nice job making the game harder+
Thu Feb 24, 2005 11:37 pm
The walls are defininitely caving in for the Miami Heat as they lost again, this time to the Timberwolves, and if that is not enough, Shaq come in 100% for the game and then got injured again and this time he will definitely be out for 2 weeks with a torn achilles tendon, ouch! Garnett was also injured in the game but only suffered a sore toe. Sam Cassel burned the Heat with his outside shooting and the Heat didn't have an answer for him. Shaq still was able to score 30pts in the game but got limited support from the others.
I don't know what will happen to the Heat now that the starting post players are out. As all of you may know, i'm an inside player and not so much an outside shooting team. I wanted to sign a free agent but I only have $7,000 left and there's no player availble for the minimum. Grant Hill has definitely lost most of his skill and has been a no show since the season started, Penny though is playing a little better. Wade will be 100% in the next game so maybe he can do something to pick up the Heat. Wolf has been inconsistent and should play better in the absence of Shaq. Bashini Long however is playing steadily off the bench, but he should be able to do more now that Shaq is out.
I did win my game against the Hawks but that wasn't easy either. We entered the last 2 minutes tied at 72 and i just pulled away with free throws. Josh Childress has become a great scorer for the Hawks. =)

Is this the end of the Miami Heat?
The Heat lost 2 more games as they played against the Wizards and the Bulls. The players that are killing me are the other teams guard, Arenas and Wesley for the Wizards and Hinrich and Gordon for the Bulls, they are making contested jumpers again and again and the game has become unrealistic already, I may have to adjust the sliders again (until i start winning again

). But the Heat is not at full strenght and it's early in the season so hopefully they can get back to their winning ways. The Heat is now 4-5 and has gone below the .500 for the first time in 5 years. Nobody is playing consistently for the team and the injuries have truly affected their standing.
Wolf was the latest casualty of war as he was injured in the 3rd quarter and wasn't able to get back to the game. Fortunately, he is still 100% for the next game so it was a minor leg injury. Bashini Long also suffered an injury but he was able to play again. What is happening!??? The injury bug has definitely catch on to the Heat. The only good thing that is happening to the team is the re-emergence of Haslem as he starts in place of the injured Parker. He is averaging 4.1OR per game and that is 5th in the league. His hustle is definitely a welcome sight to a team that is struggling.
I can't wait for November to end, it has been the worst month ever for the Heat. What else could go wrong......

Finally! After 3 straight loses the Heat finally won a game. The Heat ended their 3 game skid against the Suns, winning 89-82. This wasn't an easy game at all, i had a 5 point lead going to the last 4 minutes of the 4th when Nash scored 5 straight points in 30 seconds. Good thing Wade finally came out to play, scoring the next 5 points including his second 3 pointer of the night. Wade is not a good 3point shooter so that was a big surprise for me. His stats, 29pts, 7asts, 5stls, and 1reb. The bench also contributed on this win, lead by Grant Hill he seems to be coming out of his slump too.
It's fun having to fight for a win, unlike before where i'm winning by 20 points every game. I adjusted the sliders a little so the game is more reaslistic now, it's still difficult but the CPU misses some contested shots this time. I just lowered the CPU's offense stats to 65 when it was 70 before. i think I've finally figured out how to win without Shaq and Parker, Wade has to be more offensive minded this time rather than go for the assits. Wolf is also driving to the basket more and getting fouled, the problem is he is only a 50% free throw shooter.

This is the weird part in my 4th season. I can't sign anybody for the minimum coz all the minimum players are taken. I want to sign free agents to compensate for the loss of Shaq and Parker but nobody is available. This has never happened before. I know i can only sign minimum players if i'm over the cap but none is available. =(

The Heat suffered another loss in the hands of the Bucks last night. The game was tied going into the last 2 minutes when Wade got injured and the Bucks scored 8 straight points. Wade is now going to be playing limited minutes because of the injury, He scored 20pts for the game. So that's another bad news for the Heat and we are now 2 games below .500.
Parker will be available in a day or 2 so that is something to watch out for. Shaq is going to be out for at least another week as he recovers from the leg injury he suffered. I've never suffered more injuries to my players than this year and i'm only 12 games into this season. I thought all those conditioning training i gave my players during the start of the season would make them stronger but i t didn't help at all. I hope my players will stay healthy once they come back from their injuries.

The Heat battled against Boston last night in Miami for the second time this season. Boston gave Miami it's first loss of the season and first loss after winning 114 straight regular season games. It was a close game throughout as Pierce was leading Boston in scoring and Wade coming off the bench because of the injury he has to spark Miami into a 89-83 win. Wade scored 21pts and dished out 4 asts as he got a lot of support from the bench. The bench scored 30pts for Miami, lead by seldom used center Curt Dixon's 13pts and 10rebs. Dixon got a lot more playing time because Haslem went down with an injury in the second quarter but was able to come back. Penny scored 10pts along with 2 3-pointers, the second one was a killer shot to battle off Boston's rally in the last 2 minutes. Still, Boston was able to get within 1 of the Heat's lead when Haslem got an offensive rebound off Wade's jumpshot and was able to make both free throws to seal the game.
It seems like the Heat made a pact with the devil to win 3 championships, and now it's pay back time. Haslem is going to be out for 2 weeks with a sprained foot. So now, the Heat is playing the Clippers without Haslem, Shaq, Parker, as well as an injured Wade. Shaq and Parker should be back before the week ends and Wade would also be fully recovered from his injury by then. it seems like i'm suffering an injury every game. My original starting 5 only has Wolf still left in it. I put in Constantine on PF eventhough he's a SF because i have nobody else left to play PF. I'm happy to win this one against Boston but i don't know what's going to happen against the Clippers on my next game.
Thu Mar 03, 2005 11:57 pm
Well, the Heat did lose against by the Clippers by 13 but the lead went up to 33 points during the second quarter when the Heat missed 10 straight field goal attempts. Tyler Constantine made the most of his playing time, playing PF in the absence of Haslem, he had 15pts, 7rebs, and 3asts. Wade had 15pts too but nobody else did a significant role. Long has been averaging 3.8blks in the absence of Shaq. Brand had 9blks for the game and Kaman had 5.
The Heat also lost against the Hornets by 2 points. Wade scored 16pts in the 4th quarter but that wasn't enough to give them a W. He finished the game with 32pts and 9stls. Parker played his first game after being out for 3 weeks; he is still not 100% but he had 11pts, 6rebs, and 3blks. Baron Davis was smokin Penny all throughout the game and finished as the player of the game. It's nice to see Mashburn still playing for the Hornets =).
Wolf is in a funk right now, averaging just 6pts for the last 3 games and has not been a factor at all. Freije meanwhile has shown what he can do as he scored 13pts against the Hornet, mostly on short range jumpshot, he was 5 of 5 from the field. Shaq is now ready to play against the Wolves but he is not 100%. Shaq, parker and Wade will still be coming off the bench for the next game.

nice job man, i usually only play the 4th quarter on 12 minutes. and sometimes when i go in, the score is something like 93 - 54, and i have to fight my way back up, i usually get back up and it always goes down to the wire
Tue Mar 08, 2005 7:23 am
I've always played the whole game except for the playoffs. I enjoy playing the game better, now that it's more challenging. I really have to fight for every win. I once had a lead of 20pts against the Wolves when they suddenly went on fire and i ended up losing the game. I've never won consecutive games until this weekend. I'm now at 9-11, and i'm number 20 on the power rankings. Lot's of work to do but i'm hanging in there. Matt Frieje has been the surprise of the season for my team; he is scoring more than Grant Hill.
I scouted some players and i think i found one that i woul definitely pick. He's a 6'7 SG that is supposed to go undrafted at 18yrs old. He has excellent potential and has better ratings than a first round projected player. I also scouted a 6'9 SF that could replace Hill at the end of the season. I'm looking for another tall PF and there are some that are available in the first round.

The Heat won for the 3rd straight game against the Knicks and they are now just one game below .500. The game was one for the books as both teams battled each other until the end. The Knicks had a 10pt lead in the 1st quarter then the Heat came storming back to take an 8pt lead to end the second. The Heat controled the 3rd quarter to increase their lead to 16 until the Knicks came back to reduce the lead to 6 going into the 4th. The Knicks came within one with only 4 seconds left but they didn't call a time out when Marbury got the rebound off Hill's desperation shot so the Heat won by one.
All 5 starters scored in double figures, lead by Shaq's 28, Wolf with 22, Parker with 18, Wade with 13, and Penny with 10. Shaq was the player of the game adding, 8rebs, 5blks, and 5asts. Wade had 8 asts and 2stls. Marbury led all scorers with 32, as the guards again gave me a hard time stretching the lead. Chris Bosh is now playing for the Knicks and Allan Houston has already retired.
Thu Mar 10, 2005 12:05 am
The Heat would have gotten more wins if they shot better from the free throw line. Shaq is just shooting 48%, Parker is at 50%, and Wolf is at 46% only. My team free throw percentage is only 64% and that's like close to the last in the league. Haslem is now ready to play but he is till not 100%. He needs 5 more days for a complete recovery.
Fri Mar 11, 2005 11:47 pm
The Heat won their fourth straight game last night against the Knicks despite Shaq fouling out and Wade suffering a leg injury. Nicodemus Abraham stepped in for the injured Wade and had 10pts, 4asts, and 4stls. Wade was able to come back to play and was a big factor in the end with his free throws. Shaq was the player of the game, getting 28pts, 12rebs, 3blks, and 4asts. The Heat got a lot of help from their bench and was abe to ward off the Knick charge headed by Crawford and Marbury.
The Heat was up 2 places in the recent power rankings and is now ranked 18th in the league. They are now 11-11, the first time they have been on .500 in over a month.
Mon Mar 21, 2005 11:52 pm
The Heat are finally getting it together winning against that have beaten them before the Bulls and the Knicks on consecutive nights. Stephon Parker has gotten his rhythm back and was the player of the game against the Knicks, making 28pts, 12rebs, and 4blks, he also made his first career 3 pointer to end the game. Against the Bulls, he had 13pts, 14rebs, and 2blks. Shaq is averaging just 20pts, 8rebs, and 3blks for the season but he is still very valuable to the team.
The two games were not that close anymore, meaning i have maintained a better than 6 point lead going into the last 2 minutes, when before I used to enter the last 2 minutes with a deficit or up by a few points. I think i've finally figured out how to win in this level. I'm attempting more jump shots than ever before, and i'm getting fouled on it a lot. although the Heat is just a 64% free throw shooting team, it has kept me close to my opponent until I get the opportunity to take the lead. Even with Shaq and Parker, I limit the dunks and lay-ups because they usually just do some ballet moves and I seldom make the basket. I have resorted to just making them shoot the short jumper or hook shot unless their open under the basket for the dunk.
Wade is averaging 22pts, 5stls, and 4asts per game. His scoring average is the highest he has ever had but his assists is the lowest for his career too. Wolf is now helping out with the assists as the Heat needs Wade to score more. Grant Hill has had no playing time during the past few games because i'm playing Matt Frieje more. Matt has contributed well off the bench with his good free throw shooting and good mid-range shot.
Wed Mar 23, 2005 12:31 am
The Heat lost to the Mavericks last night after missing 20 free throws for the game. The Mavs only had an 8pt winning margin so the Heat could have won the game. It was close until the end but Wolf missed an open lay up that would have cut the lead down to 2 with 40 seconds left. I can't wait to train my players for shooting but I need 1,000 dynasty points more, and since i've not been winning that many games, i only get about 100 D-points per game. Dampier blocked 9 of my shots and that was extremely frustrating considering that he was in foul trouble since the first quarter. The Mavericks had a balance attack while the Heat only had 2 players scoring in double figures. Shaq had 29 and Wade had 22.
The Heat won against the Bobcats on their next game. They had a 25pt winning margin and this is the highest winning margin they had this season, this used to be the norm last season but things have been difficult this season. Shaq scored a season high 37pts, along with 12rebs, 9blks and 2asts. Constantine also had a season high 20pts. I think i've finally figured out how to play him. He is like Freije with better dribbling ability so i use him to attempt short range jump shots and get fouled a lot, and since he has good free throw shooting he can score a lot of points that way. The Heat also scored a season high 112pts for the game and this is the first time that they have surpassed 100pts this season. That just goes to show how much more difficult the game is for the Heat.

The Heat is Rising!
The Miami Heat is now 4 games above .500 after beating the Orlando Magic last night. This was also the first time that the Heat were able to beat a rated 99 team and they really had to work hard for it. Shaq was in his usual dominant self but still sucked in free throw shooting. The Bench contributed 17 points and that was enough for the Heat to take the win 101 - 91. the game featured large leads by both teams but they were able to come back and make it a close game. The fourth quarter was close until Wolf hit a three to give the Heat a 7 point lead, then made a dunk with a foul to extend the lead to 10. Cato and Howard has become outstanding shot blockers in the game and it was really difficult to score inside. Cato had 8 blks and Howard got 5 I think, but Shaq still had his monster dunks.
The Heat has jumped 4 places in the power rankings, they are now ranked 14th and is 7 games behind the league leader Spurs. I have no players in the MVP race but Shaq is leading the league in blocks at 3.48bpg, and Wade is leading the league in steals at 4.88spg.

The Heat made the biggest come back of the season against the Lakers last night as the won the game 101-96. The Lakers were leading by double figures all through out the game but the Heat managed to come back and win the game and continue their winning streak to 5 games. The game entered the 4th quarter with the Lakers leading by 11 but Wade got hot and single handedly carried the Heat throught the 4th. Wade scored 27 points in the 4th quarter alone and finished the game with 41pts; he made 21 of 22 free throws and 17 of 17 in the 4th quarter. Wade finished with 41pts, 6stls, 4asts, 1reb for the game. Bryant finished the game with 27 points but was held to 4pts in the 4th.
Shaq only had 13pts, 8rebs and 4blks against the Cavs in their previous game. This is Shaq's scond straight sub par game including a 2pts, 9rebs, 3blks, and 3asts performance against the Cavaliers. I did mention in my earlier notes that Shaq always have a hard time playing against Ilgauskas and he's still struggling against him now. I think 2pts is Shaq's career low but they still won that game. Parker carried the load this time scoring 32pts in the first 3 quarters but was held to 0pts in the 4th, but still, the Heat was able to held on to win the game. James and Mcginnis lead the way for the Cavs. The Bench has been contributing significantly in points in the last few games and that has really helped the Heat a lot. Freije is still the biggest surprise of this season, putting Grant Hill out on the bench in the process. Hardaway is the person who replaced Rasul Buler as the 3 point threat of the Team and he has been making his own contribution.
The Heat climbed 2 places in the power rankings, as they are now number 12.
Thu Apr 07, 2005 12:16 am
The Heat have their 6th win in a row and is now 7 games over .500. They beat the Raptors last night with a score of 91-85. Wade was the player of the game, making 19pts, 3rebs, 3asts, and 4stls. Shaq and Haslem were injured during the game but they were able to come back. Bashini Long played a great game in the absence of Shaq by making 15pts, 6rebs, and 4blks. Wolf scored 15pts for the Heat and Parker had 18pts, 7rebs, 3blks, and 4asts. The Raptors was led by Skip to My Lou Alston with 20pts.
The Heat could have won with a bigger margin but they mised a lot of free throws, even Wade missed 3 out of 11 attempts. It's good that i have accumulated 2500 Dynasty points already so i'll be training the whole team for shooting. Hopefully, that will fix my free throw percentage which is currently at 62%.

You still won. And Miami should be bad at free-throw shooting. Shaq..
Sat Apr 09, 2005 12:21 am
It's not only Shaq who is bad at free throw shooting, I have Shaq, Parker, Long and Wolf shooting below 48%. The others are ok, they are mostly above 80%.
Well, I won't be able to post game recaps for a while. My PS2 is busted and i have to get it fixed soon. And before this happened I was playing Need for Speed Underground 2 that's why i wasn't posting as much as i used to.
I was told that changing the PS2 lens would cost about $100. That sucks!!! Might as well buy a new one or an Xbox.
Sat Apr 09, 2005 3:52 am
How the hell did that happen?
Tue Apr 12, 2005 5:05 am
Well, it turns out that my PS2 only needed to be cleaned and that the lens is still ok. I'm so happy to spend $5 instead of the $100 i thought i'd be spending. So let the games begin!!! Well, NFS2 took up most of my time again even if i wanted to play Live so much. Time passes by so fast when you're playing.....
Wed Apr 13, 2005 7:13 am
You probably could have just used a q-tip and cleaned it yourself. That's a common PS 2 problem. Woulda saved you $5.
Sat Apr 16, 2005 6:10 am
I didn't know if the lens was dirty or busted so i thought it was best to have it checked by a technician. He told me though that the lens was mis aligned so cleaning it would not have helped.
Anyway, still no games from me. I'm still on NFS2 chasing the wide body kits. =) Toyota Corolla Rules! I also have the Escalade, Impreza, Evo 8, and Skyline =).
