Rookie Hazing, Part II
It's Halloween night here at Staples as the team is ready to face off against the Dallas Mavericks. Tonight the rookies all dressed into costumes that the veterans assigned to each rookie. See the pictures below:
Al-Farouq Amiu as a Chief
Eric Bledsoe as Eric Cartman from South Park
Willie Warren as Groundskeeper Willy from the Simpsons
LeBron James Injured
The Miami Heat, lead by 62 points from LeBron James and 25 points from Dwyane Wade defeat the New Jersey Nets on Halloween night to keep the team at a perfect 4-0 on the early season. But the real loss may have come to the Miami Heat as they announced after the game that James will be out for about 2 weeks from a broken finger.
James went up for a dunk over the Net's Brook Lopez late in the 4th quarter. When James landed, his face showed a large amount of pain, but he did not signal that he needed to go to the bench. During the next time out, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra asked James if he wanted to sit and let the trainers evaluate him. James shook his head and went back in the game. After the game, Heat trainer Sergio Souza determined a break in James left ring finger after he reported that "there was too much pain to hold in."
Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are expected to be able to handle the scoring load left by the team's (and the league's) leading scorer, but the real test will come to whether the Heat bench can step up.
One eastern conference GM said: "It's time to see what MIami's Big 2 can do"

He is one of their best free throw shooters.
Lawler: BINGO!!! The Clippers with a 4 point lead after a beautiful 3 pointer from the young Eric Gordon.
Smith: That was a great move by Baron to get him the ball
Lawler: Butler on the other side, Bingo! A 3 of his own and he cuts the lead down to 1. Fasten your seat belts, gang. We're going down to the wire!
Smith: Baron with another nice layup to put them up back up by 3.
Lawler: BINGO! Butler for another 3! He just tied the game! Oh me, Oh my Clippers fans! As I said, seat-belts are mandatory in overtime folks!
Lawler: BINGO!!!! Eric Gordon with another 3!! Clippers up by 3! Oh me Oh my!

If we hit our free throws we wouldn't of need 2 overtimes. Now we will be tired against the Spurs in our next game tomorrow...
After 7 year wait, Big Sofo joins the Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers have announced the signing of their 2003 2nd Round Draft Pick Sofoklis Schortsanitis to a 3 year contract worth $7M.
Sofo:I am happy to finally being in the NBA. I know I will still have to prove myself after my summer league performance. But I know I am much better than that because summer league play is a joke and the plays were too below the level I play in Europe. If I had gotten the ball more, I would have been able to show my full set of skills.
Skills is what the (very) big man does have. Listed at 345lbs, he is quite nimble on his feet and agile for a man his size. He showed all of this being a 2 time all-star in the Greek league as well as his stellar performance against high caliber NBA players such as Chris Bosh and Elton Brand during the 2006 FIBA World Championships.
Sofo:People keep comparing me to Shaq, but I am a much different player. I am much faster and mobile. You will all see.
Sofo could make his debut tomorrow night against the Spurs at Staples Center.

End of any racist discussion.
