And I suppose it includes two-man discussions of a almost dead baseball thread?

Anyway, back on topic. Though loss against the Magic. But still 14-3, pretty good.

Finally, some comments! Thanks for the praise... I wish the 2K boards didn't suck so much and Live was playable, then I'd be getting some attention... I hope you keep following, since I have some good stuff planned with the upcoming All-Star weekend. I'm coming up with ways to make up for the lack of effort 2K put into that...

Stojakovic Scores 44 as Warriors Continue to Slide

February 11, 2007 | Warriors (14-3) @ Hornets (11-9)

New Orleans, LA - After bouncing back from 2 surprising losses, the slumping Warriors were expected nothing less than to defeat the New Orleans Hornets. For the first 6 minutes of the games, it seemed like that was going to happen, GS being up 20-6; but then a trio of treys by Peja fired up the rest of his team, and they finished the quarter with a 10-0 run, taking a 5-point first quarter lead. Both teams fought hard in the second, but whenever the Warriors would go on a run, the Hornets would counter it and knock them back 5-7 points. 58-51 Hornets at the half.

In the third, it was a back-and-forth scoring battle between Hornet Peja Stojakovic and Warrior Gilbert Arenas. Unfortunately for Arenas, his supporting cast didn't show up, and his team faced an eleven point deficit going into the fourth. Threes by Chris Paul, Desmond Mason and Peja Stojakovic clinched it for New Orleans, as Golden State let their bench finish the game. Following the 107-90 loss, Warrior coach Don Nelson said that the team's play was "Unacceptable, but understandable" and that he guaranteed a victory against Seattle to end the road trip in the last game before the All-Star break.

Lamrock, go do a Live 2005 dynasty, it's pretty playable as long as you don't get annoyed at guys hitting shots in your face constantly :P

You're slipping a bit...you just need a good win though to maintain your position.

It actually took me like 15 tries to get realistic All-Stars. One time, it had Darius Miles (who had been on the IR all season), Ricky Davis, Rajon Rondo, Mike Dunleavy and Hedo Turkoglu. Anyway, the last game before the All-Star break. Its a poorly done recap, but oh well.

Arenas has huge game as Warriors end losing streak

February 14, 2007 | Warriors (14-4) @ Sonics (8-8)

Image 21 31 22 34 108

Seattle, WA - It was an up-and-down game, but the Warriors finally ended their 3-game skid with a victory in Seattle, giving them momentum going into the All-Star weekend. The game started all Seattle, as Ray Allen caught fire early in the first quarter. 29-21 Seattle, Ray Allen with 17 points, Arenas with 8.

In the second, the tide turned, as Gilbert Arenas led a 20-4 run to help his team take the lead. They led by one point at the half. Arenas had 23 points by then, Allen 29. In the third period, the Sonics regained the lead, but a pair of treys led the Warriors to a 5 point lead. He had 32 points; Allen 40. The final period was a shootout between the dueling guards. There was a period where Arenas could not miss. With 2 minutes left, Allen has 48 points, to Arenas 44, but his team trailed 98-90. Gilbert scored a 4-point play on the next possession, but the Sonics responded with an 8-0 run. Arenas dunked it on the next possession, finally taking the lead in the two-man battle, but Ray Allen hit a quick 3 to bring his team within 5 and reach 51 points. On the last possession, Samuel Dalembert dished it to Arenas, and he nailed the game-clincher, and also won the scoring battle 52-51.

Arenas didn't just score though, he also dished 12 Assists, grabbed 6 boards and got 6 steals. The Warriors completed a trade in the off season, sending Jamison, Jasikevicus and Biedrins to Seattle for Rashard Lewis, Chris Wilcox and Saer Sene. While the players Seattle received outplayed those they sent to the Warriors, they lost the game. After this game, Arenas' averages improved to 30.9 PPG, 10.1 APG and 2.1 SPG. The Warriors (15-4) have regained the league's best record from the Lakers (15-5).

Okay, its been a couple months since I've updated this. Is it over?

Well, considering that it really doesn't have many followers, and 2K8 is out, there is a good chance i won't. However, with 2K8 looking rather mediocre, and the fact I can't afford it, I don't know if I will make one for that game. When basketball season ignites again, don't be surprised if I finish this though. ;)

Yes, I'm retiring this. I intend to finish it someday however, but for now, I'm focused on my NBA Live 08 Dynasty. Link.

This was a good read. Will follow your current Live dynasty, and hopefully a 2k8 association when you get around to it

I will be doing a 2k8 association when I get the game (after exams, so about 2 weeks), so hopefully with a few different stories on the go we will get some more publicity down here. I'll see what we can do about it at least.

Okay, after failing with my first Live dynasty and getting bored with my second (might restart when playoff season begins and rosters are final), I have again had an itch for some Dynasty action, so I have decided to come back to NBA 2K7. Now, I burned out on this last year, so I made some roster changes that may not make sense, but are keeping my interest with the game. I might not fully resume this, but it is nice to return. NBA 2K7 is good.

And I know the article below sucks.

Ellis Reportedly Suffers Broken Ankle in Practice, Lewis Disgruntled

Oakland, CA; February 16, 2007 - Everything was falling right into place for the 15-4 Golden State Warriors. After new GM Liam Washburn threw out a baffling series of Blockbuster trades, everything was somehow working perfectly. The sheer star power and miraculous chemistry pushed them to the top of the pack. Yesterday, the team's #3 scorer, and top Most Improved Player candidate Monta Ellis suffered a broken ankle. He is projected to be out for anywhere between 6-10 weeks.

Image
Monta Ellis

Ellis, a second year player, has been putting up career highs in every statistic, including scoring (16.4 PPG), Rebounding (4.5 RPG), and Assists (3.5 APG). He has been selected to play in this year's rookie challenge, but will be unable to participate. No replacement has been named at this time, and there may not be one under such short notice.

With the trade deadline a week away, will GM Washburn pull out trade #5? With a lack of intriguing guard prospects in free agency, that is a very likely possibility, especially with all-star forward Rashard Lewis being an unhappy camper.

Image
Rashard Lewis

He has lately spoken out against the management of the franchise, going so far as to taunt GM Washburn. "You know, I just find [the trades] unprofessional. This isn't a video game. Hey, why don't you trade me? Maybe you can get Kobe now." Rashard Lewis will be representing the Warriors at this year's NBA All-Star game as a reserve, along with starter Gilbert Arenas.

Washburn has yet to comment on the matter.

Don't trade Lewis- he's one of your best players. Plus why do you need guards?? you already have Ellis and Arenas.. Anyways nice to see it back, and nice article (Y)

Meh, in the interest of keeping this dynasty interesting to me, I'm mixing up the roster again. As for the guard situation, Ellis is out for a couple months.

Brief all-star weekend up next!

All-Star Friday: Rookie/Sophomore Game

February 17, 2007 | Rookies (2-5) Vs. Sophomores (5-2)

Rookies: 50 70 120
Sophomores: 69 76 145

Las Vegas, NV - Even without sophomore stud Monta Ellis (out due to injury, replaced by Indiana's Danny Granger), the Sophomores still managed to blow out the Rookies yet again. The 2005 draft class got off to a quick lead in the first half led by #4 pick Chris Paul and #1 pick Andrew Bogut, who both had 17 points apiece. Despite Brandon Roy having 20 points at the half, the Rookies trailed by 19.

The beginning of the second half saw the Rookies go on a minor run, but could never bring the game within closer to eight points. A pair of three pointers by Deron Williams and Raymond Felton helped their draft class retain their lead, and after that, the Rookies never came within 15 points. Hawks forward Marvin Williams could not be stopped, as his 18 second half points helped his team hold off the Rookies, to win 145-120. Earning MVP of the game was Hornets point guard Chris Paul, who had 24 points, 17 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 steals in 32 minutes of play.
