Live 09/360/Raptors Dynasty

Postby manifesTO on Tue Oct 28, 2008 11:48 am

I recently just came across this forum and I believe this is a great idea, and I have decided to come on here to share my dynasty.
I've noticed that many of you play older versions of Live for PC, which has caused me to think about my decision to display my dynasty in this thread, but I will give it a chance.
Hopefully, you all will bare with me as I adjust to this and I hope I can come away with something useful from this experience.

Live 09 is far from perfect and definitely does not have the best gameplay in the series, but I will do my best to bring you the most realistic stats in my dynasty. I will be using the dynasty I have already started, which I use the Toronto Raptors. I currently boast a 13-2 record, which I find is not realistic enough, but it is what I have been able to do the last 15 games. Now, enough with the intro (which I would like to apologize for), but yeaa..here it goes...

---------------

Team: Toronto Raptors
Schedule: 82 games, 7-7-7-7 Playoff Format
Console: XBOX 360
Game: NBA Live 09
Sim Quarter Length: 12 min.
Play Quarter Length: 9 min.
Sliders: Playmakers XBOX 360 sliders (I think)
Difficulty: Superstar
Rosters: Oct. 21 NBA Live 365 Update

Record: 13-2
Coach: Sam Mitchell

CURRENT ROSTER

7 - Sean Williams
8 - Jason Kapono
9 - Kris Humphries
10 - Cheick Samb

IR - Nathan Jawai
IR - Joey Graham

---------------

Tomorrow: Offseason/Preseason Recap, Regular Season Game Scores, Transactions, League Leaders, Raptors Player Statistics

---------------

I will try to provide screenshots, and Sprite Highlight Reel Replays, but being that I play on 360, and do not own a TV Tuner, I expect the quality to be ridiculously horrible. I shall try my best to keep this updated. I also am handicapped when it comes to graphic design so do not expect any original/surprising concepts, but I'll try to keep interest at a moderate to high level.

Opinions/Comments/Criticisms on my first dynasty?

Good to see a newcomer with proper grammar and respect. (Y) I look forward to your updates and I'll reserve judgment for the first recap.

Welcome to the Forum! Dynasty threads based on the 360 version are certainly welcome so please don't hesitate to take part in the Forum and posts updates about your Dynasty here in this section. :)

I like your roster, I'm guessing that's a fun starting five to play with. Looking forward to seeing your transaction listings and other stats. (Y)

Help on making games more difficult? I'm finding that I'm winning pretty easily, but I don't want to simulate games often because I would rather play the games and enjoy a hardly fought victory, as opposed to a simulated win or loss. I would like to keep my record to something realistic and not something like 34-5, but I'm finding that a challenge.

Turning up the interception and steals sliders really forces you to take care of the ball. Giving the CPU an edge in the field goal sliders (raising theirs, lowering yours) can also make things more challenging. You might also want to try setting the CPU difficulty to All-Star while leaving the user difficulty set to Superstar.

I already have CPU Steals reasonably high, and I don't wanna raise their interceptions because I find it happens way too much as it is.

Random Comment: Damn, you're old, you joined this on my 11th birthday, hahaa..

Not too old, still on the right side of 25. ;)

In that case you might want to stick with giving the CPU an advantage in shooting, perhaps lowering your own defensive sliders a bit.

Real big change as trading Bargnani for Williams. I would say that is good idea as you already have O'Neal and Bosh under there. And yes you should put computer sliders on shooting higher a bit and yours lower then it will be harder.
Good luck, really enjoying this one :)
