FREE AGENT WOLVES

Hello guyss... well I'm a great fan of NBA 2005 so I'm starting a new dynasty but not as the common one...

I decided to use Minnesota because they are in my opinion the worst team in 2007-08 (I'm using the end of the season rosters) And I released everybody, yes as it sounds! And I use in my very first year all free agents!

It's going to be tough but well... It's exciting to see how the season goes!

In a surprising move the Minnesota Timberwolves fired is GM and decided to hire Alejandro Viano into that position

Viano, 32, was the GM of Atenas de Cordoba in the Argentinian League... He is know in the basketball world for his weird but very succesfull moves and roster shakes...

With this hiring we can predict a mayor roster overhaul in the next days... and maybe an Coaching change too.

Minnesota right now is in the offseason... They have a young core but it is rumored that there are some problems between the players...

Marko Jaric said to ESPN: "I don't know where are we going... We don't have a true leader... there's no friendship between us and there is no winning soul here"

Al Jefferson: "Everybody wants to score their points... They don't think as a team... No one here deserves respect..."

Randy Foye: "This team sucks... I don't want to play for a team with no respect, no work ethic... Everybody just play for the contract"

The new manager Alejandro Viano wasn't available for comments as he was travelling to Sevilla, Spain. Nobody knows what is he doing... But it is rumored that he previously visited Memphis and after Spain he will travel to Russia.

We will keep informing about this.

Minnesota fires Wittman, Hires Gonzalez

Chomba Gonzalez becames the new Head Coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves. He fills the position that Randy Wittman had for more than a year, but he was fired today in the very first move of new GM Alejandro Viano.

GM Viano in the press conference: "I'm glad to present Chomba Gonzalez as the new Head Coach of the new Minnesota Timberwolves. He will bring defense an a new fresh air to this franchise.
"I want to thank Randy Wittman for all the effort with the organization, and I wish the best for the future"

This move was rumored by the press, knowing that Viano always trusted in his own coaches

Gonzalez, 33, was the coach of Union de Oncativo, an Argentinian team that gained the promotion to the National League.
He is well known for his Ultra defensive system. His team always defended full court all the game...

We have too see if he can bring the FIBA tempo to the NBA

TIMBERWOLVES NEW SLOGAN

In the same conference press, Alejandro Viano presented the Timberwolves slogan for the 2008 - 2009 season

GM Viano: The Minnesota Timberwolves are very proud to show to all our fans and the basketball world our new slogan for the upcoming season...

In the wall a flag was showed with the slogan: "Welcome to the jungle"

Viano told that "Welcome to the jungle" means that now the T-Wolves arena is going to be a monster... And he adveticed everybody to try to beat the Timberwolves at home.

Let's see how they fare

MINNESOTA SHOCKS THE WORLD - RELEASES ALL THEIR PLAYERS

In a shocking move, GM Alejandro Viano decided to release all the Minnesota roster. Why? All the problems that the players had each other.

GM Viano: "One of the thing that a basketball player should have is respect, not only for the teammates, they must respect the jersey they are wearing. And this roster was far away from that respect so I decided to let them go. I don't want superstars, I wan't basketball players, not only with skills, i want them with soul, heart and balls to play the ball"

Then he revealed his trips to Memphis, Spain and Russia

Agustin Giraudo. ESPN: "Mr. Viano, can you told to the press why te travel to Memphis and Europe?"
GM Viano: "Sure, I went to Memphis to contact with Penny Hardaway, he is a Free Agent so I decided to ask him to come to Minnesota to play, and bring his experience.
In Spain I talked to Nikoloz Tskitishvili, a player that I want on my roster and finally in Russia I contacted with Pavel Podkolzin, I want those 3 in Minnesota"

ESPN: " And how will you fill the roster? Trading picks? Free Agency?
GM Viano: "I will use only players that i can adquire in Free Agency. Why? It's a challenge and here there will be players that can play real basketball

Minnesota Fans are in shock. The NBA too

MINNESOTA ANNOUNCES THEIR NEW ROSTER

A month away from the shockin mega-release, the T-Wolves presents their roster:

Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway - PG
Nikoloz Tskitishvili - PF
Pavel Podkolzin - C
Jiri Welsch - SG
Darius Miles - SF
Antonio Davis - C
Maciej Lampe - PF
Qyntel Woods - SF
Luke Jackson - SG
Dajuan Wagner - PG
Stacey Augmon - SG
Cilfford Robinson - PF
Marcus Fizer - SF
Charles "Bo" Outlaw - PF
Giorgios Printezis - SF

It is a bit confusing the signing of Miles, Woods, Wagner and Fizer, former NBA players that saw is career down in a very bad way. Viano answered that he was giving to them a chance. He talked specially about Miles

GM Viano: "Darius is a great player... I know that his knee is a risk, but i will give him a chance, maybe his last, he has to prove that his knee is healed and his spirit is ready to fight"

Then he speaked about the veterans

GM Viano: " I brougth Antonio, Stacey, Cliff and Penny as player coaches, they had solid careers and they must show the way to the youngers. That is why they are here. They will play too, but have to win the minutes

Tskitishvili shines, but Wolves fell to Warriors in OT

In the inaugural game of the season, the new look Wolves lost to the GSW 92 -90 in a classic which was decided in overtime (73-73)

At the begining the Wolves looked lost, they had no playmaker in the team. The first quarter ended 17-20 with 12 points of Skita and 5 of Dajuan Wagner.

The game was close the entire game, the only time a team had a light of leading were the Warriors when Baron Davis scored 5 points and Monta Ellis a Three pointer to put the game 71 - 61 with 1 minute left.
After that a timeout was called and the game was another.

Minnesota atacked and Penny Hardaway missed a 3pt attemp with 45'', then they fouled Monta Ellis, he sank 1 FT and Tskitishvili sank a 3 with 32'' left. The game was 72-64. Then they fouled Baron Davis and he sank one FT. Skita sank another 3 pointer from the middle to put Minnesota within 6 with 14'' left. Then Maciej Lampe stole the inbound pass and he was alone in the corner, he shot and made the 3 pointer with 10'' left. Biedrins tried to inbound a pass to Ellis and Penny stole the ball, run behind the arc and shooted sinkin his only attemp from downtown. Then Davis failed a 3 pt at the buzzer because Lampe blocked his shot.

In overtime GSW led by 5 with 3'' left and Skita made a desperate 3 pointer. Then Jiri Welsch stole the ball but his shot at the buzzer was long and Golden State won the game

NOTES

* Tskitishvili set career highs with 45 points, 17 rebounds and 6 blocks
* Lampe sank a 3 pointer from halfcourt at the end of the 3rd, he sank another in the 4th
* Jiri Welsch, the starting SG had 0 points in 29'

WOLVES HANDS NETS FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON

In a game based on defense the Wolves beat the Nets at home 74-58. Minnesota won the game despite having a harsh night shootin (36%) but they allowed just 29 points to Jefferson and Carter (17 and 12) and also the Nets couldn't make a single 3 pointer in the entire game (0-10)

Tskitishvili led the way with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, 5 assists and 5 blocks, raising eyebrows in the rest of the league. Podkolzin rebounded from a bad debut with 10 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks

For New Jersey Richard Jefferson led the team with 17 points.

Darius Miles injured is right knee while being fouled in a dunk attemp. He played again but coach Gonzalez decided to rest him and use Qyntel Woods in his place. The medic of the team said that it was just a hit, the common called "paralityc" but knowing Miles history of knees, he will rest but won't lose any game.

ALWAYS DEFENSE. WOLVES WIN AT MEMPHIS

In a very thight matchup Minnesota beat the Memphis Grizzlies 62-56. The Wolves had a worse night shooting than against the Nets (28%) but again the defense shined.

Tskitishvili scored 30 points along his 12 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocks and Darius Miles recovered from a knee injury played a great game, he only scored 5 points but limited Mike Miller to just 13 points in 6-17 from the field. Miles also had 6 blocks (all on Miller) and 4 steals.

GM Alejandro Viano decided to release all the Minnesota roster

:? Not a very realistic dynasty? Am I right?

Tskitishvili is averaging: 32 ppg/12 rpg/2 apg/3 stl/4 blk

Although it's far, far from being similar to reality, I think it's an original idea (Y)

Defense, always defense. That's what happened in the 72-55 victory of the Wolves at Philly

Tskitishvili led again the Wolves with 30 points and 7 blocks. Podkolzin almost had a triple double with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 8 blocks.
Philadelphia suffered the collosal full court defense of the Wolves, shooting for 32% from the field. Iguodala led the team with 19 points, scoring 10 in the 4th quarter.

NOTES:

* Jiri Welsch sank a 3 pointer, the first of the season. He shot 1-4 in the game

Thanks for the advice, I fixed it, there's Philly Boxscore

I'm still waiting for a 3 pointer of Welsch of Jackson... They sank 2 from 30...

I need a 3 point shooter in the next draft. And it's going to be strong the depth
