Dealt's Bulls Dynasty

Postby dealt on Mon Jun 23, 2008 5:56 pm

Hi. I'm on my third season of my Bulls Dynasty Mode on NBA Live 08 (PC). I started my dynasty using the default roster. Here's my settings:

My Initial Roster:

2007-2008 Season Team Record:

2008-2009 Roster with few adjustments:
Traded: Khryapa(65), Duhon(69), Griffin(68), Nocioni(77).
Added: J.Smith(82), A. Harrington(80)

Pre-2008-2009 Playoffs (Added McGrady):
Traded:J.Smith(82), A. Harrington(80) for T.McGrady(93)

2008-2009 Records:

Current Roster (Third Season):
Traded: B. Wallace for P. Gasol
Traded: T.McGrady and T.Thomas for V.Carter and R. Jefferson
Traded: Sefolosha and Sophomore Diez for A.Thornton
Traded: Harrington and Rookie for C.Bosh

Notes:
- Favorite player here is Kinrich and M. Almond, a rookie from 2007-2008 season.
- Sophomore Center B.Stojanovic seems to have a very good potential. Current rate 75 and with my recent signing with Assistant Philip Moya, (rating: Offense A, Defense A, Athletics A), I think I can improve Stojanovic to <>80 this season.

Please feel free to post your comments and suggestions. I'm still thinking about the T.McGrady/T.Thomas - V.Carter and R.Jefferson trade, although I tried playing 2 games and I'm starting to like carter's smooth outside shooting. What do you guys think? Thanks

ey, thanks Doc Noc! you think vc and rj trade for mc grady worth it? age is one factor i'm considering with this team, and i just recently learned that vc is already 32(or 33). but he's still a monster on the court though.

Is it really challenging for you, when you go 82-0 for two straight years? Propably 16-0 in the playoffs. And now, your team is full of stars.

Just not worth following.

I appreciate the fact that you really took time to look at the screenshots I posted. Just for the record, I didn't edit any .dbf files, no increase in salary cap or any 'manual' manipulation of the core nba files. those were actual trades as allowed by the engines logic. i played maybe 60% of all the games and simulated the rest. Maybe the only cheating I made was not saving the game when I lost in the simulation then re-loading and re-ordering the the team's line-up to match the current opponent.

You have a good point, maybe for this season I'll try to achieve a more realistic stats.

He is saying that these trades won't happen in real life
if you were the Lakers or whoever had Gasol
would you trade away a multi-talented Gasol for a one dimensional Wallace
and
Traded: Khryapa(65), Duhon(69), Griffin(68), Nocioni(77).
Added: J.Smith(82), A. Harrington(80)
that is really unrealistic

those are trades that might happen in NBA Live
but when people read dynasty's they want to see trades that might happen in real life...

but meh its your dynasty and you can do whatever you want
and it seems you are doing extremly well

Thanks. I understand your comments clearly. Well it's the first time I tried dynasty and I guess I enjoy pushing the games' logic to the limits ;)

Anyway, if ever i'll start another dynasty with updated roster, are there any patches that can improve the game engines' trade management? I'm also wondering, how does dynasty mode end? A dynasty game covers 25 years right? Has anybody here finished one?

Nope, when players start retiring I kind of get bored soon after. I don't think that'd be the case if they gave the generated rookies a little more depth.
