Minnesota--A SuperStar City

Game: NBA Live 10
System: Xbox 360
Minutes: 8 min.
Level: Superstar
Rosters: my updated rosters that i created. http://eafanhub.tk check them out. im going with my update from july 20th 4:10pm. which includes all new rookies and basically the 2011 season but in 2010.

Minnesota--one of the "twin cities" has always been a superstar town. The Twins have Joe Mauer, the Vikings have Brett Favre, (well maybe). The T-Wolves, HAD Kevin Garnett. Garnett was the highlight of this team. Garnett left and Minnesota has been if so call it, "superstarless". They have been in the lottery picks for years now. They picked Ricky Rubio last year, but he still has not showed up. Will he ever show up? Probably not. Minnesota can't wait for him anymore, they drafted a new franchise player. Wesley Johnson out of Syracuse University, coming off being Big East Player of the Year, there are high hopes for this man. Can he live up to the hype and be the new LeBron of Minnesota..but win a championship and NOT leave. Can he do the Garnett but lead his team to the playoffs? Let's find out, welcome to the show, Wesley Johnson.

Kevin McHale thinks his team is a playoff contender but not a championship squad yet.

Start of the Season:
Steve Nash thinks the suns have what it takes to be world champs.
Pistons believe its a rebuilding year. The Spurs plan on making a statement in their division this year.

Kevin McHale wants to do some roster changing before its finalized.
They send Corey Brewer(75) for to the Magic for sharp shooter J.J. Redick(75)
ImageImage
The deal made perfect sense money wise, both 2 million dollars worth, and Minnesota needed shooting.

With 1 spot on the roster left, and having 16 million dollars left in the cap room. McHale said, lets leave it, save it for next years free agency market. So the roster was finalized.

Preview:
Wes Johnsonlooks to be the star of the team, with a small front court in 6'9 Kevin Love and 6'8 Michael Beasley, there not going to look like they are going to be a good offensive rebounding team. J.J. Redick was a big guy to trade for becasue he can shoot well and he wont miss a lot. Look for Jonny FLynn to dish out many assists throughout the game.

Off the bench McHale expects Martell Webster to contribute throughout the game a lot along. He should be a top scorer on the team too, well for the bench. McHale also says do expect Ellington to be on the IR for a long time the bench is full of PG's and C's and they need shooting.

Beasliy would then get 2 fouls and have to come out. The nets would then go up 20-8, before Minnsota would call a time-out. The rest of the 1st quarter would be horrific for the wolves.

Hopefully the wolves can come back in the second quarter, and make it respectable at half time.
2nd Quarter
Redick started off hot hitting 2 3's to lead a 8-0 run. But nothing could stop Devin Harris shooting 15 free throws making 12 of them. Redick would hit 4 3's in the quarter, Beasly would stay in foul trouble so out of the game for now. Harris would continue to have 26 points in the half.

3rd Quarter
Devin Harris started off just like the last half with 6 quick points, T-Wolves had no answer for him. a T-O was needed. The Nets would go up by 20 at a point but, Redick would keep firing3's and Johnson would keep getting to the rim. Beasly had to come out again becasue of foul trouble, Devin Harris kept taking advantage of free throws. The Nets would end the qarter ip 72-58.

Wolves--Wes Johnson and JJ Redick 21 each
4th quarter
Nets went on another big run to start the quarter up by 22, but the Wolves went on a 9-0 run led by Ridnour and Beasily to end up getting the lead to 10, to lead to a New Jersey T-O with 3:00 left. The Nets kept the lead until the Wolves gave them a run for their money knocking it down to a 7 point lead with 45 seconds left but they would hold on for a 100-89 victory.

Devin Harris went 21-24 from the line..record night almost.

Brook Lopez 16 points, 20 rebounds
Anthony Morrow 15 points

Now for my time, it was our 1st game not a big deal, but Flynn 0 points Ridnour 8? Back-up PG played better, we'll see what comes ahead."

Good to see a different team since a few of us have doubled up with our choices. :) Not the start you were hoping for I'm sure but Harris had a hell of a game for the Nets. Hope you can bounce back against the Cavs!

Nice looking start mate shame about the loss, looks like Johnson lived up to your hyping in his first game :P , really detailed start as well might be tough to keep up! Looking forward to your game vs Cavs minus Lebron, interesting to see what they will be like.

Antonio Anderson signs with Cavs
Udoka signs with Grizzles

Cavs (2-0)[without LeBron]-Wolves. (0-1)

The first quarter was the best quarter of the season so far. With the T-Wolves scoring a season quarter high 35 points. All lead by J.J. Redick who had a career quarter high 16 points including 4 3's. Martell Webster hit 2 3's including a buzzer beater to end the quarter. Antwain Jamison was in double digits for the Cavs.
Stats
Cavs-25 Wolves-35
Wolves top scorer-J.J. Redick-16
Cavs top scorer-Antwain Jamison-12

The 2nd quarter started where the 1st one left off, with the Wolves hot hot shooting. They would go up 44-29 before Cavs would call a T-O. Life without LeBron is not going too well in this game right now for the Cavs, Jamison and Mo cant do it all but they are trying, getting 8 second violations giving up offense rebounds, not looking good at all. 11 points off turnovers in the 2nd quarter.
Stats
Cavs-42 Wolves-66

Antwain Jamison 26 Points 12 Rebounds
Mo Williams 26 Points 6 Assists

McHale's Post Game Reaction:
"In the 1st half I don't think we missed a shot, we were that hot. We ended the game shooting 48.9% that's pretty damn good in my book. Beasley played excellent basketball, Redick and Wes had great back to back games now. Flynn played a lot better tonight than last night, he actually scored tonight. It was a good first home victory, and maybe we should say it was our home opener. I think the retro jersey's helped out a bit too, that's T-Wolves basketball what you saw tonight, be prepared to see more of that."

Day 3

Minnesota Timberwolves 1-1 at Phoenix Suns 2-0

Steve Nash comes into this game averaging 38 points per game and 10.5 assists per game. A team with not just 1 or 2 potential All-Stars this year but 3. In Steve Nash(92), Hedo Turkaglu(83), and Channing Frye(85). Can the T-Wolves beat one of the elite teams in the west? Let's find out.

1st Quarter 25-20 Suns
2nd Quarter 52-40 Suns
In the first half the Timberwolves missed 9 consecutive shots, and went 4 straight minutes without scoring, their best shooter J.J. Redick did not hit 1 three pointer. The Suns were very hot, wonder why, SUNS!
Steve Nash 22 points 5 assists
Channing Frye 10 points 7 rebounds
Hakim Warrick dunking on Michael Beasley--that's what the 1st half looked like.
Image

3rd Quarter-73-65 TIMBERWOLVES
The 3rd quarter that all changed, the Wolves went on a 22-7 run and they would take a 4 point lead before Steve Nash would call a T-O at center court. Redick found his range and hit 4 3's during that run. The Suns were scoreless in the last 3 minutes of the quarter.
4th Quarter
Wolves kept the hot streak going behind J.J. Redick who ended up hitting 7 3's in the second half to lead a huge comeback win over the Suns.
Redicks' 6th 3 pointer. Cash Money.

Timberwolves 100-Suns 90
Game Stats
Redick 25 points--21 in the 2nd half including all 7 three's.

Steve Nash would end up raising his average of 38 ppg because he had 51 points tonight! 51! Also having 8 assists. Good game for Nash.
Image

Channing Frye also had a double double 12 points 12 rebounds.

McHale's Post Game Reacion:
"It was a great 1st road win, after that 1st half I did not know how the rest of the game would play out, but that goes to show you what kind of players we have, and where we can go with this team, I'm very proud of my boys with the way they played tonight. LA is next, the Clippers of course."

Nice games, you just beat Boston then sadly loss to Bucks the next, looks like you partied too much :). JJ Redick is turning into a star, wow, 30 points against the Clips. You are starting good.

I know but it only makes sense with the game because in your 1st season he is a rookie, and you can't make everyone 1 year pro later so it's just easier that way.

Those last three games were a tough stretch for you, but considering some of the numbers your opponents were posting the first two losses weren't that bad. Hope you can bounce back in the next one.
