in this game. We don't need fancy stats, what we need is team effort and most importantly, the win." - Heat Head Coach, Erik Spoelstra
