Me, you and X have a rapport about spamming in our dynasty threads... let traditions continue,hehehe...

Thu Dec 01, 2005 8:57 am

Congrats on the kids :)

I'll be watching the dynasty (Y)

Wow you're on your third page of your Dynasty thread and haven't even started the regular season! That's what creating a buzz is like!

I know you had one of the most respected and committed dynasty threads last year so I'm looking forward to your write-ups! Keep us posted...

Okay, it has started. Have to get my webhosts up and running gain, and go back into writing shape, but this dynasty has now officially began.

Now , to all of you my unpaid but all too willing Assistant GMs out there. I have two trades in mind involving Pierce, and I would like to hear your thoughts about which one is more realistic and/or beneficial to the Celts:

-Pierce, Orien Greene and J. Reed head to DENVER for Nene, Andre Miller and Eduardo Najera.Nene ,Miller will cover the gaps at C and PG, while Eduardo will bang from the bench. That leaved a certain hole in our 2 or 3 spot, depending where Ricky Davis will play. If he starts at the 3, Tony Allen and Delonte West will share time at the 2. If Ricky starts at the 2, then it's time for Gerald Green to step up big time, fast. DENVER will have acquired a star-shooter to start at the 2 and will be rid of Nene's requests for more playing time. They will be considerably weaker in the bench, however.

- Pierce, Mark Blount and Orien Greene get shipped to DALLAS for Josh Howard, Keith Van Horn and DJ Mbenga/Pavel Podkolzin. Josh Howard will cover the SG spot, Keith Van Horn will be the 6th man. The important thing with this trade is that KVH's 15.5M contract ends this season, so with noone other than Dan Dickau worth considering a resigning in the summer, we'll be about 15-18 million below cap limit and we'd be able to make a splash in the FA market. DALLAS get a superstar scorer who will start at SG, leaving Stack and Marquis Daniels to rotate at the 3, or will start at the 3 himself and let the other guys rotate at SG.

Let me hear your thoughts on the above.

Clippers GM IJBL says:

"I like the second one. Given the quality of the Free Agents who could be available in the summer, the cap room is very valuable."

However, it should be noted that Clippers GM IJBL has upset Corey Maggette, and is 8-6 in his franchise, so his opinions shouldn't be taken too seriously

I like the 2nd one because Josh Howard is my favourite Mav (i hate the mavs) and Podkolzin is my 2nd favourite Mav :?

Trade for Podkolzin and see if there is a way you can import him into WWE Smackdown.

Sat Dec 03, 2005 1:25 am

i don't know which trade i like more :?

but good to hear that your dynasty finally starts =D

Sat Dec 03, 2005 3:25 am

I would keep Pierce. Hes the Celtics best player for sure. Unless u dont like playing with him or whatever. If not, then go with #2. But I really dont think its realistic, ur (more than less) getting some scrubs for a Superstar. I would try to get McGrady for him, or even Bryant. Maybe Maggette. Good luck though

I like this one better. Always a fan of the youngsters from Dallas. Miller's contract also is a pretty hefty one, and I think it would be better to get some free agents during the off-season.

Sat Dec 03, 2005 7:03 am

hm. i would go with the first one to make it harder on yourself.

besides boston needs a change of stars

Sat Dec 03, 2005 7:08 am

Go with the first one.

Sat Dec 03, 2005 7:50 am

Both good trades, but i like the Dallas trade, plus its the type of trade that Cuban would be interested in IMO.

Good to see you back DWeaver :D

Having fun with the twins??

Sat Dec 03, 2005 10:00 am

I like the first one if EBoy gets to start in Denver... Denver will fill up its SG needs with PDub and Nene will get to change teams cause hes not doing much in Denver.

C: Camby PF: Martin SF: Melo SG: PDub PG: EBoy looks pretty sexy!

I like your second one thanks to the CAP Space! Oh man, it looks good but I'm, a bit unsure who is available for next season... good luck nonetheless!

Overall, I like the first trade most! Go for it. Nene can start at C... depending on if Al Jefferson will start. Andre better start at PG but ur rotation still pretty stocked with PG's... however, I think i'm not sure if its more realistic that the Nuggs would rather move Boykins instead of Dre. And trust me, I wanna see Boykins start for you!

Sat Dec 03, 2005 10:59 am

good to see you again.. coolmac is wondering where have you been... :)

anyway, i like you 2nd option. marquis is playing good and kieth can shoot and go get pavel, big guy and good to develop. and after van horns contract expires you can get a guy from fa... (Y)

it's the year, when the outstanding draft class will be available, isn't it ? (with Bron, Melo, Wade, Bosh, etc.)
I don't know, but i think so... ;)

Sun Dec 04, 2005 8:37 am

nah.. they still got 2 years left... i believe!

Sun Dec 04, 2005 5:05 pm

good to see this one's about to start..... about the trade, i like the first one.......

by the way..... congrats on the twins......

Sun Dec 04, 2005 6:18 pm

I don't really like the trade. I feel that you should've gotten someone who could lead the team in exchange for Pdub. But it's your team  Still realistic though (Y)

And good to see you back (Y)

Mon Dec 05, 2005 5:03 am

i agree with null, if ur trading Pierce who is basically the heart of the Celts u should get someone back who can lead the team while Green develops into the T-Mac type, unless ur willing/wanting to start him already and force him into the leadership role like T-Mac did in Orlando w/o Hill, but IMO you should go after a veteran point guard, and a center, i just think u should get something worthwhile in return for Pierce

Now about the two trades, i dont really like either of them but the simple fact that u would clear that much cap space in the future by getting KVH id say go with that one, and marquis or howard dependin on what u want more, daniels' offense or josh's defense, but they are both pretty good all-around players

havent written this much in a post in awhile, this dynasty is gonna be another great one so i had to give my 2 cents, good luck weaver

Mon Dec 05, 2005 5:21 am

So far the Dallas trade leads with 6 votes to 4...

I'd like to thank everyone for their input, both in this thread and in my PM box...

I'll go with the second trade, then, unless something changes in your votes within the day or someone comes up with another, feasible and MORE REALISTIC trade scenario involving Pierce... (Y)

Mon Dec 05, 2005 10:14 am

Hmmmm. What about moving him to LA or Sacramento. I mean "Realisically" Pierce said, he wants to be a Celtic for his whole career. But he said if he was going to be traded, then he wants to be moved to Los Angeles. So if you wanted to go really realistic, you should trade him to the Clippers for Maggette or Brand and Livingston OR to the Lakers for Odom, or maybe Kobe, but you would need to throw in Ricky and someone else with a good rating. Maybe even Sacramento for Peja Stojakovic. Hope that helps. Good luck man.

Mon Dec 05, 2005 12:23 pm

I hear you, but you have to view realism from the other team's perspective... From the ones you proposed, only the LA one makes sense as the Lakers would be willing to give Lamar up... Hmmm... maybe then I can get my token guy Luke Walton somehow... I'll check it out, and it's a good idea, thanks...

If you have a specific trade in mind, please allow yourself to post it here... (Y)

Mon Dec 05, 2005 12:31 pm

My only wish for the Dallas trade, is that I hope you somehow include Rawle Marshall. A Josh Howard clone in the making. (Y)
