Detroit- Hello, this is Jason Anderson with channel K news. As the Wallaces dunked, Hamilton and Prince reigned treys, and Billups practiced his skills, Piston GM CJ Patterson was getting his butt kicked in. Or not. On Tuesday Patterson, who has a reputation for being a 'gangster', got into a street fight. Apparently he was provoked and then flipped out a switch knife, and a fight ensued. Patterson went to the hospital to treat injuries, and the 2 attackers fled the scene, but were found dead later on in an alley.
"How vague", CJ Patterson thought, lying amongst the white sheets of Detroit Garden Hospital. "They barely reported on any of it. Half the story they left out. What the hell?" he remarked to his assistant, Bill Whit, who had his hand holding a bandage to his forehead. "You weren't mentioned at all, Bill."
"Yeah, well, whatever, I'd rather not be."
"Well I'd rather not be either. Damn, what happens when Jackson finds out?" Derrek Jackson, the team's owner, was normally laid back, but wanted to try to keep the team image clean.
"To be honest, I dunno why the hell he hired YOU of all people."
"Ha, ha, you're so funny. Well, I'm out of this pit tomorrow, so we'll go check on the team, and get back to normal."
"Yeah, I'll be back to pick you up."
10 minutes later Patterson was starting to doze off while watching a report on teen suicide rates dropping. "Ahhhh, who the hell cares, if they wanna kill themselves... let... them... do it..."
"Hey buddy, got a match?"
"Sure, here."
Patterson walked on down the street. "That guy was strange looking," remarked Bill Whit, his assistant and good friend. "Yeah, you get those types."
"Hey! You there! Gimme your wallet!"
"What the fu-"
"I said give me it! Now!"
"No way, you bum."
Patterson and Whit were facing a man in a mask who clearly was trying to pass his finger off as a gun through his coat.
"Yeah, well I'll shoot you."
"Yeah, you little amateur, well say hello to Mr. Whittles." CJ flipped his 6 inch knife out and started advancing on the man.
"Uh!" Bill was tackled to the ground by the man who had asked for a light earlier.
Patterson stabbed the man in the side, but then was hit by the masked man's fist in the side of the head. CJ pushed the man off him then stomped on his chest. "Next time, amateur, don't mess with a pro." He viciously stabbed the man in the chest, then helped Bill stumble a few steps before they both passed out. Last he remembered, the two robbers were running off. He looked at the bloody knife. "Serves those g'damn bas****s right."
