Clippers defeat Pistons and extend winning streak to 3
Another win against serious contenders for the Clippers. Despite trailing during the 1st, the Clippers rallied back hard to lead at the half. Corey Maggette was the best contributor, scoring 16 points. The Clippers extended the lead in the 3rd, with Elton Brand and backup guard Eric Piatkowski making some big shots. A controlled 4th quarter performance, and some good team defense, secured the win for the Clippers. Backup centre Pavel Podkolzin made a good contribution, going 7/7 from the field, for 15 points in 12 minutes.

Big Ben's 10 rebounds and 6 blocks were not enough against the Clippers, who are now on a 3 game winning streak.

Despite getting hit hard by Sheed and Big Ben, he kept coming back for more.

Hawks
T. Lue
J. Johnson
J. Smith
A. Harrington
J. McCoy

What the.....????
No disrespect to the Hawks, who have plenty of good, young players (Johnson, Smith, Childress, Harrington, Williams), but when you beat the Spurs and Pistons, you expect to smash the Hawks. That isn't how it turned out. Joe Johnson was certainly enjoying himself, and the former Phoenix Sun had his way with Doug Christie and Piatkowski all game, finsihing with 30 points. The game was close, until midway through the 4th quarter the Hawks opened up a small lead. The Clippers never recovered, and the winning streak ended.

Rookie Salim Stoudamire had 25 points, including 5 three's, for the Hawks.

Final Score:
Clippers - 103
Hawks - 113

Notable Performances:
LAC - Elton Brand (14pts, 7reb, 6/9 FG)
LAC - Corey Maggette (21pts, 4reb, 7/13 FG)
LAC - Shaun Livingston (7pts, 11ast, 3/5 FG)

ATL - Joe Johnson (30pts, 1stl, 12/21 FG)
ATL - Salim Stoudamire (25pts, 2ast, 5/7 3PT)
ATL - Josh Smith (13pts, 6reb, 6/11 FG)

Player of the Game:

ATL - Joe Johnson
30pts, 1reb, 0ast, 1stl, 0blk (12/21 FG, 3/4 3PT, 3/4 FT)

Maybe a little one dimensional, but he kept knocking down shots.

Next up, the NBA heads to Houston, for the 2006 All Star Weekend!
