How are you going to do the team? Like an add-on to the Euroleague plus the bums of the NBA to make it 30 teams in Euroleague and make it dynasty?

Part 1:

At the beginning of training camp every NBA team got into action, all but one: the Golden State Warriors. GM Chris Mullin and Head Coach Mike Montgomery walked into the Stan Sheriff Center on the campus of the University of Hawaii – Manoa expecting to see the players shooting around or waiting for them to give instructions, instead there was nothing but an empty gym.

Jumping on their phones, Mullin and Montgomery began calling the owner, players’ agents, and the players themselves. Not until after Mullin called ESPN analysis Stuart Scott did he find out that the owner of the team had gone nearly bankrupt, losing nearly 90% of the stake on the team; apparently bank robbers somehow managed to acquired the owner’s bank code, thus leaking out mass amounts of money.

“What the fuck in going on here? Why didn’t we hear of this earlier?” Mullins shouted into his phone to Scott.
“I don’t know? We tried to reach you; you must have been going through some sort of air field or some stuff that prevented you from receiving the calls! But that’s not the matter; the matter is that you guys are most likely out of a job unless you can do something”. Scott replied.

Either way the instant news of possibly losing their jobs and the season shocked the two men so badly Montgomery was screaming into his cell phone while Mullins was just blankly at the stadium windows.

While on Oakland, the players’ agents heard of this news, and ordered their clients to go on strike from the team. Baron Davis’ agent was the only one to speak out publicly. On ESPN Radio at 8 AM Eastern Time, he had told ESPN that “he will not have his client play for a team which cannot even fulfill the contract worthy of a 12th man”. “I will be appealing to the NBA Players Commission and make them see that the best thing that they can do for these players in this unfortunate situation is at least let them become free agents so they can get away from this and start over on new teams.” This will be expected out of every player’s agent on the Warriors, as most likely none will want to play for a team that won’t play them.

The situation was bad for the Warriors, but as Mullins and Montgomery flew back to Oakland, they discovered the owner still had enough money to play for several team staff members, as well as enough to pay to play in the Arena in Oakland for at least one more season. Landing in Oakland, Mullin received a call from the president of the Players Commission.

“Hello? This is Mullin, talk.”
“Hey Chris, this is the president of the Players Commission, I’m just calling you to say that this was such an unfortunate situation, but for the best interest of the players, we can do nothing but allow them at least to be free agents. Really sorry Chris, I know this is hard for you, but we can’t do anything else. Sorry, bye.”

After hanging up, Mullins turned to Montgomery, but he need not say anything because his phone was on speaker and Mike had heard the whole conversation. The two drove to the arena, where the owner and what was left of the organization was to meet. Once they arrived, they discovered the mayor of Oakland Jerry Brown was standing with the owner, several team staff members, but not much else. Brown spoke first:

“Well boys, what are you guys going to do? The news has broken out, and obviously the city isn’t happy. No no, don’t cry Mike, hear me out, we haven’t been sitting on our butts all day crying about it. We took a poll earlier, and the people want a team in Oakland.”
“So what?” Mullin shot back, “what peoples don’t want a NBA team in their city? Of course they’ll say yes.”
“How much money do you have left?” Montgomery asked the owner.
“I’ve got about enough to cover the arena for about another year or two, and though all our players and staff and shitheads have backed out… my main sponsors and endorsers are still in this, and police are tracking those fuckers who stole my money, they can’t possibly hide so much money, sooner or later I’ll get my money back and the players will regret abandoning this organization”, replied the owner.
“OK, so we’re not abandoning ship, but what do we do about staff and players? All those fuckers just want money now, they’re all gone. We received calls from all the agents, and they are all pulling their players out”, asked Mullin.
“The season starts within a month, where are we going to find any good players who are willing to play for even less than the NBA minimum wage?” asked Montgomery.
“Goddamn that’s the hard thing. It would be amazing if we could get a season in… wait! Have you guys seen that Keanu Reeves was in, The Replacements? We don’t have many choices, and to tell you the truth, I don’t have much to lose anymore; we’re at the bottom and can only go up, let’s try it!” The owner proclaimed.
“Hell, that’s true, we can only go up, and I think with some fresh faces maybe we can change the team from that downward spiral that we’re in. But where are you going to get players? Those Euroleague bastards are going to want big money, and we don’t have that”, asked Mullin.
“What about taking players that are effective in their own fields, we don’t need those big names, because big names will want money. Now that you mentioned it, during the off-season I went overseas to check out some talent, and there are some amazing kids that I still keep in contact with, those kids have some talent I think, and I think we should give them a shot, seeing as some new guys might be what this fuckin’ city needs”, proclaimed Montgomery.

With that Montgomery and Mullin, and their depleted staff set off on planes to make calls and picked up these “new talent”. There is no knowledge of the players that Montgomery had in mind, but it was said Montgomery flew to Memphis, Tennessee, Amherst, Massachusetts, Canada, while Mullins took an overseas plane to Australia, Thailand, and other said various other Asian countries. Other scouts went to unknown destinations in Europe. Whoever the new players are, they’d better be good enough for the NBA because no team will take the Warriors any less serious just because of some “replacement players”. If anything other fans will see this as a publicity stunt to earn money, but for the new players, this will be an opportunity of a lifetime and a chance to prove to the league you don’t need to be paid millions of dollars to be a good NBA player.

Yes.
Props to Jing for the CF.
Props to me for the portrait.

If you are not satisfied with both, you can try and ask around if someone else can do it.
