Re: BD's Pistons Dynasty (7-1) - 09-10 Season - NBA LIVE 06

Missed the last update, but what a nice finish by Gordon! A buzzer-beater!

Though Stuckey and Gordon are doing pretty well in this dynasty, I'm sure Penny will help them kick some more ass.

First Quarter
Detroit came out blasting the Knicks like a moving train. Rip Hamilton was destroying them inside with crafty layup after crafty layup, slowly yet surely dismantling the Knicks inside and outside defense. Ben Gordon on the other hand missed all 5 of his shot attempts in the quarter. Tracy McGrady whom was believed to be the best scorer for the Knicks came out slow scoring 5 points in the first quarter. At the end of the quarter the score was 23-17 in favour of the Pistons.

Second Quarter
The second quarter was all about the Knicks. Tracy McGrady and Wilson Chandler came out like blasting guns and were scoring on every opportunity. McGrady finished the quarter with a total of 16 and Chandler finished the quarter with a total of 14. Rodney Stuckey scored 10 of his 14 points this quarter and was truly the only reason the Pistons managed to stay within reach of the Knicks scoreline. The score at the half was 48-39 in favour of the Knicks.

Third Quarter
The third quarter was better for the Pistons and it narrowed the 9 point gap to a 6 point gap. The Pistons were passing it in to Ben Wallace whom whilst inside was constantly slamming it down over both David Lee and Eddy Curry. Tayshaun Prince and Charlie Villanueva were also getting in on the action scoring a combined total of 12 points this quarter. Chris Duhon was efficiently passing the ball this quarter racking up a total of 8 assists. Tracy McGrady scored 10 more of his points this quarter. The score going in to the final period of the game was 65-59 in favour yet again, of the Knicks.

Tracy McGrady looked like his old self this game

Fourth Quarter
The Knicks only had a 6 point lead which meant that victory was possible and the Pistons wanted it badly. Chris Duhon continued passing to the scorers this time spreading the ball out to both David Lee and Al Harrington. Rodney Stuckey, Ben Wallace and Rip Hamilton knew they needed to step up in the game to clinch it for themselves. Coach Kuester knew that he needed a better defensive stopper other than Villanueva to stop the penetration by McGrady and subbed in Chris Anderson whom did his job well. With a minute to go the score was 79-79 and McGrady whom was being stopped all game drove to the basket and with 45 seconds left to go did a nice up and under move to put the Knicks up by 2. With 23 seconds left in the game Ben Gordon launched up a shot which missed and was rebounded by Ben Wallace. Wallace passed back out to Rip Hamilton who launched a shot with 4 to go and that too missed though Wallace yet again rebounded it. Wallace went up for the jam only to be fouled by David Lee whom fouled out of the game. With 0.2 seconds to go in the game and the Pistons down by 2 all was thought to be lost as Ben Wallace was a terrible free throw shooter. Wallace had 2 free throw shots and actually missed the 7 he had prior to these so the Pistons fans were in dismay. The first free throw.. good! Ben Wallace shot the second free throw which spun around the rim and then dropped! Ben Wallace hit 2 clutch free throws to send the game to overtime! 81-81, we're going to overtime!

Overtime
The Knicks came out to an early lead thanks to stellar play by Chris Duhon whom was hitting everything from everywhere on the court including an amazing fade away three pointer whilst dodging a block attempt by defensive monster "Big" Ben Wallace. Ben Gordon was passed the ball numerous amounts of times in order to recreate his heroics from the previous game but failed miserably and ended up missing all but one 3 pointer this quarter. In the dying moments of the game, all the people in Madison Square Garden knew who the victor was and this was due to the fantastic play the Knicks starters. Their passion and drive gave the Pistons their 2nd loss of the season. The score at the end of the game was 105-93, Knicks victory.

Tough break; Ben Wallace and clutch free throw shooting are not something you expect to hear in the same sentence, a shame things didn't go to plan in OT.

Those 2 free throws were so hard to make, because the lines were going so fast, honestly it was a fluke, the 2nd one was at least, I was pretty confident for the first haha.

I'm glad he came up in the clutch though, sucks to not win in OT.

Ben Wallace and clutch don't see eye-to-eye (not talking about our fellow Clutch  ). Sucks about that loss, it sounded like a very interesting game, especially with the great defense being played. (Y)

I bombed out in OT, 2 bad three point shots by Gordon and next thing I know I'm down by 10, oh well. Tough loss.

Thanks guys :)

First Quarter
Thanks to the amazing play of Chris Paul, New Orleans got out to a very early lead in the game. Chris Paul scored 15 in the quarter and connected with all 7 of his shot attempts. Ben Wallace also started out well and was truly the only reason that the Pistons stayed in the game throughout the quarter. Ben Gordon missed all 4 of his 3-point shot attempts this quarter. The score at the end of the quarter was 29-16 in New Orleans favour.

Second Quarter
The second quarter much like the first was a attack by New Orleans however this quarter the duo of Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton were keeping Detroit in the game. With a last minute run, Tayshaun Prince scored 8 points in approximately 50 seconds. Prince rebounded and went down the court for a dunk, then stole the ball and went down again for a dunk. Prince then blocked a Chris Paul shot and went down for yet another dunk before rebounding the ball off a David West miss and getting fouled, hitting both free throw shots. The Pistons had the ball to inbound from half court with 1 second left to go and with everyone guarded Charlie Villanueva passed the ball to Ben Wallace who hit a very rare 3 pointer with the buzzer going off to end the half. The score at the half was 50-42 once again in favour of New Orleans.

Third Quarter
Chris Paul began the quarter in early foul trouble, racking up 4 fouls. This meant that New Orleans had to sub out Chris Paul in order to protect their star player and instead put in their backup rookie point guard Darren Collison. Mo Peterson and Peja Stojakovic continued their great shooting combining for a total of 22 points for New Orleans. Ben Gordon wasn't shooting well at the beginning of the quarter but hit a last second 3 pointer before the buzzer went off to end the third quarter. The score going into the fourth quarter was 77-61.

Fourth Quarter
With the Pistons down 16 points many believed that they had no shot to win the game. Ben Gordon stopped his drought by hitting all 5 of his 3 point attempts this quarter contributing 15 points to the Pistons score. Chris Paul had an off game in the fourth quarter and did not play up to the standard of the previous quarters. With 2 minutes to go the score was 80-80 and the teams were trading basket for basket. With five seconds to go Chris Paul had the ball, Tayshaun Prince and Rodney Stuckey double teamed Chris Paul and got the loose ball. Prince ran up the court and went for a dunk to win the game only to be fouled by Mo Peterson who chased after Prince. Tayshaun missed the first free throw. With 1.1 seconds left on the clock he sank the second free throw to put the Pistons up 91-90! With 1.1 seconds on the clock, Chris Paul had the ball and heaved a full court shot which bounced off the rim. The Pistons win the game 91-90!

I won't lie, I've lost interest in this since I got NBA 2K11. Sorry guys, but Live 06 isn't going to cut it against this game and I seem to have lost fun in this dynasty after I picked up my Logitech, plugged it into a USB port and opened 2K11.

Sorry guys.

But on another note, you should all get the game :D

Just saying. Only 10 games done, no major moves, maybe you can port this to 2k11?

You should definitely continue this on 2k11. Even though I'm not a Pistons fan at all, I like this and want it to continue. Who's with me?

I am. There's a problem though--some players in 06 are retired in 2K11, there are new rookies, other players have changed numbers and/or teams more than once.
