"Hello, and welcome to ESPN Radio. Today, Memphis Grizzles owner Michael Heisley has fired President of Basketball Operations Jerry West and hired Kevin Collins, a California native. ESPN has interviewed owner Michael Heisley and Kevin Collins and the interview can be read on ESPN's website.

"Hello, Scoop Jackson here." Today we interview Memphis Grizzle owner Michael Heisley and new General Manager Kevin Collins.

"So Michael, why did you hire this new GM? Jerry West has obviously constructed a great team."

Well, Scoop, thats not what the record says. Jerry West said he was getting tired of this job and wanted to retire.

"But why hire this man? Is he even a man yet? He's so young!"

I have faith in his. Certain factors influenced me.

"What would these factors be?"



"Ok, on to Kevin. Kevin, how good do you think you will do as the new GM?"

Well,I plan on changing this roster around a little bit. But it might not get changed much, maybe a younger team. Jerry West sure knew how to build a team.

"Do you have any predictions for the Grizzles this year?"

I'll say they win their first playoff match, and move to the 2nd round. I would even say a certain someone for the all star team.

"I can honestly not criticize you, nor give you can kind of props, nobody knows who you are!"

"Why fire the guy? He's only coached two seasons and has lead the team to 45 and 49 wins each season!"

"Grizzles have alot to live up to after their GM's predictions."

Newcomers help Grizzles win

The Memphis Grizzles won their opening home game vs the New York Knicks today. 94-89 was the final score.New comer TJ Ford was traded from the Toronto Raptors for Junior Harrington and Damon Stoudimire. TJ Ford shot 2-10 but dished out eight assists. TJ Ford played 36 minutes and followed the faster pace of Tony Barone, Sr's gameplan vs the old slow,half court offense.Pau Gasol poured in 29 and grabbed eight rebounds. Three of them offensive.

"I couldn't be stopped by anyone on that team. And TJ (Ford) got me alot of good looks."-Pau Gasol.

Mike Miller added 14 and Jake Tsakalidis had a double double with ten points and ten rebounds.

The Grizzles look to add to their win column when the play the Bobcats next.


Their stood Jason. A half eaten pizza lay on the desk beside him. The tv plays sports center highlights. Their are his Grizzles. He is happy with everyone. Except Mike Miller. His points are scored on spot ups. He fumbled the ball while trying to take a player off the dribble.

My lazy ass just simmed the next 2 games vs the bobcats and pistons. We beat the bobcats then a traded Mike Miller and our first round pick to the wizards for caron butler. Then we beat the pistons and I traded scott padget, jake, and our second round pick to the hawks for zaza and josh smith. We play the rockets next. Expect a more detail recap.
