Hey guys, I've got one last trade idea before I finally stick with this team permanently.

I can't stand Dunleavy's shot in the game and he's barely cutting it for us, so I was thinking of trading him for somebody I'm a bit more familiar with. So...

What do you guy's think of a trade with me sending Mike Dunleavy and Eddie Jones to New Orleans for...

Morris Peterson (Veteran guard that can back up Rush) and Rasual Butler.

I'm real adapt to playing with Mo Pete because I used the Hornet's a lot online and got use to his shot. So let me know what you guy's think.

Would be a pretty good trade although I think Eddie Jones' rating might be too high and thus you may get two decent players for Dunleavy. Would be a very good trade for you.

Nice win against the Magic. Good job to keep Dwight Howard limited to 8 and 4. Jack finally had an impact.

I'm not too familiar with Peterson or Butler, but you should go for it. Good win against Orlando.

Yeah, thanks a lot. And you're right about he trade. I'll revise it and make it a bit more even.

Yeah I finally got Jack to score a bit more. And I must admit, I love his jumpshot. Lol

Thanks a lot. And once i get a decent person to make it a pretty even trade, Butler and Peterson will be great 3 point compliments to Hibbert and Frye off the bench.

Disgruntled Dunleavy Dealt in Trade to New Orleans
November 25, 2009

Image Image Image Image

Indianapolis, Indiana- Trying to get a bit more experience off the bench, GM AD has decided to ship off the underachieving SF, Mike Dunleavy and SG, Eddie Jones (As a throw in) to the New Orlean's Hornets in exchange for three point assassin, SG, Moe Peterson and SF, Rasual Butler. Along with the player swaps, Indiana will also send over their 2010 2nd round draft pick.

Indiana Trade Grade: B

AD's purpose in this trade was to send off Dunleavy due to his underachieving start to the season. Dunleavy is averaging 7.9 points per game and seem's to be having trouble finding his shot. This led to less touches, and less touches led to trade talks. Now Dunleavy will look to start again in New Orleans with a point guard in Chris Paul that'll find way's of getting Dunleavy to find his shot. Eddie Jone's was thrown in for salary cap purposes.

Even with that, the Hornet's weren't pleased with the trade as they thought they were giving up too much for Dunleavy and Jone's so they called upon a 2nd round pick which Indiana was more than happy to let go. Peterson will look to play alongisde Rasual Butler off the bench to give Indiana a few veteran's to play with and to compliment the inside game of Hibbert and Frye off the bench.

New Orlean's Trade Grade: B-

With the trade of Moe Peterson, this leaves New Orlean's with a weak spot at the 2. Fortunately for them, they gain a 6'9" Small Forward who is use to playing the 2 so Dunleavy can easily fit into that role for the Hornet's. However, they don't exactly know what they'll be getting from Dunleavy- will they be getting the underachieving one or the Dunleavy who played a huge role for Indiana ever since he got there from Golden State.

Rasual Butler was merely thrown in to make salary cap's work. However, losing Butler won't exactly hurt the Hornet's as they have Julian Wright, James Posey and Peja Stojakovic already so the trade makes sense. In fact, Indiana might even waive Butler's contract as he is in his final year and he will relieve Indiana of $4,000,000 this summer. Besides, Indiana has up and coming Rodney Carney to back up Granger so keeping Butler wouldn't make much sense.

Overall Trade Grade: B

"1.9 SECONDS IS ALL IT TAKES FOR GRANGER TO PUT ROCKETS AWAY"
_______________________________________
RECAP | SUMMARY | GAME STATS | INJURIES

1st Quarter: A very high scoring quarter in which both team's shot over 50%. For Indiana, Danny Granger led the team with 8 point's as they put on a solid inside out game. newly acquired, Moe Peterson showed off his outside game as he went 2 for 2 from behing the arc off the bench. The team's defense, however, is another story. The Pacers' defense could not find an answer for the red hot Tracy McGrady who simply ran all over them.

McGrady led both team's in point's with 18 first quarter points. McGrady just couldn not be stopped this quarter as he shot everything from 3 pointer's, to layups, to dunk's, to 12 footer's, etc... His counter-part's, Artest and Yao Ming had a slow start as they combined for 7 point's with Yao Ming grabbing board's. Benchwise, Brent Barry led the charge with 7 point's. [34-28: Rocket's Lead]

2nd Quarter: The second quarter was filled with high scoring action just like the first. Being led by Roy Hibbert and Moe Peterson, the Pacer's out scored the Rockets, 32-21. Despite the huge difference, the score reamined tight at halftime. The Pacer's defense began to show up as Wade Henry, Channing Frye, Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert all had block's by the end of the first half. One downfall however, left Indiana's big men to be out-rebounded by Brandon Rush (4).

T-Mac was finally stopped as he went scoreless the entire period going 0 for 2 against Indiana. As a team, the Rocket's shot 43% as they were led by Shane Battier who scored 11 point's in the quarter to keep the Rocket's within respectable reach. Yao Ming and Ron Artest still didn't do much to help the team as Yao scored 2 point's and Artest when 0 for 1. [60-55: Pacer's Lead]

3rd Quarter: This proved to be a bumpy quarter for the Pacer's as they shot a game worst, 32% from the field. They were nailing some pretty good shot's but in the end, the Rocket's defense finally caught up to them and they were forced to 6 of 19 shooting. Morris Peterson struggled in this quarter going 1 for 5 after having a decent first half. In fact, the Pacer's were led by Granger who only had 4 point's!

For Houston, who shot 40% from the field, Yao Ming led this comeback with 6 points followed by Luis Scola and Aaron Brooks with 4 point's apiece. The Rocket's put up a fight which gave them the lead ending the 3rd. Tracy McGrady still couldn't get any more shot's in as he didn't even attempt a shot the entire 3rd quarter and Ron Artest still struggled as he also didn't get a shot attempt. [77-76: Rocket's Lead]

4th Quarter: Before we take you into the "The Play," you must first understand that Danny Granger did not hit nor attempt a three-point shot up until this point. Now with that in mind let's begin: With 9.8 second left on the clock and Indiana leading by 1, the Rocket's inbounded the ball and ran a play for Yao Ming who got fouled while attempting to shoot. Yao made both free throws. Now with 5.4 seconds left, the Pacer's ran a play in which Granger, who was hot this whole quarter, got fouled by T-Mac in the paint. Granger makes two.

Now, with 2.6 seconds left, T-Mac inbounds the ball to Aaron Brooks who dribbles for a few seconds before draining the 3, PLUS THE FOUL. Brook's makes one, Rocket's up by two. With one timeout remaining the Pacer's used it and used it to sub in Morris Peterson who's had a stellar game from behind the arc. 1.9 seconds left, and the ref counting to 4, Wade Henry inbounds the ball directly to Granger who has Shane Battier covering him at the top of the arc. Granger jab step's, back's up and launches a quick rainbow over Battier.

The first three-pointer attempted by Granger all game and... it's good. Pacer's upset Houston at home by 1 point. I won't even continue to go into stat's or whatnot. Just read, "The Play," and that should top any stat(s) I usually post here. Great win for Indiana as they are now 2 game's away from closing out the first month. [109-108: Pacer's Win]

Tell me about it. I just chucked it up there and I notice that it was going staright and thought to myself, "This better go in before I go crazy!" Lol

But yeah, Peterson really helped us off the bench unlike Mike "Underachieving" Dunleavy. :D

Liking the presentation style. Nice and detailed giving a quarter-by-quarter synopsis. I remember I tried doing that for a few dynasties when I first started out but I grew tired of writing such long recaps and I played like only half a season.

I like the trade that you made for Peterson and Butler. I like how you traded Dunleavy based on his production in the game rather than trying to make some sort of lopsided trade. Of course being a Raptor fan it's always nice to see Peterson seeing quality minutes in the rotation. Glad to see that he made a strong debut.

Thanks a lot man. I needed to do something to replace the fact that I don't use pictures in my recaps except for the team stats and top performers so I came up with doing quarter by quarter summaries.

And yeah like I'vesaid, i had experience playing with Morris Peterson and getting use to hit shot so he was a must have on my team, he can replace Dunleavy's three point shot and as you can tell from his debut, he's much more productive with me than Dunleavy was. Plus Dunleavy's contract is done in 2 years and DUnleavy's was in 3 so this could possibly help me later on.

Pacer's Finish November As One of the Top Team's in the League
December 1, 2009

Image
Danny Granger led the Pacer's to a surprising 11-5 record in November.

Indianapolis, Indiana- Coming into the season with high hopes and expectation's, the Indiana Pacer's underwent major changes in the roster that changed their starting line-up's and most importantly, their bench. But first we must start with the guy that led his team to this surprising start to the season, Danny Granger.

The Pacers' 6'8" All-Star took it upon himself to single handedly take this team to the top. With new General Manager, AD, who gave Granger the go ahead to do anything to get win's, the Pacer's put on a performance that no one will forget this month. They took on the defending NBA Champions in the Atlanta Hawks... and won. They beat the Boston Celtics, the Orlando Magic and the Houston Rocket's with Granger performing at high level's in each of those games. The spot light of the month for the Pacer's occurred during the team's 6-game win streak late in the month as they took team's like Boston, Washington, Orlando and Atlanta and beat them.

Granger wasn't the only Pacer getting thing's done. Brandon Rush has emerged as a reliable counter-part to Danny Granger as well as Roy Hibbert who's been putting on a defensive clinic. Along with these three players, the Pacer's have mixed n matched the team with different player's. This lead's us to discuss the trades that made Indiana a very dangerous team to play.

Oh- and who can forget, in 8 day's they will be getting T.J. Ford back after 40+ day's of sitting on the bench due to an injury.

First, a trade that many didn't expect, Mike Dunleavy whose made a name for himself ever since arriving in Indiana was traded for Moe Peterson of the New Orlean's Hornets. Dunleavy wasn't exactly performing to his potential and GM AD noticed that immediately. Dunleavy showed a lack of happiness within the Pacers' front office ever since AD stepped up as GM and it only grew worse as AD finally sent away the 6'9" Forward/Guard. Many expected the trade to favor New Orleans, but after seeing Peterson's debut against Houston, it made them think otherwise.

Now we move on to the most expected trade of the season. After acquiring Wade Henry in the NBA Draft, the future of Troy Murphy didn't look so bright. Not only did Murphy collapse under the pressure of being replaced by a rookie, but that pressure forced him to perform subpar which was not cutting it for AD. For that, he traded Murphy to Philadelphia for Samuel Dalembert to give the Pacers an extra stud on defense to go along side Roy Hibbert and Channing Frye.

Speaking of Frye, even before the season the Pacer's began a trade that would actually increase the morale of the team as they traded away Jamaal Tinsley to the Blazers for Channing Frye. This move proved to be beneficial for the Pacer's as they now have length and athleticism at the Power Forward position to back up Wade Henry and Frye has played great within O' Brien's system. The Blazer's then responded to the trade by signing Jason Kidd.

As of right now, the Indiana Pacer's are 11-5 and are 6th in the NBA as far a record (With the Los Angeles Clipper's taking #1 with a record of 13-5). The Pacer's are among one of the top 10 offensive team's in the league (10th) shooting at .445% and are the 2nd best free throw shooting team behind New Orleans with .816% free throws made. The real story however, is the rise of their defense ever since acquiring Frye, Dalembert, Henry and developing Hibbert.

The Pacer's are first in the league with steals (9.0) and blocked shots per game (5.6) as they are the league's #1 defensive team overall.

Overall, the future seem's to be very bright for the Pacer's. NBA analyst, Stephen A. Smith referred to the Pacer's as, "A team that nobody should sleep on now nor the post season." However, thing's can turn around quickly as Indiana is known for entering a season hot but ending it in a mess. With that, we leave you with the team stats through November.

PASSION. PRIDE. PACERS: AN INDIANA PACERS ASSOCIATION

CHAPTER THREE: GOOD START, EVEN BETTER OUTCOME

After a great 11-5 start, the Indiana Pacer's were on an early track to having a successful season. Danny Granger was performing like the All-Star everyone pegged him to be and Brandon Rush began developing into a great complimentary piece to Granger and the Pacers' offense. However, what was about to transpire shocked not only the roster but the entire front office as well.

Walking towards the practice facility, General Manager, AD, and Head Coach, Jim O' Brien began discussing plan's for next month and the return of T.J. Ford. "So what do you think we should do when T.J. come's back Jim?" Jim responded, "Well Jack is performing very well and I don't want to rush Ford into the line-up. I mean, I know Ford will be huge for us when he returns but I think he should work his way back into the starting line-up." AD agreed to Jim's decision and Jim continued.

"When we started the season, we decided that Ford was our guy and we will stick behind our words, but I want him to get use to playing first before really going back into action." Just then, AD and O' Brien opened the gym door's and found both of their centers, Samuel Dalembert and Roy Hibbert on the ground in what appeared to be a fight in which most of the player's were trying to pull both of the 7-footer's apart. Jim and AD ran straight to the fight and confronted both men who released their grip's of each other when they saw their head coach, redder than the color red.

"What the hell is going on here, huh!?!" Jim exclaimed. "He started it!" Hibbert explained as he was breathing heavily. "This n---- ran his mouth and he got served for it!" Just then Dalembert came across with a right hook knocking Hibbert off his feet. Hibbert immediately got up and the two center began going at it again before Jim had seen enough and separated the two. "That's it! Sam get over there and Roy you stay right here right now! Can somebody tell me what the hell just happened?"

The team captain, Danny Granger stepped up and explained the situation to Jim. "Check it coach, we were running a scrimmage where Sam and Roy were on opposite teams. I did notice that those two were getting pretty physical jocking each other for position and at one point Sam got Roy with an elbow like Dwight did to Sam in the Playoffs. But anyways, I came down the court and passed the ball downlow to Sam and he began throwing little elbows at Roy till Roy just got mad and shoved Sam to the ground." Jim interrupted, "So the fight started when Roy shoved Sam?"

"Kinda," Granger said. "You see, after the shove they got into each other's faces and started mouthing off to each other while everybody was telling them to calm down. Then Sam said something about how that's why you aint starting you little b----. Then Roy came back at him saying that's why you got punked by Dwight in the Playoff's cause he knew he was playing a b----. And basically from that point, all hell just broke loose, coach.

Hearing this, Jim had so many thought's going on through his head that he couldn't quite comprehend all this. This was probably one of the most unexpected thing's to happen to a team that started 11-5. He turned to AD and they began discussing punishment. AD calmed Jim down and said, "I understand Jim, I know you don't want to loose both player's due to suspension so I'll figure something out but until then you gotta keep these two separated because I don't want to have to make their punishment's any more serious than it already is."

Jim forcefully agreed and told the team to continue practice. He turned to AD and told him, "11-5. 11-5 and we're acting like this!?! You know what?" Just then, Jim turned to his team and blew his whistle gathering everyone's attention. "Listen up! We're an 11-5 team after we proved doubter's wrong. You guy's want to act like this? Our motto is ONE BALL, ONE TEAM, when one person f---s up, everybody f---s up! Everyone will be running suicides till you actually feel like committing suicides. RIGHT NOW!" After hearing a cry of moan's, the team ran the suicides while AD looked on at Jim noticing how in charge he was of this team.

AD yelled, "Alright Jim, it looks like you got everything in control. I'm going to head out, I got some stuff to tend to." Jim blew his whistle and yelled to his team, "4!" He then turned to AD and responded, "Alright man. Let me know when you know what to do with Sam and Roy.... 5!" He yelled to his team.

[A FEW HOURS LATER]

With Roy and Sam in his office, Jim O' Brien began trying to fix the problem between the two. "Listen guy's you both play crucial roles on this team and I can't have my two center's going at it. Roy, you're suppose to act like the future center of this team-" Roy interrupted, "Then start me coach! Ever since you got him I've been getting no play! How you think I'm suppose to react to that?" Sam intervened, "Cuss I got experience son." "Shut up!" Roy exclaimed.
Jim heard enough, "Quiet! I've had it up to here with the two of you. Hibbert, I put you on the bench so you could get a better understand of the game but you know what? We got the Sun's as our first game of the month and if you wan't to prove something to me then you can do it then against Shaq."

Roy smiled and thanked Jim. Just then, Jim's phone rang. It was AD.

"Yo Jim, what's up man?" AD asked. "Nothing much, I got Sam and Roy in my office right now trying to make amends." AD responded, "Oh great, put me on speaker." Jim did as AD asked. "What's up guys?" Roy and Sam answered, "Nothing." Taking a minute to gather himself, AD continued, "Alright well after thinking about the situation you both got yourselves into- there is no doubt in my mind that you both deserve to get suspended." Jim began trembling after thinking about losing both of his start center's. Roy and Sam began nodding there heads as if they knew what was about to come.

"However, I also took into account that this was the first time that it happened and knowing your guys' track record, I have a feeling this won't happen again. So as far as the both of you are concerned, I'm letting you guy's go on a warning- BUT, if anything like this happen's again whether it be you two or some other two, best believe suspensions will be given. Coach, let the other guys know." Jim respnded, "Yes sir, and thank you so much." Making them sound like little boys, Jim asked, "Guys, what do you have to say to AD?" Roy and Sam looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders.

"Thanks? It won't happen again sir." Laughing, AD responded, "No problem guys. Just remember, next time I won't be so easy on the both of you. Be lucky because I was close to suspending both of you for 2 games at most. But alright, hopefully you guy's learn from this. Jim, I'll talk to you later." Jim responded, "Alright, AD, see ya. Bye."

Just before letting them go, Jim assured Roy that he will start against Phoenix and that if he can have a decent game and show that's he ready to start, then the starting spot is his. As the two center's left the office, they gave each other a handshake which was a form of truce between the two. This left Jim with even greater hope's for this season and most improtantly, against Phoenix, when they look to face both Amare Stoudemire and Shaquille O' Neal on the 2nd.

After 34 Long Days, Ford Looks to Return in 8 Days
December 1, 2009

Image
Ford will be looking to return to the line-up after 38 days on the IR.

Indianapolis, Indiana- After what was first dubbed as a season ending injury, T.J. Ford and his broken wrist will look to return to the line-up after Ford tried preventing an easy lay-up against Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks. Now with the team performing very well with an 11-5 record, many are speculating just how much better the Pacer's will be with Ford back in the line-up. He did lead the team in assist's with 7.4 per game before his injury.

With Jack playing a great role on the team, it has been stated that Jim O' Brien will not look to immediately start Ford but will work Ford into back into the starting point guard they dubbed him to be at the start of the preseason. Of course, this move will bring Travis Diener's minute's way down as he averaged 1.7 points and 3.8 assist's per game.

After speaking with Ford after a team practice, he said that coming back to the line-up will be great and that he can't wait to play again. When asked about his thought's on coming off the bench, he said that he understood the process and that he know's the Coach didn't want to risk anything that could lead to a season ending injury so he's ready to make a comeback into the line-up.

Updates on the Ford injury will arise as soon as more information has been given.

Good to see Ford back. The Pacers are really overachieving even without him. Seems like LA is a good play to live right now with both teams being at 1 and 2 respectively.
I guess Hibbert will have a tough task to have a game against Shaq to prove himself. I would start Sam all day long. Hes just better ... Hibbert is bigger maybe but he still has to learn the game.

Yeah it's going to be great getting him back. I can't even believe how good the Clipper's got after one full simmed season lol.

And yeah Sam is very much better than Hibbert right now, but I had to stir somethign up in the locker room. It seems in most association's everybody has a little locker room drama.

"PACERS RIDE GRANGER'S 33 AS INDIANA TOPS PHOENIX"
_______________________________________
RECAP | SUMMARY | GAME STATS | INJURIES

1st Quarter: The Pacer's started where they left off last month, with a high powered offense and a defense that can put any offense on hold. Which is what they did here against the Phoenix Suns. The Indiana Pacer's held Phoenix to 6 of 17 shooting from the field after a back n forth start saw both team's looking to get an edge on the other. Well- once Indiana's defense began locking everybody down, they quickly got that edge as they were led by Danny Granger who appeared to hit everything as he scored 10 points in the 1st quarter shooting 5 of 7 from the field.

For Phoenix, Leandro Barbosa was the primary offense as he went 3 for 5 scoring 6 point's to lead Phoenix in points. Nash and Shaq was right behind Barbosa with 4 point's with Shaq grabbing 3 rebounds. Steve Nash needed to get this offense going but failed to get a response against the Pacer's young and fast defense as they already had 6 steal's in the first quarter. [28-15: Pacer's Lead]

2nd Quarter: The second quarter saw the complete opposite of the first. Phoenix had a much better shooting percentage at 40% as they battled there way back to a reasonable and to a single digit lead. Being led by Matt Barnes who made 6 point's, the Sun's gave us a little show of their high powered offense that's was a threat to the league not that long ago. Jason Richardson threw in 5 point's to bring Indiana's lead to only 8.

For Indiana, shooting at 33% wasn't exactly in their arsenal but it got the job done to keep the lead at half time. The Pacer's were led by both Moe Peterson and Danny Granger who had 5 point's apiece to keep the lead in favor of Indiana. Roy Hibbert is looking to get a double-double as he already had 9 rebounds and 6 point's and the way he was playing, he was almost guaranteed a double double night. Indiana's defense didn't provide much help as Phoenix cut away at there once 12 point lead. [44-36: Pacer's Lead]

3rd Quarter: This was a pretty even quarter to say the lease. Both teams' offense were both on full throttle doing anything they can to either take the lead or keep the lead. This quarter did however, prove to be a bit more in favor of Phoenix as they were able to take the red hot Granger out with 5 fouls. However, that proved to be a bit late as Granger had already scored 10 point's before sitting on the bench. Channing Frye added to the Suns' lack of defense with 4 point's of his own.

For Phoenix, they shot 50% from the field as they were led by Leandro Barbosa (7 points) and Amare Stoudemire (8 points). Behind those two, the Suns' offensive production in the 3rd quarter didn't get any better as Nash went 0 for 1 and Jason Richardson went 1 for 3. [69-61: Pacer's Lead]

4th Quarter: The Pacer's Head Coach, Jim O' Brien took yet another gamble playing Granger with 5 fouls with 5 minutes to go. And yet again, his decision didn't come and bite him in the ass. Danny Granger capped off what was a great night for him scoring 8 points in the entire quarter. Behind him, Brandon Rush shot 3 of 4 including one three pointer to give him 7 point's on the quarter, and behind those two are Moe Peterson and Channing Frye who scored 4 points apiece.

The Sun's showed signs of their veteran roster as they just couldn't keep up with Indiana. Despite shooting 43% from the field and Leandro Barbosa scoring 12 points in the quarter, the Suns' offense just couldn't get things going. If they had played like this through all 4 quarter's then the result might've been different. Steve Nash added 5 point's but obviuosly needed more in order to pull out a win as Shaq and Stoudemire were held to a combined 2 of 4 shooting from the floor. [100-89: Pacer's Win]

Good win on your home court. Peterson and Frye played great off the bench.
