Yeah, the Lakers are a looking a bit different.

Lamar Odom is averaging 21.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, 6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2 blocks per game as of right now.

On the other hand, Kobe Bryant is averaging 19.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 7.1 assists, 1.9 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game.

Of course, Kobe has been suffering from a hyper-extended knee the past week or two which is really limiting what he can do on the court.

Sorry for the lack of game updates. I meant to play the game vs. Milwaukee earlier but I left my controller over at a friend's place and I'm trying to adjust to the keyboard before starting the Bucks game. Stay tuned.

Game Recap

Milwaukee, without their star shooting guard Michael Redd, came out firing on all cylinders early on in the first quarter. Rookie Center Andrew Bogut scored the Bucks' first eight points to advance the Bucks to an early 8-2 lead. Bogut picked up his second personal foul with four minutes left in the first quarter and the game conversed. The Jazz then took advantage of the mismatch in the post and Yao Ming went on to score 16 points in the first quarter. Jazz rookie C.J. Miles debuted late in the first quarter and picked off a bad pass from T.J. Ford with four seconds left in the quarter leading to a running, buzzer-beating 3-point shot from about 28 feet out. Jazz led the Bucks 27-20 after the first quarter.

The second quarter was synonymous with the last four minutes of the first quarter as Jerry Sloan's bench continued to attack from all angles. C.J. Miles stole the show, literally, with six of his nine steals coming in the second quarter. Latrell Sprewell scored 10 of his 13 points all in the first four minutes of the second quarter. The Bucks continued their foul trouble woes and could only rack up 11 points in quarter. Veteran Jazz Center Dikembe Mutombo went out with a leg injury late in the second quarter and sat out the rest of the game. We'll have an update later on today of the extent of Mutombo's injury. Jazz led the Bucks 49-31 at the half.

Led by Andrew Bogut and Maurice Williams, the Bucks went on a 10-0 run in the early goings of the third quarter which forced Utah to call a quick timeout to regroup their gameplan. Coming out the timeout the ball went back into the 7'5 China native Yao Ming's hands as he and the Jazz retaliated the Bucks' run with a 12-0 run. The teams were pretty even throughout the rest of the quarter. Jazz led the Bucks 94-60 after 36 minutes of play.

With the game pretty well over, Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan let the starters sit out most of the fourth quarter. C.J. Miles picked off two more passes in the fourth quarter, bringing his total to an amazing nine steals in his first appearance in the NBA and doing so in just 19 minutes of play. Miles' nine steals tied John Stockton for the franchise record for the most steals in one game. The bench players from the Jazz did a good job closing the game out - outscoring the Bucks in the fourth quarter 26-24. Jazz defeat the Bucks with ease 120-84.

C.J. Miles Training Paying Off?

Utah Jazz rookie shooting guard C.J. Miles, who came straight out of high school, has been hard at work training with Jazz assistant coach Mark McKown and it showed in his NBA debut against the Milwaukee Bucks. Miles tied future hall of famer John Stockton for the franchise record with nine steals in one game. Sound incredible? He did so in just 19 minutes of play. Former Jazz forward Karl Malone was there to experience C.J's amazing performance and stated "What that young man did out there, that was incredible. He should be locked up as much as he was pickin' people off out there".

Assistant Coach of the Jazz franchise, Mark McKown, went on to say "C.J. has an incredible amount of potential, an unlimited amount of it, and you better believe I'm going to make C.J. into an all-star someday down the road. He has an outstanding work ethic and he's going to have a great career here in the NBA". We will have an interview with C.J. Miles a few days after the Jazz visit Seattle for the first time this season. If Miles keeps this up he'll be one of the biggest steals from this year's NBA Draft.

Game Recap

The game began with Richard Hamilton coming down on Luke Ridnour's foot as he tweaked it and had to leave the game. However, he checked back in in the game in just a few minutes. Rashard Lewis started off a strong first quarter giving Seattle a 20-14 lead with three minutes to go in the first. Rip Hamilton caught fire toward the end of the quarter to give the Jazz a 28-27 lead heading into the second quarter.

Inside the key was the place to be in the second quarter as Yao Ming scored 16 of his game-high 44 pointsin the second quarter alone as well as Stromile Swift dropping in eight points of his own. Jim Jackson capped off the quarter with a 3-point shot at the buzzer to give the Jazz a 55-49 lead heading to the half.

To the third quarter we go and we start off with Richard Hamilton scoring 10 straight points for the Jazz. Rashard Lewis continued to shoot well from outside as he scored 12 of the Sonics' 27 points in the third quarter. The Sonics really got pounded on the boards - the Jazz outrebounded Seattle 20-4 in the third quarter. As the buzzer sounded at the end of the third quarter the Jazz continued their ways with an 83-76 lead.

Ray Allen, having a particularly quiet night, scored a 22 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter. In the final couple minutes of play the Sonics managed to get a 110-109 lead. Coming off the timeout, the Jazz worked it in the paint as Yao Ming overpowered the Sonics' Reggie Evans to get the bucket plus the foul. Jazz lead. Yao Ming came up with the huge steal with under a minute left and hit two key free throws to give the Jazz a five-point lead. Luke Ridnour was picked off on the very next play by Stromile Swift and he hit both of his free throws to give the Jazz a seven-point lead. Timeout Sonics. Ray Allen hit two crucial shots in the final 30 seconds to bring the game back within three points. Jazz imbounded the ball to Yao Ming who was fouled immediately and sent to the line for two more key free-throws to which he hit. Seattle, down by five with just eight seconds left in the game, put the ball in the hands of Luke Ridnour as he drained a three to bring the Sonics within two. After the timeout, Stromile Swift imbounded the ball to Chris Paul who kept away from all Sonics' players while the clock ran down to zero. Jazz win a close one 118-116.

The two teams will meet for the first time since swapping players back on November 6. The trade saw Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, and Derek Fisher heading to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Utah's Al Harrington, Al Jefferson, and Matt Harpring.
