z02,

I was wondering, at the end of the season do you adjust the minutes to reflect the minutes that a team would play over the course of the season (19680 player-minutes per season, barring overtime and split minutes) or do you just let them be?

z02: You'll be controlling the Phoenix Suns in this dynasty (hence the name), right?

I have great belief in you so I picked you to go for the championship.

Nope. The CPU sims games at 12 minute quarters, but since I play approx. 7 min quarters, my games are 28 minutes long and that's how the minutes are logged.

Thank you! I control both the Suns and the Bobcats.

Looking at how many people are participating this time around, I'll probably make it two winners instead of one.

New Orleans Takes Game 1

Led by Stojakovic's 21 points, the Hornets went on to take Game 1 against Phoenix. After scoring eight points in the first quarter, Chris Paul sat out the entire second quarter and half of the third due to foul trouble. He always struggles against Steve Nash. In every match the Hornets have played so far against Phoenix, Nash has been successful in getting him in foul trouble. Marcus Williams and Chris Duhon were more than willing to bail Paul out. They combined eight assists, just one shy of what Paul was able to put in himself. Rasaul Butler was a big help for the Hornets toward the end of the game. He and James Posey scored 21 together in the fourth quarter to seal their victory.

Andrea Bargnani made a name for himself in the playoffs already, scoring 29 points, including seven outside shots. Shawn Marion would have been the deciding factor in this game, but fouled out, surprisingly early in the third quarter. He was on fire for a good bit of the game, but got a little overenthusiastic and reckless in his play. Steve Nash had 17 assists and 18 points, but he took a lot of shots (17) to get there. While James Posey and Rasaul Butler were scoring basket after basket, Rudy Fernandez came in a scored eleven points in just three minutes on 4-6 shooting, a lift for the Suns, but not enough of a lift. The Suns fell two points short and one game down in the playoffs.

Sucks that you lost, despite the huge game by Nash. Not even getting CP3 in foul trouble helped. Hope you can get the split in New Orleans. :)

Another Loss In Game 2

The Suns are now one loss away from being swept in the first round by the Hornets. Led once again by Peja (27 points) the Hornets were able to pull off a tremendous fourth quarter rally, where they outscored the visitors 39-15. This is where David West, James Posey, and Emeka Okafor all scored at least ten points. Okafor would get the player of the game honors with his 14 crucial rebounds and six blocks. Chris Paul had another foul-troubled game, but his eleven minutes in the game were smooth and he racked up 15 points. Chris Duhon proved himself better than most people thought and he passed for twelve assists.

The Suns were led by their bench. It's where the two highest scorers, Rudy Fernandez and Goran Dragic, started. Rudy Fernandez was the driving force behind Phoenix's 42-point third quarter. He put in five outside shots in a row, scoring fifteen points in under two minutes, before fouling Peja Stojakovic three times. The Suns tried to get him started in the fourth quarter after Nash missed four straight wide-open shots, but he was able to get six more points, but no more. Goran Dragic fired up in the third as well. He scored 14 points in the last three mintues of the third quarter. Everything collapsed in the fourth, including Amare' Stoudamire going 0-3 from inside. The Hornets overwhelmed the Suns' defense and won the game and there was no turning back. The Suns are now 0-2 in the first round. One loss away from elimination.

Maybe you need to train your players a bit more before the next game.

There's no training in NBA Live 2003. I think that's only in the newer games. I've been a little off lately. Haven't got any 50 point games from J-Rich, Joe Johnson, or Steve Nash recently, although the season does seem to be getting harder as it progresses.

:? There ain't no Bobcats in 03.

Anyway, keep it up, hope you go back to your winning ways.

The Bobcats are added in with a roster patch. SEA is changed to OKC in the same manner.

Oh. I stand corrected.

Why no updates? I hope this doesn't mean you're out of the running...

He doesn't have to update everyday. He probably has a life outside the NLSC.

Thank you Axel. :D

I'm also building up the tension in the NLSC... like anybody here actually keeps up with these except the people who do dynastys etc...

Suns Still in the Running

Phoenix's point guards weren't going to let their team go down. The reason I say point guards, is that Nash fouled out just after halftime, but not before he could hold Chris Paul to just a single minute of play in which four fouls occured against Paul. Nash's 1st half included 16 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. A basket and an assist later, Goran Dragic was there to stay. Goran Dragic bounced off the bench, distributing the ball like no one else. Andrea Bargnani saw a point hike, along with Joe Johnson. These two put in 22 points in the 3rd quarter and would finish combining 36. Bargnani's 5-8 outside shooting was enough, combined with his 12 rebounds, to earn him the Game's MVP. The fact that he broke the tie with 10 seconds left by shooting a three, making it, getting fouled, missing the free throw, having Lamar Odom rebound it, taking a pass from Dragic, and shooting a buzzer beating three, was helpful as well.

With Chris Paul playing a total of under 20 minutes in three games, the Hornets were finally caught up in worry as their leader seemed to never stay out of foul trouble. While Stojakovic's 26 may have overshadowed it, Joe Smith may very well have had the most perfect game of his career. He went 6-6 from the field, pulled down 7 rebounds, and raked in 3 blocks, 4 assists, and 2 steals, all without a turnover or a foul. He was flawless. Unlike Stojakovic's 11-33 shooting. Marcus Willliams played well off the bench. He had a streak in the third quarter with Joe Smith and Emeka Okafor where he got five straight assists for 10 straight points. James Posey also experienced an explosion in the second quarter with 14 points. When everything was said and done, the Hornets defense collapsed at the end and they lost a game that would have gotten them to the next round.

After the game, Chris Paul said, "Never mind the Suns convincing win. They still have a long, long way to go. They have to win both of the next two games to stick around. I will keep myself out of foul trouble and play some ball like I normally do. Steve Nash - I am out to get you." On that note, he went in to the locker room, leaving a nearby Steve Nash laughing himself to tears at the Hornets' "star".

Game MVP: Andrea Bargnani: 23 points, 9-13 FG% (5-8 3PT%), 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 5 assists, 1 block, 0 fouls, 1 turnover.

Is Amare' struggling in these playoffs? Just 9 points and 5 rebounds? Not like him. || Rasaul Butler was a presence off the bench for the Hornets.
David West is a monster. Enough said. || Rudy Fernandez was part of an early fourth quarter push that gave the Suns an advantage.

Chris Paul ain't that great...maybe that's why you put "star" in quotes?

Anyway, good to hear you're back in action. :applaud:
