We do not believe there is any turmoil on the team, the Coach and the players are taking the proper actions to accommodate everyone in a way that best helps the organization, now and in the future.

We have complete faith in Coach Del Negro and how he will develop the franchise's young core.

The league has made a big mistake, but we can are taking the investigation seriously and will do what we must to ease through this period quickly

In rregards to the Brian Cook offseason signing
President Andy Roser
Mr. Sterling thought he was the cheapest free agent that would be willing to sign here.

can't really blame him

Cook was practically out of the league...the more of his players he can get signed (to 2 years none the less) the more $$ he can get for himself

all he had to do was convince a certain player to feel like he was in a bad place and needed a scenery change...the change meaning going home was only making it too easy for him

let's see how things turn out

George7 wrote:I'm really confused with all the breaking news here!

haha do i need to tone it down?

its hard because the schedule is adjusted because of the real schedule conflicting with the game's training camp...im not sure anyone noticed by the clippers are on a 4 games in 4 nights kind of thing....also things just randomly come up...i try to spread them out but not enough time between games

recap of news, just for u George7
Bledsoe angle:
Bledsoe pulled during opening game
did not play against warriors
GM has faith in coach

young angle:
unhappy with wizards
clippers make trade
Baron/Miller have comments (UCLA vs USC)
rumors of tampering
young/cook suspended because the rumors are about their agent Aaron Mintz
president roser says they signed cook in the offseason for other reason...no tampering, just coincidence

in other news
AI to kings?
Ron Artest injured

NBA Injury

Postby KidJustin on Sat Aug 21, 2010 5:56 pm

LeBron James Injured
Image

The Miami Heat, lead by 62 points from LeBron James and 25 points from Dwyane Wade defeat the New Jersey Nets on Halloween night to keep the team at a perfect 4-0 on the early season. But the real loss may have come to the Miami Heat as they announced after the game that James will be out for about 2 weeks from a broken finger.

James went up for a dunk over the Net's Brook Lopez late in the 4th quarter. When James landed, his face showed a large amount of pain, but he did not signal that he needed to go to the bench. During the next time out, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra asked James if he wanted to sit and let the trainers evaluate him. James shook his head and went back in the game. After the game, Heat trainer Sergio Souza determined a break in James left ring finger after he reported that "there was too much pain to hold in."

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are expected to be able to handle the scoring load left by the team's (and the league's) leading scorer, but the real test will come to whether the Heat bench can step up.

One eastern conference GM said: "It's time to see what MIami's Big 2 can do"

George7, yup this will be very exciting. i can't wait to see what the team does....in their nets game, they had 4 DNP and the big 3 were the only ones to score in double digits while the nets had at least 5 players in double figures.

good think LeBron should be back by the time i face the heat...i really want a challenge and looking forward to writing about that game

EDIT: check out the last line, I added something

right now the only undefeated teams are:
Miami Heat 4-0
New Orleans Hornets 3-0
LA Clippers 2-0
Indiana Pacers 2-0
Dallas Mavericks 2-0

Clippers and Mavericks face off against each other tonight and the Pacers have a game tonight against the Sixers, while the Hornets have 4 days of rest

It was a close match between 2 of the 3 undefeated teams in the West. Early on Dirk Nowitzki took advantage and kept Blake Griffin away from the basket, which lead to a low rebounding night for Griffin (7 Rebounds). The Mavericks kept it close with good 3 point shooting by Jason Kidd and Caron Butler.
Image Image

But the Clippers would lead as high as 20 due to foul trouble from both Butler and Shawn Marion. The Mavericks came back in the 4th quarter and tied it up at around the 4 minute mark. With some clutch shooting by Eric Gordon, the Clippers would have a 4 point lead when Coach Vinny Del Negro instructed his players to slow the play down and try to kill as much time as possible. However, Nowtizki would tie the game on a jump shot with 32 seconds remaining. After Clippers take the lead by 2, Marion hits a corner jumper with 9.8 seconds remaining to tie, Clippers call timeout.

On the inbound, Gordon gets the ball and a pick from Griffin. He drives to the rim where Chandler starts to move to help, the shot is contested by Gordon manages to get it up. The ball bounces on the rim.............and it rolls around..............

and it rolls out :( and we are going into overtime!

Overtime is a battle of the power forwards as Blake and Dirk match each other score by score. With another chance to tie, Dirk is at the line.
NBA Commentator Steve Kerr:
He is one of their best free throw shooters.

Dirk would proceed to miss both free throws. Dirk would battle back and tie the game with 26 seconds remaining. Griffin takes the lead on a layup with less than 6 seconds remaining. Clippers fall asleep on defense as Dirk drills a 2 pointer at the top of the key with 0.5 seconds remaining. Clippers fail to get up a shot attempt as we go into DOUBLE OVERTIME.

In this overtime, Gordon took over again for the Clippers, hitting 2 3 pointers in the second overtime, in route to a career high 42 points.

Clippers Commentators Ralph Lawler and Mike Smith on the 3 point exchange in the second OT:
Lawler: BINGO!!! The Clippers with a 4 point lead after a beautiful 3 pointer from the young Eric Gordon.
Smith: That was a great move by Baron to get him the ball
Lawler: Butler on the other side, Bingo! A 3 of his own and he cuts the lead down to 1. Fasten your seat belts, gang. We're going down to the wire!
Smith: Baron with another nice layup to put them up back up by 3.
Lawler: BINGO! Butler for another 3! He just tied the game! Oh me, Oh my Clippers fans! As I said, seat-belts are mandatory in overtime folks!
Lawler: BINGO!!!! Eric Gordon with another 3!! Clippers up by 3! Oh me Oh my!

However, the Mavericks would finally take a 1 point lead after 2 free throws by Dirk with 48 second remaining, Clippers call timeout. They draw up a play to get Gordon a clear path to the basket, but he misses. Luckily Griffin is there to clean it up and take a 1 point lead. Butler would miss a shot attempt and the Clippers get the rebound and outlet to Davis, who is intentionally fouled by Kidd. Gordon would then be fouled by Butler, who fouled out at that point. Gordon goes 1-1 from the stripe.

Dallas had one last chance to win the game, but Al-Farouq Aminu intercepts a pass to DeShawn Stevenson, who intentionality fouled him right after with 7 seconds to go. Aminu missed both free throws, but with the Mavericks out of timeouts they were forced to dribble it up the court where Kidd threw up a prayer from half court, which sails right. The Clippers dodge a bullet and stay undefeated for another night.

Clippers Transaction

Postby KidJustin on Sat Aug 21, 2010 9:38 pm

After 7 year wait, Big Sofo joins the Clippers

Image

The Los Angeles Clippers have announced the signing of their 2003 2nd Round Draft Pick Sofoklis Schortsanitis to a 3 year contract worth $7M.

Sofo:
I am happy to finally being in the NBA. I know I will still have to prove myself after my summer league performance. But I know I am much better than that because summer league play is a joke and the plays were too below the level I play in Europe. If I had gotten the ball more, I would have been able to show my full set of skills.

Skills is what the (very) big man does have. Listed at 345lbs, he is quite nimble on his feet and agile for a man his size. He showed all of this being a 2 time all-star in the Greek league as well as his stellar performance against high caliber NBA players such as Chris Bosh and Elton Brand during the 2006 FIBA World Championships.

Sofo:
People keep comparing me to Shaq, but I am a much different player. I am much faster and mobile. You will all see.

Sofo could make his debut tomorrow night against the Spurs at Staples Center.

High-scoring teams average about 107-110 ppg, so 133 is very high.
