Team: Minnesota Timberwolves
Game: NBA Live 08 (PC)
Schedule: NBA
Sim Quarter Length: 12 Minutes (8 if i forgot to change)
Played Quarter Length: 8 Minutes
Difficulty: Superstar
Sliders: Default but will be tweak
Rosters: Albys version 6
Inspiration: lamrock., Chaser7 and Jing

Um, since I have been playing my 08 lately I have decided to create a dynasty just for entertainment purposes. I know some here still remember the other dynasty that I have created which is the Grizzlies back in the 07 version.

Here it is

I will be playing every game or sometimes I might simulate some. I will try to have a Jing style of recapping like what he is doing right now in his 2k8 Association. I know that I am not known to be a good poster by some.

I will try to update this once in a while if I have the time and this might contain a "Behind the Scenes" like story.

So I hope to get some readers

Introduction

Living near Minnesota where basketball is a famous sport because of an NBA team. I have never imagined myself growing up as an NBA fan. Because I am never really that great in basketball and almost never liked the sport because of its somewhat physical approach. But I become a fan of the NBA and the sport.

So I have said that I lived in Minnesota right? So I guess that some of you maybe wandering that my favorite team is the Minnesota Timberwolves? Nah, yes, I watch them play on television but there is only one person that I have liked on that team and that is Kevin Garnett (I know that he has been traded), the team franchise player(before). I have watched him play since his rookie days and I have been fascinated in his plays.

And since I have been hired to be a journalist (but being a columnist in some sort but instead I put my work on a blog.) by the T-wolves organization which means I can see them now live in games and can even be in there press conference. I have decide to create a blog where I will chronicle the Wolves games and updates.

I hope I get a lot of readers and good luck for me being a journalist. I have been told that I have to recap the whole 07-08 season so that will be my first blog update.

_____________________________

So this is my first try. I might change my recapping style if this "blog" style don't work. I dont know when will I start the season but I hope it will be soon.

Draft, Off Season moves and a blockbuster trade.

ImageImage

So I decided to start my recap on the NBA draft. Some experts have high expectations of the draft class because of the majority of big men and a Chinese sensation joining the draft.

With big men Greg Oden from Ohio State being pick first round by the Blazers he will pair up with former rookie of the year Brandon Roy, with Kevin Durant pick second by the Seattle Sonics, and Al Horford the third pick by the Atlanta Hawks. Meanwhile the Wolves get forward Corey Brewer from Florida in 7th pick.

The trades that has happened during the draft has been great as well. With the likes of Ray Allen going to Boston, Zach Randolph going to the Knicks and Jason Richardson going to the Bobcats(lol, the trade is just stupid for the Warriors).
_______________________________________________________________________

I can’t seem to be in a mood to write the off-season moves part. Mainly, because it has my man Kevin Garnett being traded to Boston just after they have just got Ray Allen. In return the Wolves get 7 players, that is Al Jefferson, Sebestian Telfair, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes and some draft picks(which is two). Which means that the Wolves are in rebuilding process because of that and the Celtics being named Championship Contenders because of that. But for me it would still be cool to watch them because any of them can develop because they are still young.

Some of the other big off-season moves that have happen:

Rashard Lewis to the Magic
Derek Fisher back to the Lakers
Penny Hardaway return and sign with the Heat

The Wolves didn’t get that busy after the Garnett trade. But however they managed to put up a move one last time before the season starts. Trading away their other star player Ricky Davis and role player Mark Blount for a bunch of scrappy players: Fatoine Walker, Wayne Simien, Micheal Doleac and a first-round draft pick.

Before the 07-08 season I have high expectation for the Wolves to at least have a 29-win but without a star player in their team they don’t have the chance. I am guessing that they will be last, but let just see on my recaps. So that’s sum up the 1st part of the 07-08 recap. Next will be the 07-08 whole season recap.

07-08 Season Recap and Some T-wolves exhibition games news

Last season has been an exciting one no doubt. With two teams who have a remarkable winning streaks and great All-Star game, to the blockbuster trades/signing that have happen, to the tough Western Conference race and to the great playoffs.

Image

The Portland and Houston both have something in common, they both have winning streaks, they both lose their big men in the season and I don’t know what to add next. The only thing to say about them is that Portland has a 13 straight winning streak in which they managed to do without their first round pick Greg Oden and the Rockets has a 22-winning streak which is the 2nd longest in the history of the NBA and without their former first round pick and all-star Yao Ming.

___________________________________________________________

ImageImageImage

There has been some big names who like Garnett has been traded and some teams and players alike have tried to imitate a blockbuster moves like that one. Big name players like Shaquille O’Neal who has been traded to the Suns in exchange to Marion, Pau Gasol to the Lakers to form a big three with reigning MVPKobe Bryant and Lamar Odom,.Kidd to the Mavericks to form with German forward Dirk Nowitzki. There has been many trades that have happened throughout the 07-08 season but that’s just to name a few.

The playoff is the main goal of some teams in the NBA. They try to improve their team in order to compete in the playoffs and make a run at the championship. The 07-08 season see a tough Western Conference playoff race with 8 teams all having 50+ wins and there win margin is not longer than 5 games. But despite that, it was the East that prevail despite having a weak seed and only having 3 50+ wins team. The Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship in which they managed to keep their championship contender status the whole season.

So that's some up the recap and I have heard from one of my co-workers that the Timberwolves might have an exhibition game against a team that is competing at the 2008 Beijing Olympics games and 2 pre-season games against the Grizzlies and the Clippers. I hope I managed to watch that and give you an update

Great writing, a few typos, but still great. I'll be following this one for sure ;) (Y)

There was really no point in recapping the entire year (with tons of grammar/factual errors), when we all have just witnessed it (since you chose to recap what happened in real life and not by simming a year in Live, and recapping that). Anyways good luck in this dynasty and I'd suggest resizing all your pictures to be the same height, so that it looks nicer.

I was about to post the exact same thing, but with some snarky insults, but you beat me to the punch. My sentiments exactly. This is abysmal.

I know that it make no sense recapping the whole 07-08 season but since I am using the 08-09 rookies, that's my reason on the recap (altough it's still not make sense).

On the grammar errors, I know there are some because I am still trying to improve my English, even though some sucks.

Anyways keep reading, I would try to make this dynasty readable and understandable. I have already in my mind what's next on this. Maybe a exhibition game on one of the teams in Beijing, a behind-the-scene, maybe a roster change?

Use Microsoft Word or something to type up a recap first. That way most of the grammar mistakes and whatnot will be corrected.

Again, you didn't even understand my post correctly. You should have recapped the 2007-2008 season that happened in your Live, no what had actually had happened in real life. You could have recapped any trades made during your dynasty, not he ones we already know about... did the celtics actually win in your dynasty?

Actually, I haven't started the dynasty yet. I did but I still not played any game. I just kinda need to recap the real 07-08 season for no reason. Maybe because of the updated roster that I have that have the 08-09 rookies.

US embarrased the Wolves on their tune-up game

Starting Lineups

Image

The Wolves has been scheduled to have a exhibition game yesterday against one of the teams that will go to the Beijing Olympics this coming August and the team they have played against? The Team USA Squad.

Image

MINNEAPOLIS (AP)- -
The USA are preparing for the Olympics as they try to embarrassed the hometown Wolves on the half filled Target Center. I am glad that I managed to watch this game even if this is just a pre-season game for the Wolves. This is also a warm-up to try the new lineup that they have.

To start the game the Wolves have a great start while Team USA started slowly but the US defense has been active and the Wolves are down by just 11 at end the first half. With 6:34 at the 3rd quarter USA’s veteran Jason Kidd has injured his leg but comeback to finish the game.

On the 2nd Half the Wolves are trying to comeback on the game and trying to avoid a blowout loss to the Americans but things have changed for the Wolves as the US’s balance defense and half-court style of play have starting to click as they have a 12-0 nothing run and with the return of Jason Kidd at the fourth quarter the US make sure that they are truly prepared for the Olympics as they embarrass the young Wolves team at their home crowd by twenty-seven 83-67.

Kobe lead the way with 20 points, Anthony has 11 and James has 12.
For the Wolves Al Jeffeson has 18, Foye with 11 points and Mike Miller has 9 points.

BOXSCORES

Jordan Player of the Game: Kobe Bryant 20 points in 10/19 shooting and has 9 assist

Shitass of the Game: Mike Miller 9 points in 3/17 shooting

Notes and Game Notes:

-Damn, USA is damn ready for their road to the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics. The way they played against this young Wolves squad is just a good example.
-Both teams have been dismissal at the 3-point line at that game as they shot only 3/27 with the Wolves shot 2/17 and the US’ 1/11.
-The US’s didn’t get to the free-throw line has they only have one attempt at the line where as the Wolves get to the line sixteen times at the game.
-This is my first time writing a recap so please bear if there are some grammatical errors.

You ripped off my Shit ass idea, and spelled "amateur" wrong, along with "embarrassed".

Lamrock wrote:You ripped off my Shit ass idea, and spelled "amateur" wrong, along with "embarrassed".

Sorry about ripping your idea since you are one of my inspiration on making this dynasty, one of my favorite dynasty authors. I don't know what is that though. I think that was the quote thing right?.

I forgot that I spelled that two words wrong. Stupid MS word for not correcting it.

Tue Aug 26, 2008 11:15 pm

I know that I kinda rip off both Lamrock and Chaser idea in this one. But what the heck I just want to write this one. It kinda stuck on my head a long time. You may notice some grammar/spelling errors in this one . I hope I get readers this time

Behind the Court: Minnesota Timberwolves Insider
Part 1: A surprise replacement

As Wolves star tribune blogger Vins Duroy came walking to the Timberwolves front office to know what will be his next assignment. He overheard a conversation between the 3 faces of Minnesota franchise.

Well, I see that the two of you have some nice suggestions to our roster? You two need to combine together in order for us to have a great team” said team owner Glen Taylor.

I have been thinking of getting a veteran player in order for our team to have some experience. The players could learn a thing or two from him,” suggested VP of basketball operations Kevin Mchale. What do you have for us Jim?

Well, I think our team is perfect right now, we have a developing Al Jefferson, we get another young big men from Kevin Love and a great shooter from Miller, what do we expect now from this team? The only thing I can say is that we need another lottery pick.” said GM Jim Stack.

WHAT? Do you mean that we have to keep losing in order for us to be a lottery pick? What kind of GM are you anyway? So Mchale, you said that you have been getting tired of stupid discussion being made by this man?

Yes, I don’t see why this guy just wants the team to be in the lottery pick. He is putting the team in the wrong way. My patience has grown tired of his stupid ness. I suggest fir-

You gonna fire me because of that? But I know what is good for the team and that is to lose and not get to the playoffs then get a young star out of the draft.

I have heard enough of your nonsense Stack. YOU’RE FIRED

You cant do this to me, you imbeciles, YOU are the ones getting the team the bad way by firing me .”said the fired GM as he get out of the door when he notices someone his eavesdropping their conversation. Hey you what are you doing here?

Ah, nothing, just waiting for my boss said the blogger

Hey is that Vins? Come inside we have some business to talk to said Mchale after hearing Vins.

Hmmm, they are just gonna replace me with that kid? Don’t think I will give up this easily as Stack leave the building with a scheme in mind

You know what Taylor; I have already found a replacement for Stack, he can be a great help for us in building our team. I had known him since he was an assistant GM for the Memphis but after getting fired. I hired him as our insider. What do you think Taylor?

Wait a minute? Me as GM? I don’t think I can handle th-

Hmm, all right guess we can give it a try, but you Mchale are going to pay for him not me all right? Oh, may I leave you two for a while? Since I still have something to attend to say Taylor as he leaves the office thinking of the sudden change of events.

So Vins, today you are now officially the General Manager of the Minnesota Timberwolves. I hope you can make this team a contender some day. Our fans is expecting a lot from the start since we traded Garnett last season. We need to show that we can win even without a future Hall Of Famer in our team. I know that you only have a short tenure being a assistant GM in the Memphis Grizzlies but I have heard that you have suggest getting players like Andrea Bargnani and Chanchey Billups and that players should have help the Griz into being a contender in the West. So any ideas you have when it comes to our roster?

Guess I don’t have any chose now though the newly acquired GM. Hmm, I think this team does need a veteran leadership and I think I know who to get to said Vins as he keeps his ideas in secret….for now..
