(Sacramento (10-9) @ (8-11) Milwaukee)
Shawn Marion posted a career high in points (47) and Mike Bibby a career high in assists (20) to bury the Milwaukee Bucks who bizarrely lacked any effort until the 4th Q. "Against Phoenix we had to step our game up another level, and I think that continued into today's game, but never let up." commented coach Shing Williams "What we have to do is bring that attitude to every game and there'll be no stopping us.". Both Bibby and Marion complemented each other throughout the matchup tonight, each helping the other towards career performances. "When we hit the same wavelength, it's like it really is in The Matrix movie man." said Bibby of his teammate. The Kings led by 41 points coming into the fourth quarter and, throughout the game, held a commanding lead over the Bucks.
The biggest win of the Kings season comes less than a week after the Phoenix Suns heavy handed punishment on Sunday and shows that the Kings have what it takes to bounce back against such setbacks. The Kings can now have a rest for a while because coming up next is All-Star Weekend 2006, except for Shawn Marion who's been picked to play.

Andrew Bynum [LAL] starts for the rookies in today's game despite not having played a game yet in his career! Many fans suggested that EA need spanking for not setting up all-star selection properly! Sarunas Jasikevicius' [IND] first year form is very impressive considering he shares the scoring rights on his team with Jermaine O'Neal and Peja Stojakovic. Sebastian Telfair [POR] of the Sophomores is actually looking like being No.1 in the most improved player of the year category, leading his team in both points, assists and steals. In his first year he averaged (6.8ppg, 3.3apg and .51spg), starting just 26 of 68 games for the Blazers. But this year he's dominating his teams output with (21.2ppg, 7.9apg and 2.3spg)!

Around the League at the All-Star Break: A bizarre switch of circumstances on Tuesday saw the Milwaukee Bucks (9-11) actually beat the Phoenix Suns (17-3)!! In the middle of all this is bemused Sacramento Kings GM Shing Williams, who were held throughout by Phoenix but dominated the Bucks in both games last week. A balancing of power between the Pistons (18-5) and Suns (17-3) looks likely to occur, with the Pistons picking up their 8th Win in a row against New York (10-12) on Wednesday (DET 103 - 71 NYK).
Seattle(7-9) still leads the Northwest Division despite a 4 game losing streak!
The Wizards(2-17) finally picked up their 2nd win of the season against Orlando(9-10) (WAS 106 - 87 ORL) in which Gilbert Arenas scored 49 points, though they have lost two games since and are still bottom of the league behind Chicago(3-16), Charlotte(3-16) and New Orleans/Okla(6-13)

And superb stats for Saras

Nice coverage and nice win over the Bucks, I like it, keep it up !!

Disappointingly for viewers, Milwaukee Bucks Power Forward Andrew Bogut left the game less than a minute after it began when he sustained a leg injury (see screenshot 1) that kept him out of the entire days action. But that didn't depress the Rookies at all as they played out a close game with last years draftees and in the end edged it by only 3 points. The Sophomores provided most of the highlights, TJ Ford linked up well with Dwight Howard, Andre Iguodala and Josh Smith on several alley-oops! But it was Marvin Williams who provided for the Rooks and was gifted MVP honors.

Shawn Marion (90dnk, 85jmp), Kobe Bryant (93dnk, 95jmp), Kevin Martin (80dnk, 70jmp), Hakim Warrick (90dnk, 87jmp)
Two Kings players were invited to participate in this years 'Sprite Rising Stars' NBA Slam Dunk Competition! It was an honor enough that Shawn Marion was invited to join, but he was also a likely candidate with 90dnk skill and 85jmp. However, it was the surprise inclusion of 2nd year guard Kevin Martin that baffled some analysts who said the 6'7" Martin didn't belong in the competition.
Most of the best dunks were in the first round, Shawn Marion was unlucky to leave after the 1st. Both Kobe Bryant and Hakim Warrick were less than impressive in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, but the surprise from Sacramento; Kevin Martin stole the crowd and the applause for the day and won the 2006 slam-dunk crown!!

Hey, glad you like it! Uhmmm, there's not been LOADS of trades.... just ones with my Kings and the Suns, plus the Nuggets & Warriors made a trade too.

I had a huge highlights video for this, but my program crashed when I was finishing it and I figured the 3pt Competition isn't the most fun to watch anyway, so there's no movie for this section of All Star Weekend, sry!
Once again the participants in the competition are a bit suspect to say the least: Only Bibby, Lewis and Billups actually rate above 80 3pt rating! And the inclusion of chokers like Baron Davis, Tyron Lue and Chris Paul with a measley 63 is just a joke?!! I think maybe Peja Stojakovic, Dirk Nowitzki, Ray Allen, Kyle Korver and last years winner Quentin Richardson might be a bit pissed at being overlooked! Anyway, here are the participants and their 3pt ratings:
Mike Bibby (SAC): 80
Rashard Lewis (SEA): 83
Chucky Atkins (MEM): 73
Baron Davis (DEN): 71
Chris Paul (NOK): 63
Tyron Lue (ATL): 68
Chauncey Billups (DET): 83
Jason Terry (DAL): 78
Round One:

Round Two: Chris Paul won the tiebreaker with Chauncey Billups

Final Round: Chris Paul actually makes it to the final round! But gets his ass kicked! Congratulations to Dallas' Jason Terry!

All Star Weekend culminates tonight in the traditional matchup between East and West in the NBA All Star Game, 2006. The fans have been voting and the teams chosen to headline tonights performance are outlined below.
There are no surprises in the starting lineups except that Chauncey Billups starts ahead of fan favourite Allen Iverson for the first time! Kudos to the Memphis Grizzlies though who are represented by three bench players this season and the Minnesota Timberwolves who've managed to have both their superstar Kevin Garnett and two-guard Ricky Davis in the West team. Detroit are represented three times in the East. Miami and Houston are both represented twice in the starting lineups by their centers and shooting guards. Just how Chucky Atkins bribed his way into the All Star team and the previous 3 point competition is beyond me... lol.
