D'Antoni : Sit quit in the final games.



AP -- Mike D'Antoni, head coach of the New York Knicks, thought guard Will Sit quit during the final games of the season.

"He wasn't as good as he was when we first got him. It was as if he quit."

Sit averaged just 13 points in the three games the Knicks played in April, while rookie forward Stephon Mayberry averaged nearly 30 ppg.

The Knicks won all 3 games, but didn't qualify for the Playoffs, finishing 9th in the East behind Miami.

Dieudonne does the impossible, finishes season perfect from foul line.



AP -- Jerry Dieudonne of the Nuggets capped off a rare feat in his Sophomore season, going a prefect 27-27 from the stripe. He is the first to accomplish the feat since the league switched to a 29-game regular season.

Jose Calderon, who has a lot more attempts then Dieudonne, was in the running until the final game of the season, but missed his first free throw in the season in the closing seconds of that game. He was 96-97 for the season.

Will Sit was third in the league, shooting 96.9%. ROY front-runner Stephon Mayberry was also in the Top 10, shooting 94.7%

AP -- Carmelo Anthony of the Chicago Bulls said he is testing the free agent market this season. Anthony was a trade-deadline acquisiotion by the Bulls.

"I got myself into this mess. I wanted a change of scenary and Chicago was a good choice. Things just didn't work out."

The Bulls lost all 7 games after acquiring Carmelo and finished with the worst record in the East. Derrick Rose is also a free agent, but the Chicago-native said he hopes to re-sign with the Bulls.

Live 06 loves high-fliers like J-Rich, so it will be tough. And J-Rich is averaging just 10, because he was on the bench with the Suns for most of the season. He won't be averaging 10 in the Playoffs, I'm sure of it.

Cavaliers draw first blood behind Big Z's Big Night.
Bucks (83) - Cavaliers (89)

Richardson had a couple of spectacular dunks in the closing minutes.

The Bucks started the Playoffs woefully. They shot 36% for the game and scored just 54 points through the first 3 quarters. The Cavaliers won game #1, 89-83.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas led the Cavaliers with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Mo Williams had a double-double with 20 points and 10 assists. LeBron James and Jason Richardson also scored in double figures, LeBron also had 5 blocks.

For the Bucks, every starter besides Jennings shot the ball poorly, led my Michael Redd who shot just 6-25. He finished with 18, as did Jennings. Warrick had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Andrew Bogut scored 11.

The Cavs took the lead in the first quarter, 27-14. They maintained that advantage and slowly increased it throughout the first three periods. After three quarters, the Cavaliers held a 70-54 advantage and looked to close out the game.

But the Bucks fought back behind Warrick and Jennings, as they out-scored the Cavaliers 29-19 in the final period, getting as close as 4 at one point, but LeBron James's tip-in with 27 seconds left closed the door for a Bucks win.

NOTES : Miami Heat won game #1 against the #1 seeded Detroit Pistons 101-94.
