ROOKIES 96 - SOPHOMORES 149
This Rookie vs Sophomores was not a game to remember, at least not for the rookies of this season. The rookies struggled to keep pace from the start, as hot-hand Andres Nocioni fired up early scoring a staggering 15 of the Sophomore's first 21 points.
Not surprisingly the Rookies were frantically trying to cull this onslaught and got in early foul trouble with Chris Paul having to take a seat not long into the game. This took out their main man and the Rooks continued to struggle to contain the hard hitting likes of Sophomore's number one man Dwight Howard, and bench player Emeka Okafor.

Before long everyone knew the game had turned into a circus and Andrew Iguodala embraced the opportunity to show off some of his more showy skills.
Not all bad news though for the rookies, especially for Seattle rookie Johan Petro who got the surprise start for the game and backed it up with a solid 17 points and 15 rebounds. Number one rookie pick Andrew Bogut also impressed with his work on the boards and stiff defence, coming up with 6 blocks by the end of the game.

An honourable mention goes to Chris Paul who finished with 25 points and 8 assists...
..but it was Dwight Howard who won the 2005-2006 NBA Rookie Challenge MVP, tallying a massive 35 points and 14 rebounds.
We all look forward to next season's Rookie game when this year's rookies become sophomores and have hopefully gained some more experience.
