All-Star Saturday - Sophomores (132) - Rookies (82)
Sit came off the bench, scored as many points as his teammate Mayberry in 21 minutes, and took the MVP honors.
Will Sit and Ocho Huit both scored 24 points as the Sophomores beat the Rookies for the second straight year, this time by 50, 132-82.
Now a 2-time All-Star Thierry Tirieux scored 23 points, Lenny Crabman added 15 and Jerry Dieudonne had 19. Carl Cruz was a key in the second half run by the sophomores with his defense, he finished with 9 points, 7 assists and 4 steals.
Stephon Mayberry led the rookies with 24, Bobby Stokes of the Raptors added 20 and Bill Kron and Adika Marshall both had 12. Brady O'Neal was productive off the bench with 8 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds in 10 minutes.
Sophomores shot the ball 68% from the floor, a perfect 10-10 from the line and 8/14 (57%) from long range. The rookies also shot 10-10 from the stripe, but made 47% of their field goals and just 17% of their threes (2-12).
The Sophomores out-rebounded the Rookies 28-23, had 24 assists to 16 by the rookies and 6 blocks to just 2 from the Rookies. The biggest difference came from steals, 15-3 in facor of the Sophomores.
After a 13-0 run to start the game, Stephon Mayberry finally put the rookies on the scoreboard with a jumper. The closest the Rookies got was 12, with the score 25-13. But they didn't the sophomores get too far, as the difference didn't go over 22 points. At halftime, the sophomores were up 71-52. Thierry Tirieux hit a shot at the buzzer to set the score.
In the second half, the rookies just didn't have it against the talented sophomore squad. They were out-scored 81-30, made just 11 field goals to 31 by the sophomores. They shot 32% in the second half, while the sophomores shot the lights out with 75%.
"We had the talent to beat them by 50 and we did just that. These draft classes aren't even comparable. They have no-one other then my boy Mayberry and Brady, my teammate with the national team. I guess that British guy (referencing to Bobby Stokes) has some game too, but nothing compared to me." said Sit after the match.
Thierry Tirieux will take the floor again on Sunday during the All-Star game, while Will Sit will participate in the Foot-Locker 3PT Shootout tomorrow.

You average 21-10-2 while the starter Nene averages 14-10-1.5. The All-Stars don't make any sense.
