Seattle, WA

The Seattle Supersonics announced today that Bob Hill has resigned from his duties as head coach of the team, and the new coach's name is Alexander Sotirov. All of NBA's general managers laughed at that, because the new manager of the Sonics is just 16 years old.
His first game will be at home, agianst the Utah Jazz.
The team's biggest stars - Rashard Lewis and Ray Allen declared that they are pleased with Sotirov's work during the Preseason, and look forward to getting their first season win against Utah

Seattle, WA

The Supersonics smacked Utah in their first game

The Seattle Supersonics started the season with a great 109:82 win over Utah Jazz in front of their home crowd. The Jazz tried to difficult the home team, but Rashard Lewis and Ray Allen turned them down.
After the game Alexander Sotirov said that he is very pleased with the team's performance and the atmosphere in the arena, but also has realized that the signing of Derrick Coleman was a big mistake, and that he's probably going to be traded[/b]

It's probably because you've got your Action-CPU substitution slider set to zero. It's no wonder Utah lost, all their players could've died without stopping playing

Well in my last game without pc subs, i smacked the Raptors 106:70.
I'm sorry that there is no boxscore, but i can't open imageshack.
Shard scored 43 and Chris Wilcox had 18 and 11 rebs.
That's for now

Memphis, TN

Seattle lost for the first time this season against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Sonics showed that the team hasn't worked out well enough, and at the end, Memphis showed better teamwork and won it 76:74. Ray Allen had a chance to win the game for teh Supersonics, 1.9 before the end of the fourth, but his 3-pointer wasn't good.

Ray Allen:
I think that we can play much better, but all we need is time. Hopefully we'll try to give our best in the practice sessions till the next game, so we could go over the Wolves, in front of our homecrowd.

I want to thank the entire team. I just had some open shots, that i was able to score. The credit is not for me, it goes to the team and mainly to our coach - Mike Fratello.

Rashard Lewis - Heart of a champion

Image
Shard : It's all about teamwork

What is your opinion on the Sonics' current record? Can Seattle make the playoffs?

Rashard Lewis: That is our main goal, to make the playoffs. We have to put some good games together, not win a game or two and then start losing again. If we just play hard and work together, things will begin to get better for us.

What would be the best way to improve Seattle's performance?

RL: Defense! We are scoring about 100 points a night. Every time we step out on the floor, we score the amount of points that would normally be enough to win games. We have to make some defensive stops and prevent others to score even more points than us. Then, we will be able to win more ball games.

How do you feel of the changes made in the starting lineup since Alexander Sotirov took over the team?

RL: As soon as Alex became the head coach, he made some changes that he thinks are appropriate and better for the team. He thinks that the new lineup fits our style of play better. We just have to go out there and learn what it is that he wants us to do.

Currently, you are averaging 32.0 points per game. However, on some occasions you simply explode. When that happens you are capable of scoring 50+ points with extreme ease. What happens on those nights?

RL: Some nights, man, I’m just feeling it. Sometimes I feel like every shot that I take will be a make, and when I do miss, I feel upset with myself. Some nights when I get myself going, I will probably miss a maximum of three or four shots for the night.

Some rumors were spread that the Sonics could move out of Seattle in few years. What would that mean for the team? How do you like Seattle as the home of the Sonics?

RL: That is something that people have talked about recently. I really don’t have any control over that and it can’t be my main concern. My main focus is, regardless of where the team is at, or where I’m at, to make the team better and play basketball. I don’t know that much of whether the Sonics will move or not. If it does happen, I will still continue to put the ball in the hoop.

Who do you see as the toughest person to play against in the NBA?

RL: I think Peja Stojakovic is the toughest to defend because he shoots the ball so well. He runs off of the screens very well, and if you give him any room, he is going to make you pay for it. It is so hard to guard him and defend him. As for the defense against me, I think I defend myself the best sometimes. I simply take myself out of the game on some nights. But, I give a lot of credit to guys like Ron Artest. He is very focused on the defensive end.

Another new addition to Seattle

Image

The Seattle Supersonics signed with free agent James Lang. Lang is a 6-10 center, who is 22 years old. This signing surely puts some trade hearings about the Sonics.

I remember James Lang when he entered the draft a while back. He had some hype about him, but I think he lost a lot of ground with at the Chicago Predraft workouts. I hope he does big tihings in you dynasty though. Can't wait to see how you develop him.

Second consecutive loss for the Sonics

The Timberwolves striked once again, and beat the Sonics 75:72 in Key Arena. Marcus Banks had an amazing night, finishing 18 points, 9 assists and 3 rebounds. Former Tar Heel Rasahd McCants scored 13. Ricky Davis finished with 20, and The Big Ticket had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebs.
For the host team, Sweet Lew scored 29 and Curry & Wilcox both had 14. Ray Allen spent only 7 minutes on the floor, and was forced to step out, due to and old back injury, but the good news are that he won't miss any games.

We all are very upset of the loss, mainly because it was at home, and because of Ray's injury. I will suggest Mr.Banks to listen more and speak less, because there are many things in the NBA, which he does not wish to know about.

You see, that's our game! We can beat any team, any time with that kind of game.

Auburn Hills, MI

Seattle continues to impress the entire NBA. This time the Sonics crushed one of the best teams in the league - the Detroit Pistons in their own Palace of Auburn Hills. The game was equal all the time, and everything was decided in the closing 12 minutes of play. Seattle showed way better defense than the Pistons, and that was the main reason for their win.

Alexander Sotirov : I'm very pleased with the basketball that we are playing and with the strong team spirit. That game was an example that we shouldn't be underestimated by anyone, no matter if it's the Spurs, the Heat or the Suns. We can beat any team.

Seattle defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 86:78 in their own Arena Of Charlotte. The Sonics all by theirselves made the game difficult, wasting a 15-point lead at the half. Coach Sotirov wasn't happy by his team's performance.

Lewis rolls Sonics past the Wizards

Seattle managed to beat the struggling team of the Washington Wizards with a 10-point difference - 86:76. The 18.000 spectators in Key Arena watched an interesting and high tempo game, in which Rashard Lewis showed up as a real captain and along with Eddy Curry led the Sonics to their third straight win. After the game, the owner declared that he is delighted with Alexander Sotirov's work with the team, and said that he expects the Sonics to play at the Conference Semfinals.

Earl Watson: #25

Sonics guard Earl Watson is wearing #25 in the Green and Gold for the second time.

A member of the Sonics as a rookie in 2001-02, Watson returned to Seattle in a four-team trade last month. Watson has worn the number 25 since long before joining the Sonics, and his preference dates back to a childhood hero.

"I grew up in Kansas, in Kansas City," says Watson. Danny Manning won the tournament his senior year [with Kansas in 1987-88]. I worked at his summer league every summer at the scorer's table, running the shot clock, and he was always really nice to me. I was a big fan anyway, but because of his personality, I became an even bigger fan."

More than a decade later, Watson joined Manning in the NBA and had a chance to meet him again.

"My first year, I think he played in Phoenix," Watson says. "I talked to him then, and he remembered me."

Watson wore 25 after signing with the Memphis Grizzlies, but switched it up to #8 after joining the Denver Nuggets last summer.

"Something different," he explains. "I just wanted to do something different. I think change is always good, but when I came to Seattle, I wanted to go back to 25."
