Retro Night in Houston Turns into Blow-OutBehind 57% shooting and a 23-9 start to the game, the HEAT rode a comfortable cushion throughout the game and cruised to a 126-92 win in Houston.
Dwyane Wade had it going early on with 15 points in the first quarter. The HEAT trailed 5-4, but quickly jumped ahead big behind 12 unanswered points. Kyrie Irving scored 7 of his 17 in the period.
Chris Bosh got on the board with a dunk in the second quarter, and Udonis Haslem was big off the bench in the second as he had 10 points in the second quarter. Chase Budinger had 2 triples in the quarter and with 4 minutes left, the Rockets managed to trim the lead to 8, the smallest since it was 13-5.
But after halftime, the HEAT went on their way. They led by 18 and Jimmer Fredette knocked down a three as the buzzer sounded to put the HEAT up 21.
In the fourth, both teams started to empty their benches and the HEAT still increased the lead. Rudy Gay had 12 points in the fourth, playing the playmaker with the second unit. Haslem added 8 points to his total while the Rockets couldn't compete with the visitors. Yao Ming was put in to bring some offense in, but he fouled out.
The HEAT now stand at 52-17 and a have won 3 straight and 6 of their last 7. They will now have 3 days off before taking on Milwaukee in Miami.

Your hatred towards the HEAT IRL is surely reflected in your virtual player.

Seems like it

too bad we couldn't get the win though
Good stuff getting through the ASW and powering through the second half of the season, can't wait for the playoffs

Wade and Irving lead HEAT over Knicks in Garden ShootoutWith three quarters of no defense, both teams eclipsed the 100-point mark at the end of the third quarter. But led by defensive specialist Udonis Haslem (career-high 6 blocks), the HEAT clamped down on defense for a 124-120 win.
Both teams couldn't miss, with the Knicks on fire from mid-range and behind the three-point line and the HEAT dominating the paint (74 points in the paint).
The Knicks led most of the way and when the HEAT got within striking distance, the Knicks would have a new weapon ready to go. Bill Walker made 4 straight threes in the second quarter and with the Knicks bigs in foul trouble, Anthony Randolph had 12 of his 14 in the third.
Playing without Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks didn't miss a step.
In crunch time, it wasn't Wade as usual, but rookie Kyrie Irving, who abused Chauncey Billups. Billups couldn't keep up with the rookie and Irving scored 14 of Miami's 24 in the fourth.
Wade had 22 points in the first half, but picked up 7 of his assists in the second half, including a key pass to Rudy Gay for a three-pointer that put the HEAT up 122-118 with less then a minute to go.
The HEAT will take on the Celtics tomorrow to start a 3-game home-stand.

Huge game in NY, but nice play from all your stars and Bill Walker to get the win.
Azu with 37 points? Only in 2K11.

Especially with Carmelo this would make for a sweet playoff series

You have the final scores in the box score mixed up

Azubuike!

And look at me doing an all-around game by those stats. Like it.

Manimalia, Azi has always killed me in 2K, not only does he knock down every jump-shot, but he's LeBron-like in the open court with big dunks.
.dan, will have to check the standings, but it def would be nice. Last year I beat them 4-1 in the first round, plus HEAT-Knicks go way back.
Justine., you started in Melo's place, but you took just 4 shots. Last time I played you came off the bench and had that many shots in like 8 minutes or so...

Winning streak reaches 5 as HEAT knock off Celtics behind Bosh's big nightDwyane Wade was just 6-17 from the field, but had 8 of his 19 in the final quarter, including 6 of the HEAT's final 13 points in a 13-2 run that closed out the game. Win number 55 matches last years win total.
The HEAT got off to a good start, shaking off the defensive nightmare in New York less then 24 hours earlier. The Celtics missed 6 of their first 7 shots and shot 34% in the first quarter.
The second quarter looked like New York all over again. The HEAT allowed 31 points and the Celtics took a one-point lead into the break.
Rudy Gay had it going early with 15 points in the first half. He took on the scoring load, as Wade was 2-10 from the field in the first half. To compensate, Wade took over the play-making duties and had 7 first-half assists.
Third quarter belonged to Chris Bosh, as he scored 15 points, not bothered by being hassled by one of the best, Kevin Garnett. Instead, he forced the Celtics to even double-team him.
With Jimmer Fredette knocking down his only three-pointer as the buzzer sounded, the HEAT held a slim, 2-point lead with 12 minutes to go.
The game was close down to the final 2 minutes, from then, the HEAT were in control. Wade had 2 dunks and as Rudy Gay made his 2nd three of the quarter, the HEAT were up 93-87. Ray Allen missed another three on a miserable night from down-town (1-10) for him and the rest of the game was settled at the foul line, where Wade and Bosh didn't miss.
Win #55 matches their 2010-11 total and is still short of the 96-97 record total of 61, a goal Wade has tried to reach for years, coming close with 59 in his second season in the league.

DDAAAYM. Nice job by Bosh. Haven`t been following for a while, gonna catch up

SuperHueyNewton, he usually shoots well against me, but Wade has been a beast defensively, (1.7 steals and 1.5 blocks I think) I hope he gets DPOY, though Dwight or Josh Smith will probably get it.
Cruzerr, thanks, he has been awesome, him not making the All-Star team was a travesty. Will check yours too, good to see you active again.

Both teams couldn't score early on. Chris Bosh made a baby-hook for the first bucket after 3 minutes of playing-time. with 7 minutes gone, the HEAT led 8-4. Both teams picked up their offense and the quarter 18-15.

The HEAT held a 7-point half-time lead, but the Magic would score the first 8 points of the third quarter to bring the game close again.
