good draft picks, good luck with this season, conners and paul should be ready to dominate the league soon ;)

Tuomas wrote:Wow, looking good.

Grizzlies :( oh well, I guess it's a good place for minutes and ball hogging 8-)

Thanks. Haha you don't like the Grizzlies. But you suit for that team quite nice, I think your stats will be pretty good. Well if you want out, the dbf trades are always possible

trigger42 wrote:You have a returning Starting 5, which is good for chemistry, I have a feeling that good tiems are ahead for your Hornets, GO PAUL AND CONNERS

Yes I think that the starting 5 that remained from the last year could do the favour to the chemistry, but this starting 5 may be ruined, because if I'm doing not very well in this season, I will be forced to make necessary changes.

ScoopDoggyDogg wrote:good looking off-season. i like furious hidalgo, that is a great name.

looking forward to the 1st trimester

Thanks. I'm glad you like him :P

Lamrock13 wrote:LOL! Furious Hidalgo! wtf? Can't wait for the first trimester update. Hopefully the game begins to like your team and you get lucky with the sim engine.

Thanks. I got the sim engine from Pdub for this year, and I think it will work well.

Anthony15 wrote:Furious Hidalgo, beats any Ben Vuu's and LeBron Ivanov's, good luck next season.

Akinwande is still the greatest name in Live rookies for me so far

c0nr4d wrote:nice recap on the offseaso...

sux that i got drafted by Bucks tho :| maybe they'll trade me or somethin :P

good luck with the new season (Y)

Thanks. Yea your situation is kinda hard in Bucks. You have Boykins and Williams ahead of you, but I think you may become the starter in 2 years or something similar. But don't forget the dbf trades

WhoElseCouldItB wrote:i like where your going with this...ill be following. (Y) 8-)

Thanks, you are welcome.

Pursuer wrote:Wow a lot happened here while I was gone for a while...

Can't believe Houston won the title and some motherfuckin' rookie got the MVP title...Shit happens in Live..

Anyways, your lineups look really strong and after last years performance, I'm predicting you'll make the semi' ending the regular season with a 45+ or even 50+ win record..
Good luck...

Thanks. This season will be like the challenge for the team. If I do well(well I'm really expect so) the team roster won't change, but If I lose more than win, then some guys will be traded for sure.

Stella-Artois wrote:good draft picks, good luck with this season, conners and paul should be ready to dominate the league soon

Thanks. Yes they are going to be the nice duo. I suppose.

Sat Apr 07, 2007 11:43 am

so when 1st trimester going to be??

Sun Apr 15, 2007 11:17 pm

Back here and I like it !! Houston winning, well they had the potential and things worked out for them. I hope you will do better this season but Houston seemed just to be too strong. Your draft picks are interesting, we will see what they bring to the table. Only 1 year and I can be drafted I think .. Looking forward. Good Luck !

Tue Apr 17, 2007 3:13 am

I don't know why, but I lost some motivation on this. Maybe I will post less information about the league stuff (just the most interesting) and keep more attention to the nlsc draftees. This will be continued.

Wed Apr 25, 2007 7:25 pm

it sucks to see that it doesnt interest you anymore, because i really enjoy all of the recaps. and i was looking forward to being drafted.

I hope that you continue this and we have an update soon!

Wed Apr 25, 2007 9:38 pm

No hurry. Just don't pull a 'call-it-quits' yet.

1st TRIMESTER UPDATE
New Orleans Hornets play great basketball in December

November and December Calendar

ImageImage

New Orleans Hornets finally started to demonstrate the good game. After the addition of Lawrence Conners and other rookies the team got more depth in the roster and seems that is starting their domination in NBA. Hornets had 29 games in November and December. They won 9 games in both of these months, but in December lost only 4, and now have the record of 18-11, which really make tehm to feel pretty comfortable, but stimulate to play better and better and seek more. The last lost against Kings at home a bit spoiled the mood, but the record is still good, despite the last game.

Stats

Image

Chris Paul averaging the biggest part of the team points in these 2 months - 22.6, he also dished for about 8 assists per game, which lets him to be one of the best passers in the league. Peja Stojakovic and Lawrence Conners is pretty much the same about the points, but Conners is doing very great job on rebounds and assists. He is the 2nd rebounder in the team after Tyson Chandler and the 2nd passer behind Chris Paul. Tyson Chandler is the last hornet who averages the double digits in points. He is also the leader of the team in rebounds and blocks per game. Rookie Furious Hidalgo got his chance, when David West was injured for 3 weeks, and used his opportunity pretty good. He was averaging 16 points per game in these 5 started matches. It is the 2nd season when David West can't find his best game. Now when he has Hidalgo as the opponent for the starting PF job, he must work even more on his game.

November and December Transactions

ImageImage

New Orleans Hornets received the message from the Pacers to trade Cedric Simmons for Shawne Williams. Players who were drafted in the same year, seem can't find their games. So hopefully after the trade they will have new opportunities to do so. Hornets accepted this trade, motivating that Simmons was stuck on the IR and had no future in the team behind such guys as West and Hidalgo. Williams will probably have more playing time at SF-SG position. Hornets wish only the best to Cedric Simmons at the Pacers.

Upcoming Draft Preview

Image

Patrick Willis (Pdub) is the new tallent in the upcoming draft. Experts believe that draft will not be so good as previous, but there will definitely be some talents. Pat loves to play PF position, but feel comfortable at the SF too. Other talents from NLSC are K.Frydryszek (polish_patcher), S.Nadilo (anubisak) and D.Gudkov (Diddy). Experts believe that these 3 point guards will be drafted at the start of 2nd round. But they can be drafted earlier, because of the lack of PG's in the draft.

Season Standings

ImageImage
ImageImage
ImageImage

New Orleans Hornets are finally not the last in their division. They have the record of 18-11 and now stand in the 3rd place behind the Mavericks and Rockets. Mavericks along with Nuggets are the best West teams at the moment. Blazers as always - at the bottom. In the East Detroit Pistons is currently the best team. The worst - New York Knicks with only 5 wins.

NLSCers in the league

Take a look at the first steps of the NLSC rookies in the league. Darius Tam a.k.a Marquis is the starting SG of the Jazz. He is doing pretty fine as a rookie, averaging 13.7 PPG, 3.6 RPG and 4.8 APG. He helps Jazz to stay competing for the playoffs. Tuomas Vuollo a.k.a Tuomas is the starting point guard of Memphis Grizzlies and has very similar stats as Darius'. He averages 13.5 PPG, 3.9 RPG and 4.6 APG. Thats really good stats for the rookie point guard and he helps the team to stay in the top8 of the West. Aaron Fine a.k.a joyegraham and Conrad Burry a.k.a c0nr4d a bit struggling in the league. Aaron is the backup PG in the Clippers. He is averaging 6.7 PPG, 1.4 RPG and 2.2 APG. Conrad's position is even worse. He has Maurice Williams and Earl Boykins behind him, and he is only 3rd PG of the team. During given minutes he is averaging 3.1 PPG, 1.2 RPG and 2.5 APG.

Finally a good start. 18-11 is quite good I hope you can pull some more wins to get to the Conference Finals more easily. Conners is really a very good allrounder, I like his stats !

Good Luck !

Wed May 02, 2007 3:51 am

Conrad Burry a.k.a c0nr4d a bit struggling in the league. He has Maurice Williams and Earl Boykins behind him, and he is only 3rd PG of the team. During given minutes he is averaging 3.1 PPG, 1.2 RPG and 2.5 APG.

:(

nice work on the recap tho...y'all are playing well (Y)

Pat looks poised to become a first overall pick ;)

Wed May 02, 2007 6:39 am

Good work. Nice to see your team performing well too. Not bad for me :P

Wed May 02, 2007 7:20 pm

Thanks for the comments guys. (Y)

And I have a liitle question. I think Peja`s future as a hornet is done, when I have such a great all-around player Conners, who plays almost at the same place as Peja. So I was looking for a team, willing to trade for him. And I found that Knicks are interested in him and they have some players, that I'm interested. They have huge expiring contract in Francis, who is still able to perform well (This year is the last for Paul, so I will need some extra money to resign him). Also they are stacked at PF position (lol WTF?), so extra power forward wouldn't hurt for us. So I think I might consider doing this trade. What do you think guys?

Wed May 02, 2007 8:15 pm

That Conners guy has some nice all round game. (Y)

 @ Amare's season thus far.

Can't wait till I'm drafted :D

Thu May 03, 2007 2:03 am

I think you should trade Peja. Its just like he is too expensive for a pure shooter anyway and I think he is in decline, just too old. Trade him away. If you want Steve Franchise get him. I think he can be good, but he needs lotta touches which might be difficult with CP3 and Mr. Conners.

But definitely trade Peja!

Thu May 03, 2007 6:19 am

yeah i also think u should trade Peja....and if u get francis then i suggest giving him a lot of touches as well because he isnt doin anything in new york right now...

Thu May 03, 2007 7:16 am

Thanks for the suggestions. All the news you will found out soon in the following recap.

2nd TRIMESTER UPDATE
Hornets trade Peja along with Mason for Francis and Richardson

Trade

ImageImageImage
ImageImageImage

Just before the trade deadline Hornets and Knicks managed to do the deal. Hornets acquired Steve Francis, Quentin Richardson and Mardy Collins for Peja Stojakovic, Desmond Mason and Jannero Pargo. Both sides were happy with the trade and hope that it will benefit the teams in the future. Hornets' GM said, that he is happy with the trade, because we traded away huge contracts in Predrag Stojakovic and Desmon Mason for expiring contract Steve Francis. We cleared up some money for resigning Chris Paul, and now we can be pretty confident about resigning him in the summer. Also we will be able to resign Francis in the offseason, of course for the less money. We also got Quentin Richardson, who is pretty much the same as Peja. Pargo and Collins were just part of the trade. Knicks' GM said, that he is happy they added such a player like Peja to their roster. We had to trade away Francis, because he was not happy here and probably would have been left us in the offseason. Here you can find the Hornets roster after the trade

All-Star event

Four Hornets players were invited to this year's All-Star event. Lawrence Conners participated in the rookie-sophomore game and helped his team to win the match. Former hornet Peja Stojakovic was selected to the 3 point shootout contest again, but was eliminated in the first round. Rookie Furious Hildalgo was the part of Slam Dunk contest and Chris Paul was participating in the All-Star game. West celebrated the victory against East by 10 points.

1. Quentin Richardson will be spark off the bench for the upcoming regular season.
2. Steve Francis will have to replace Peja Stojakovic at the starting SG position.

ImageImage
3. LeBron James demonstrated nice dunks in the game. One of them you can see above.
4. Lawrence Conners' block at the very end of the game let Hornets to grab the win against Cavs.

January and February Calendar

ImageImage

New Orleans Hornets proceeded their success of the first two months. In January and February the team got 15 victories and 8 losses, and now have the record of 33-19. This record lets to be only in the 8th place of the incredibly strong Western Conference. So upcoming months will be even harder than previous. The team now have 3 new players after trade, so they have to adjust quickly and be ready for the challenges.

Stats

Image

Chris Paul remained as the team leader in points and assists. He is making 22.6 points per game and 8.4 assists per game. Lawrence Conners now is the 2nd scorer in the team, since Peja Stojakovic has been traded to the Knicks. He keeps putting nice numbers in rebounds and assists. Tyson Chandler demonstrated almost the same game as in the first months. Newcomers Steve Francis and Quentin Richardson were playing in the starting 5 at the Knicks and they brought such stats. Steve will play at starting SG, while Quentin will have to start his game from the bench. Rookie Furious Hidalgo still impress the team owners with his great game from the bench. He is starting to outrival David West at the power forward position.

January and February Transactions

ImageImage

It was crazy months in the league and a lot of trades happened. At the end of January Nuggets anounced that Kenyon Martin is leaving team for Jason Richardson from Golden State Warriors. After several days in yet another major trade Detroit Pistons acquired Hawks' highflyer Josh Smith for their SG Richard Hamilton. Just before the trade deadline New York Knicks and New Orleans Hornets anounced trade, in which participated 6 players

Season Standings

ImageImage
ImageImage
ImageImage

In the incredibly strong Western Conference New Orleans Hornets, having 33-19 record are only at the 8th place and the last in their division. Memphis Grizzlies is leading this powerful Conference with 37 victories and 14 losses. Eastern conference is much weaker, where only Miami Heat, Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons could compete against Western teams. Indiana Pacers is the weakest team in the league right now.

NLSCers in the league

Darius Tam a.k.a Marquis has improved his statistics a bit and Jazz still fighting for the playoffs. Darius was selected to play in the rookie-sophomore game and was the starting SG of the game. Tuomas Vuollo a.k.a Tuomas is leading his Grizzlies to the top. Memphis is the best team in the league right now and Tuomas is performing really well as the starting point guard. Aaron Fine a.k.a joyegraham was traded from the Clippers to Lakers. Clippers were not happy with his performance, so decided to trade away him to the same city team - Lakers. Aaron now will have to backup Lakers' starting point guard - Monta Ellis. Conrad Burry a.k.a c0nr4d from the Bucks still forced to play behind 2 point guards: Maurice Williams and Earl Boykins. But team owners believe in his future and project him a starting point guard role after the upcoming years.
