Haha, I played 6/7 minute quarter, not the 10 that I tried at the beginning of Bobcats in the Sun.

Trade Rumors: Domination Included

'Tis the season for trading, and trade rumors are abundant.

 After trading Kyle Korver, Chicago's bench had no real shooters. Michael Redd returned from his injury to Chicago (yes he was traded there) with nothing left in the tank. Chicago is talking with Golden State about a trade for Dorell Wright and as also trying to persuade Charlotte to give up DJ Augustin.

 Roy Hibbert may never play in the NBA again after sustaining a sickening knee injury against the Boston Celtics. The Indiana Pacers are screwed if they can't get a decent center who isn't named Raef Lafrentz. Desagana Diop won't cut it. The Pacers are offering Portland Danny Granger for Marcus Camby.

 Miami needs size again. Jeff Foster went down with a sprained knee and may not see action for the rest of the regular season, just two games after Indiana traded him to Miami. Miami was looking for Erick Dampier, but Dampier wears a Lakers jersey this season. Do you see the Lakers helping out the Heat at all? I don't.

 The Kings need all the help they can get. Philadelphia is looking to trade Evan Turner and Sacramento is a possible option for him.

 The Domination are looking for a couple things: they want to bulk up and they want a big, consistent shooter. Zee Otoo's system really works on sharpshooters, as experienced by Jared Dudley, who is likely an All-Star this year. They are eyeing the New Jersey Nets and may try to pull the trigger on a huge trade that may include Brook Lopez, Anthony Morrow, Glen Davis, Hassan Whiteside, Acie Law, and several others. Oklahoma City has also put Serge Ibaka on the trading block.

 The Orlando Magic care playing well, but they recently lost Marcin Gortat to a torn ACL. Fabricio Oberto and Brandon Bass are doing a decent job playing the center position, but when Dwight Howard fouls out in the playoffs, is Fabricio Oberto going to stop Shaq or Chris Bosh from jamming it in? Orlando has fixed its eyes on Elton Brand, but Philly's not letting go.

 Phoenix is looking to trade Hedo Turkoglu. He, Hakim Warrick, and Anderson Varejao all split time at the power forward position. The big question is, who will take Turk? The answer: Nobody yet.

 Washington is tiny. Outside of their starting lineup: absolutely miniscule. Maybe they are desperate enough to take on Hedo Turkoglu's contract. The question is, will the Suns want Arenas, his contract, and his guns?

North Carolina Loses Roller-Coaster Game To Charlotte

Domination fans have to wonder how Jared Dudley keeps his field goal percentage above 50% and his three-point percentage around 39%, as fans endured another long night of 7-18 shooting from the field and 4-13 from outside. While the team has great offensive rebounders in DeJuan Blair and Walter Herrmann, Jared Dudley's shooting may well have cost the Domination another win that was within their grasp. Nevertheless, Dud scored 18 points, and he also had four each of assists and rebounds.

Domination point guards Jerryd Bayless and Kyle Lowry both regret not dishing more to Walter Herrmann, who has improved his shot selection, is taking less threes, and tonight recorded 24 points on 18 shots, only one being an outside shot. "Once we found Walt was nailin' his shots, it was a little late to make major adjustments. Dud came crashing outta the gates in the early third quarter, he scored like seven points in under a minute and I hoped that he'd play like that for a minute or two in the fourth quarter, but it never happened," Bayless said. Bayless had nine assists and nine points. Once again, Adam Morrison was overshadowed by more flashy games from Herrmann, Dudley (at times) and Shannon Brown. Morrison scored 14 points, sinking two threes, and grabbing three boards.

Crazy performances the Bobcats' starting lineup were the key to the Bobcats' success. After trading to get Raymond Felton back, the Bobcats had four of the five guys that made up a successful starting line-up last season. Chris Andersen, the odd man out in more than one way :) , didn't have huge point production, but brought down a game-high seven rebounds in his third game as a Bobcats' starter. Felton dished 14 assists, while Wallace, Jackson, and Diaw combined for 79 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 steals. Ricky Davis pulled off two highlight-reel dunks and returned to the bench after just four minutes, while Sam Dalembert tried and failed to overpower the Domination in the paint. It didn't happen and Big Sam scored just three foul shots, no rebounds, and two steals while playing in nearly a third of the game.

The whole game was a roller coaster ride, filled with huge scoring runs, droughts, and all sorts of things. The Domination started quickly, and scored 24 points before the Cats could reach double digits. The Cats fought their way through the first quarter and were three down as the quarter ended. Gerald Wallace scored three straight inside shots to kick off the second quarter and completed a 13-0 run between the two quarters. NC responded with giving Acie Law the green light to nail a three, steal an inbound pass directed at DJ Augustin, and swish another three. The game continued in a widely variable fashion until the middle of the fourth quarter.

With about four minutes left, the Domination were up by one, Boris Diaw swished a long three from half court at the shot clock, and the Bobcats never gave the lead back. DeJuan Blair misssed three straight shots in the paint, while Charlotte went on a run. They were up by as much as eleven points in the final minute and finished ahead by eight after Shannon Brown made his second outside shot of the night. A missed opportunity leaves the Domination with only one win, while the Bobcats are now 12-5.

Bobcats point guard Raymond Felton after the game: "I feel like I'm at home again. I went to college in the Carolinas, I played as a Bobcats for a few years, I took a little six-month vacation in New York, and I'm back home again. It feels great. Charlotte will be my home for years to come and I want to bring a championship to Charlotte in the next few years. The team's played like they want to so far. With Boris Diaw projected as an All-Star, S-Jax maybe there too... I was close but didn't make it, I dunno, we're a much better team than I thought we were and I regret ever leaving Charlotte. I've come back to win." In Felton's four games so far this season as a Bobcat, he has averaged 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 14 assists. In twelve games as a Knick, 14 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals.

CHA: 29 - 64 - 95 - 125 - Gerald Wallace: 32 points (16-20 FG%, 0-0 3P%, 0-1 FT%), 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, 0 blocks, 3 fouls, 3 turnovers [player of the game]
NCD: 32 - 62 - 92 - 117 - Walter Herrmann: 24 points (11-18 FG%, 1-1 3P%, 1-2 FT%), 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 1 foul, 3 turnovers

Domination Lose A Surprisingly Close Game To Magic

DeJuan Blair did what few centers in the NBA are able to do to the Magic: stop Dwight Howard from rebounding. Howard had a season-low 4 rebounds, while Blair had a game-high of 9. Glen Davis reeled in 7, while Herrmann and Bayless grabbed six each. This was a big part in keeping the game very close throughout. Neither team ever led by double digits and Orlando, up by three after the third quarter, just traded baskets with North Carolina until the game expired.

Adam Morrison poured in six 3-pointers and Jared Dudley and Walter Herrmann combined for seven more. The team had 48 points on outside shots alone, making Orlando's shooters look silly. They only had six. The combination that made the Magic win was Jameer Nelson and Quentin Richardson. Nelson shattered his old assist record, dishing NINETEEN assists, while Richardson received nearly half of those on fast-break layups and dunks. Mickael Pietrus and Dwight Howard also received several nice passes. Nelson, however, missed all four of his threes, but still finished off his career night with 14 points and 19 assists. He was named the player of the game.

Despite missing Acie Law due to a sore ankle, the Domination had excellent playmaking from the point guards. Bayless had nine assists and Lowry had five. They got the ball to the open players, who could drill easy threes. Adam Morrison had a career night with 6-11 shooting from outside and scored 20 points. The Domination "Big 3" of Morrison, Dudley, and Herrmann combined 62 points on 13-24 shooting from outside. Dudley did the pure scoring, but didn't help out on defense at all. Had he tried to defend Q-Rich, the Domination would have had a good chance at a victory.

ORL: 25 - 41 - 73 - 99 - Jameer Nelson: 14 points (5-10 FG%, 0-4 3P%, 4-4 FT%), 19 assists, 0 rebounds, 1 steal, 0 blocks, 7 turnovers, 3 fouls
NCD: 24 - 46 - 70 - 97 - Jared Dudley: 26 points (11-18 FG%, 4-9 3P%, 0-1 FT%), 1 assist, 1 rebound, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 3 turnovers, 5 fouls

The game was projected to be a blowout, but it wasn't. The Magic won by only 2.
Dwight Howard dunked the ball a lot and scored 15 points.
Big Baby came up with a huge swat on Brandon Bass.
Vince Carter only scored four points, but he dunked on Jared Dudley.
Adam Morrison had a career night from behind the arc.
Q-Rich loved the fastbreak, and he connected on a reverse alleyoop thrown by Nelson.

THE ALL STAR GAME!!!

Re: NCD [1-16] So Close To Beating Orlando, All-Star Contest

Fri Dec 31, 2010 8:03 am

All right people, All-Star game is next. So that means another contest! (yes I know I've done a lot of contests) A lot of questions this time - translates to a lot of points for all the contestants. Each question's worth a point. Remember that I'm playing 12 minute quarters and scores run nearly twice as high as they should playing such long quarters. Also, stats go berserk. :D I am playing as the East.

CONTEST #5

1. Who will win the All-Star game? West or East?
2. How many points will the West score? (within 10)
3. How many points will the East score? (within 10)
4. Who was the West's leading scorer?
5. How many points did he score? (within 5)
6. Who was the East's leading scorer?
7. How many points did he score? (within 5)
8. How many points did Jared Dudley score? (within 5)

The next few questions are about one player. This player made the most amazing quadruple-double you are ever likely to see. I'm amazed that it even happened. It's not Jared Dudley.
9. Who was it?
Now guess his stats in the five categories. Remember he had a quadruple double, so four of the five categories have at least 10 in them.
10. Points? (within 5)
11. Rebounds? (within 2)
12. Assists? (within 2)
13. Blocks? (within 2)
14. Steals? (within 2)
