SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 19 (Ticker) -- Mike Miller and the Memphis Grizzlies would not let Carlos Boozer stop their hot start. Miller scored 20 points as the Grizzlies continued the best start in franchise history with an 110-102 triumph over the Utah Jazz, who got 21 points and 12 rebounds from Boozer. Pau Gasol contributed 23 points for Memphis (9-1), which has won four straight games, including three on the road. "I don't want to pat ourselves on the back because it's too early," said Damon Stoudamire, who signed a four-year deal with the Grizzlies in the offseason. "But I think all of our new guys are really blending in here. ... Everybody's pulling for one another and that's the biggest thing in the NBA. We have been able to play well over the course of the first 10 games."
Andrei Kirilenko and Boozer kept Utah within striking distance until the final minute until Dahntay Jones, who hasn‘t been receiving a lot of playing time until tonight, drained a clutch 3-pointer with the shot clock winding down and 46 seconds left to play to give Memphis a 106-100 lead. "I just wanted to come in and contribute in the time coach gave me," Dahntay said. "I waited patiently for my time to come and it happened tonight and I was able to hit some key shots for the team." Miller made all four of his shots in the third quarter including both of his 3-pointers to keep the Jazz from closing the gap to five points.
"Mike Miller was huge once he got going," Memphis coach Mike Fratello said. Kirilenko who was a perfect 7-7 from the field didn’t get as much playing time as expected because he got into foul trouble along with Pau Gasol. Keith McLeod added 17 points for the Jazz, who shot 42 percent (40-of-96) from the field. "We didn‘t handle the ball well at all," Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said about his team who committed a season-high 31 turnovers. "We came down and I thought we just got a little anxious to shoot the ball. (But) we can't win with three or four guys playing hard. We have to have everybody playing hard."

BOSTON, Nov. 19 (Ticker) -- A late foul call and a pair of free throws by Washington's Antawn Jamison sank the Boston Celtics. Jamison scored the last of his 125 points on two free throws with a few ticks remaining as the Wizards edged the Celtics, 110-108. "It's deja vu," Jamison said. "I didn't try to settle for the jump shots. I wanted to get free throws out of it and I succeeded. I didn't think he was going to reach for the ball but he pulled my arm and bailed me out." Pierce, who had 25 points, answered early in the 3rd quarter by scoring 16 of his 45 points to bring Boston back into the game.
"I had a rough first half," said Jamison, who combined with Arenas to account for 21 of the team's 29 points in the final period. "I pretty much played the way coach and everybody on this team expects me to play. I didn't rush it. I just went with the flow of the offense. I had the shots, I had the opportunities and I just made the best of them." Arenas tried to match Pierce performance by putting up 41 points on 16-29 shooting. Mark Blount was whistled for reaching in at the end of the game which gave Jamison the opportunity for the two free throws.
The Celtics committed 21 turnovers compared to the Wizards 14 despite shooting entirely better than the Wizards throughout the game. Boston shot 49 percent from the field, while the Wizards shot just 41%. Antonio Daniels played a big role in the Wizards win by scoring 10 points off the bench in 24 minutes of play.
