Al Jefferson Not Happy In MinnesotaNovember 26, 2009 - Minnesota Timberwolves star Al Jefferson is rumored to be unhappy with the Wolves. An inside reporter is said to have heard the 24 year old big man shout a myriad of profanities. Jefferson reportedly also complained about the team's record (4-11, 14th in the West), playing out of his position and cold weather.
Jefferson leads the Wolves in scoring with 18.2 PPG, but has seen most of his stats drop with the emergence of second year guard Kevin Love. When asked about it, Timberwolves general manager David Kahn denied that this tirade had ever occurred. Potential destinations for Jefferson could include Indiana, Houston or Oklahoma City.
Al Jefferson wanting out makes sense. I can attest to the Minneapolis weather... well, sucking balls, and the team is pretty bad. Plus, I could imagine being a player of Jefferson's caliber, having to play for a bad team in a bad climate, you'd want to be the top dog on that team. With frontcourt partner Kevin Love leading the team in rebounds, and averaging just 1.6 less points per game (on far more efficient shooting), Jefferson's status is threatened. Big Al is clearly no KG, and I think at this point, most people would take Love over him.
I, for one, would not be opposed to dealing Al Jeff. He's a very talented player, and star big men are a rare commodity. However, the frontcourt pairing of Jefferson and Love clearly does not work. The deal would almost certainly be a drop-off talent wise, but if we can get a decent pick and serviceable Center, I'll be satisfied. There are other rumors of Jefferson for Danny Granger, but as cool as that would be, I'm not buying it.
While I'd like to see Jefferson go, I hope this rumor isn't true. The last thing we need is for him to dilute his trade value and do further damage to our already piss poor chemistry. I know he isn't the next KG, but I hope he follows in his footsteps by taking the high road in trade requests.

November 27, 2009 - The first half was fairly close, and Wolves fans held on to a slim hope that their team would pick up their first victory over a non-sub-.500 squad. Unfortunately for them, basketball is a game of two halves. The Suns outscored the home team 71-38 in the second half, routing the young squad. The Suns accomplished this on the backs of Steve Nash and Amar'e Stoudemire among others. The Wolves failed to have a single player score over 20, and neither Kevin Love nor Al Jefferson scored in double digits. The silver lining in the game was third year bench warmer Alondo Tucker scoring 13 points on efficient 6-8 shooting. Mercurial swingman Corey Brewer led them with 16.23 23 36 35 117 (10-6) | Nash: 23/4/11 | Stoudemire: 28/7/2 | Richardson: 21/1/1

November 29, 2009 - Last time these two teams played, Carmelo Anthony exploded for 43 points and 5 boards in an intense overtime Nuggets win. This time around, Melo once again notched 43 and 5, and his team got the win. However, no extra period was necessary, as they steamrolled the Wolves 110-87. The game was all Nuggets, with the defending division champs winning every quarter. The Wolves, who got decent games out of Kevin Love and Ramon Sessions, and nobody else, fell to 4-13, good for worst in the conference and second worst in the NBA.22 20 30 15 87 (4-13) | Love: 19/12/2 | Sessions: 18/5/3 | Gomes: 13/4/1
