Re: Philadelphia 76ers • 0-0 | NBA Live 10

Wow. I just played my season opener against the Magic, and the game froze as it was loading to take me back into the Dynasty hub. It was a really good game too; I lost though, 98-97. And before that, I got to halftime trying that same game for the first time, and it froze then too. I had this same problem with NBA Live 09. And along with that, you have to have a Xbox LIVE Gold Membership in order to upload screenshots or replays form the game, which I don't. For 2K10 you don't need Gold to do that. Any idea what the problem with the freezing is though? Anyway, I'll probably revive my Wizards association soon because this went a lot worse than I expected.

Don't know what's going on with the freezing. Do you have autosave on? If you had it on, it would've saved your first game despite freezing before taking you to the dynasty hub.

Take Kapono off the IR list. His three point shot is ridiculous and he can average decent points from off the bench if you use him.

Sorry to hear that, that's another reason I ultimately decided against an NBA Live 10 Dynasty. Perhaps try disconnecting your 360 from the Internet while you play and make sure you disable the Replay Buffer (the option is only accessible from the main menu). Aside from that, about all you can do is cross your fingers.

Aww great :x . Everytime I think of doing a dynasty, someone picks the team I was thinking of before I get it started. Oh well

Wow, good luck. The roster is great.

Interesting starting AI at point. He's a shooting guard.

Axel - I did not have autosave on; thanks for pointing that out. I'll turn it on now incase anymore freezing happens in the future.

z02 - We'll see how the season plays out. If my backups begin to struggle, I'll definitely give him a chance. And in my opinion Iverson's too talented to bring off the bench, and I really don't have a problem with him running the point.

Andrew - I just disconnected my 360 from the Internet; thanks for the advice. Should I restart my Dynasty once I disable the Replay Buffer?

Keef - Sorry dude; I wouldn't mind if you started a Sixers Dynasty too though.

Badger - Thanks man.

Iverson's been playing the point for the last few years and has certainly spent time there at other points in his career, so there's really no issue there. ;)

Hyperize. wrote:Andrew - I just disconnected my 360 from the Internet; thanks for the advice. Should I restart my Dynasty once I disable the Replay Buffer

You shouldn't have to but since you're at the beginning of this one you might as well start again just to be sure. If you want to upload any screenshots and videos then you can obviously always reconnect to upload them and then disconnect before you play your next game.

I just restarted it a few minutes ago; no big deal because all I had to do was edit my Staff in the first post. But what sucks is that I can't even upload media from the game because my Gold expired a few weeks ago, and I have no plans on renewing it. I also would have downloaded a roster update for the upcoming season, but you can't even do that with Silver. I'll be posting screenshots with most recaps though, but they won't be as good of quality since I don't have a capture device. Anyway, I'll be giving the Orlando game one more shot in a few minutes. Wish me luck!

That reminds me, my Gold subscription is coming up for renewal too.

Good luck!

Three All-Stars Isn't Enough In Orlando As Carter Drops 43 On Sixers In Debut
• Wednesday October 28, 2009: Amway Arena - Orlando, FL

Recap

ORLANDO (AP) -- Tonight the Sixers donned their retro jerseys for the first time in many years. They will become their primary jerseys, but tonight they certainly didn't take the team back to the days of Dr. J or the Barkley. Instead, it looks like a "not-so-dominant" era may begin with these throwbacks. In front of their home crowd, the Magic demolished the 76ers on day two of the NBA's regular season tipoff. Although most of Philadelphia's players struggled, Andre Iguodala remained consistent throughout the night. It looks like he can finally take on the role of being the 76ers' superstar, and lead them in a way he never has. This game also marked Allen Iverson's return to the Sixers since he last played with the team in 2006. Even a veteran like him couldn't match up with the likes of four NBA All-Stars though. Vince Carter absolutely exploded in his debut with the Magic, while Dwight Howard and Marcin Gortat dominated on the boards. The starters were solid for both teams, but Orlando was just too much for Philly to handle. The 76ers will play their first home game on Friday night, as they'll host the Milwaukee Bucks who still have yet to hit the court this season.

Box Score

Key Players

Philadelphia 76ers

Andre Iguodala: 30 Points, 7 Rebounds
Elton Brand: 13 Points, 12 Rebounds, 4 Assits
Samuel Dalembert: 12 Points, 12 Rebounds
Thaddeus Young: 11 Points
Allen Iverson: 10 Points, 5 Assists

Orlando Magic

Vince Carter: 43 Points, 5 Rebounds, 5 Assists
Dwight Howard: 36 Points, 20 Rebounds
Rashard Lewis: 15 Points, 4 Rebounds
Jameer Nelson: 12 Points, 14 Assists, 4 Rebounds, 4 Steals
Marcin Gortat: 5 Points, 20 Rebounds, 5 Blocks

Post-Game Notes

• Both teams shot slightly above 40% from the field, with 90+ shot attempts each.
• The 76ers were horrendous from downtown, shooting 1-11 (9.1%); the three-point savvy Magic were just 3-9 (33.3%) from long range.
• Both teams shot great from the charity stripe; Philadelphia was 9-10 (90%), while Orlando went 10-12 (83.3%).
• The Magic won the rebounding battle, 55-40.
• Jameer Nelson alone matched the total amount of assists Philadelphia had as a team, 14. Orlando finished the game with 23 total.
• The 76ers disappointingly had 22 turnovers, as a cause of the Magic's 11 steals.
• Orlando grabbed 14 offensive rebounds leading to 12 second chance points; Philadelphia only had 4 second chance points off of their 3 offensive boards.
• The 76ers' stellar bench play dominated the Magic's, 14 points to 2 respectively (Anthony Johnson was the only Magic reserve to score).

God damn, tough loss. You struggled on a lot of stat categories.

Good recap though, like the layout, and despite not being able to upload screenshots, that picture is very good. (Y) BTW, are you playing on 12-minute quarters?

Re: Philadelphia 76ers • [0-1] | @ Orlando (Played)

Sun Sep 12, 2010 5:26 am

We did struggle in a lot ways, but it was mainly our terrible three-point shooting and the Magic getting to the foul line with ease that killed us. A lot of the threes I shot were wide open, so I guess it's just the game's "dice roll" shooting logic behind it all. Thanks for the compliment and yes, I'm playing on 12 minute quarters.

Basically, I think the CPU gets to the line anytime they want, one frustrating thing that ruins the experience in this game.

Yeah, Elite 11 probably will fix that "dice roll". Have you tried adjusting your sliders to the point where 3pt % is realistic?

If I played 12 minute quarters, both me and the CPU would surpass 150 points.

Tough game to open the season but no shame in losing to the Magic. Best of luck bouncing back in the next game. :)

Like the layout and the recap, as I mentioned before you can always save your screenshots and then upload them later when the game is over, saved, and at no risk of crashing halfway through.

Axel - You're right about the CPU getting free throws anytime they want. It's bearable, but extremely frustrating because you can't draw half the fouls they do. I might fiddle with the sliders if our three-point slump continues, but I'll keep them the same for now. What quarter length do you play on?

Andrew - I'll be simulating the next few, so hopefully the game won't take our first loss into account. The problem with screenshots is that you can't upload them with Silver; it says something about an Xbox LIVE limitation, which is the same message you get when trying to play an online game. I'm fine with taking pictures of the game with my laptop, as it's not much of a hassle. I appreciate the feedback.

I play 9 minute quarters. I basically get realistic results like that, and for some reason it takes me about 50 minutes to an hour to complete a game, but hey, this game is pretty fun, so no worries.

Yep, keep it up man, looks good. (Y) Huge game by Iggy!

Re: Philadelphia 76ers • [0-1] | @ Orlando (Played)

Tue Sep 14, 2010 7:36 am

Andrew - No worries.

Axel - Well it takes me roughly a little bit more than an hour to complete a game, so with a shorter quarter length I'd say the amount of time it takes you is just about right.

Thierry - Thanks man; good to see you here. Iguodala was our only consistent offensive threat all game, so I tried to get him involved on that end of the floor as much as possible.

You definitely have to set aside more than an hour if you're playing twelve minute quarters. With all the stoppages you're always going to exceed the 48 minutes; same reason a real game will run for more than two hours. I'm guessing there aren't too many people who take a long break to simulate halftime when it comes to video games though. ;)

True. It's definitely not as much as two hours for me though. Probably more like an hour and fifteen minutes. I'll have to time my next game and see.
