I'll post game vs Jazz probably today-last game of November. Than YOU will vote what was the game of month(i'll tell you more later), and than the full month report is coming up. Stay IN.
November 30th 2006, Staples Center - Los Angeles - California. Los Angeles Lakers hosted the team that they've beat six days ago on their home floor in Salt Lake City. Yes, it was Utah Jazz that were coming in Los Angeles to go head to head with the second best team of the west - Lakers.
"Mr. Johnson many people did not understand the last move you made, as they think Bobcat's next year's draft pick won't be that high because they look like a playoff team right now and we all know that Othella Harrington won't have any real role on this team? So can you please explain us what was the desicion to make this trade?"Carl asked Lakers's GM Earvin Johnson. "Yes Carl, but people don't have that specific draft reports as we do, our scout Mr. Matsou said that this upcomig draft have a lot of young talent and that we just need at least one first round pick, also Vladimir's contract was pretty long and we've gor plenty of range already with Sasha and Farmar, while Harrington's contract ends at the end of this year." "Thank you, Earvin"
Lakers started this season very good, with 10 wins and only 4 losses before this game. And first quarter showed us that. Lakers took total control of the game in this first period. They played exelent offense. Drawing double teams on Gasol and Bynum, what made outside range for long shoots by Farmar and Odom. Kobe Bryant sitted out last three minutes of the first quarter due to back injury. While he was going for a dunk, Bozzer hitted him hard and he feel on his back, but he returened later in the game as we'll see.
Lakers started this second twelve minutes with a eleven point lead on their home floor. Jazz stayed in touch with the Lakers in the second as they played more on the inside on Kirilenko and Boozer as these two scored 22 of Utah's 28 second quarter points. As we still couldn't see Deron Williams play(same as last week, he's still out with sore ankle), Jason Hart played great basketball, he was a real court leader for the Jazz. Utah went to the half time with a ten point deficite.
As Kobe returned on the floor, getting a wild support from the fans, he didn't want to risk a lot of action so he just took the back seat in the Lakers Show and played more on the position of the playmaker. This is also visible from his stats as he had only 6 field goal attempts, but he had 7 assists - team high. Lakers took even bigger lead in the third as they extend it to 18 points. Gasol and Farmar scored the most of it in the third. Gasol got ten and Farmar got eleven.
Coach Phil Jackson putted the most of his bench players in the game in the fourth quarter. It was the only remaining chance for the Jazz to try outscore Lakers big time to come back in the game. Well, they did score really a lot but Lakers bench scored greatly right back on the other side. Leading the way for the Lakers were Vujacic and highflying Trevor Ariza, both scored 13 points. Sasha even posted his career high in blocks with three. Jazz came back to nine points at the end and maybe if they had another 5 minutes to play they would even get right back, but this way Lakers took it for their 11th win.
Player of the game was KB24 with 18 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and a block.
One of Bynum's three blocks.
