Mediocre first half ends with a career high for Blake as Cleveland wins Nets, season series 2-0
Blake scored 8 in the first half, but finished with 30 and 11 rebounds.
As Cleveland was coming off some huge things, like a win over the Timberwolves and acquiring Blake Griffin from a trade, the Nets however were coming off a loss against the Bobcats. As it would seem, that New Jersey would have a huge home court advantage, Blake Griffin came up big in the second half, which pretty much sealed the game.
Cleveland was having a good night. As Griffin had a double-double, Anthony Parker came up with 19 points and 3 steals. Some good play was also shown from J.J Hickson, who was in the shadow of Griffin, but managed to get 16 points and 5 blocks. Even though things went good for them, Terrence Williams injured his knee and left the game. He came back on the court and later said that : " I just have a sore knee, thats all. I will play with less aggression, but will still help the team for some points." Terrence went to have 14 points, as the same amount of Baron Davis scored. Griffin himself said : " Its a great team, the guys over here are great. It was sad to leave Clippers, but we will see how they will do about me. Playing with Baron again is also so good."
Parker was 50% from the field, but 100% from the line - hitting 5-5On the Nets sides, things were not the best. Their scoring leader and one of the best in scoring and assisting in the league, Deron Williams, finished with 21 points and 7 assists. He was tied with Outlaw, who got all of his points from downtown, hitting 7-7 from there. Another good player was Morrow, who stepped up with 19 points and a huge clutch fade-away 3 in the face, which sent the Nets in a 20-2 scoring run. Damion Jones, a rookie, had the same amount of points, with 7 rebounds as well. Nets were holding the sixth spot, as for now, their at the ninth spot. " I think that this team needs to rebuild some more. We are at the right direction and are having a better season than we did last year for sure." - commented Williams, who looks really happy in the Nets lineup, seeing that Jazz is dead last in the West.
Derons play was killed by his turnovers, having 7 for the night.
Outlaws time might be passing, but he is determined to have a good season. Cleveland will go home to face the Hornets, while Nets will try to win in the Motor City of Detroit.
Now, I give you with utmost pleasure :
