Raptors Announce Preseason Schedule

To allow newly hired Toronto Raptors General Manager Paul Hughes to get a good look at his new players and to get a feel for the NBA style of play the Raptors will be playing 5 preason games.

Friday 14th October - Jazz @ Raptors
Sunday 16th October - Raptors @ Celtics
Thursday 20th October - Nets @ Raptors
Monday 24th October - Raptors @ Cavs
Thursday 27th October - Raptors @ Blazers

Former Raptors Vince Carter will be in town on the 20th, before returning second game of the season, Friday 4th November. Will he get a similar welcome as April 15th? Or have the Raps fans finally moved on?

Raptors rookies, Charlie Villanueva, Joey Graham and Jose Calderon can expect a lot of minutes throughout the preseason and I'm sure they won't disappoint. On the other hand, Eric Williams, Aaron Williams and Tierre Brown need to prove their value to the team. There is no doubt that there is a center issue, both CB4 and CV31 are set to play at the 3 and 4 as they will struggle to handle the bigger bodies on the boards if they play at the 5th spot. After a poor first season, Rafael Araujo needs to start developing his game and cannot afford to give away anymore cheap fouls or pickup few rebounds and blocked shots. If Hoffa shows little or no improvement, don't be surprised to see him on the trading block.

Jazz @ Raptors
Friday 14th October

Rapters Insider
Rebuilding in Toronto, the Raptors are looking to build a team around talented star Chris bosh. With additions of Charlie Villanueva, Joey Graham and Jose Calderon, the Raptors hope that experienced vetarns Jalen Rose and newly aquired Mike James can steer the rookies into a future contender.

Jazz Insider
Since the days of Malone and Stockton, times haven't been so good in Utah. However with the 3rd pick in this years draft the Jazz selected Deron Williams whom great things are expected. Along with Andrei 'AK47' Kirlenko and Carlos Boozer, the Jazz could be a team to watch out for, sneaking into the playoffs.

Game Time
The Raptors will aim for a quick start and hope for big games from Chris Bosh and Jalen Rose. They are going to struggle keeping Memhet Okur and Carlos Boozer off the boards and Pape Sow (who is expected to start) will need to work really hard to get the rebounds from the Jazz big men. The Jazz will also look to shoot the 3's with several top notch shooters on their roster, however the Raptors can put up the big shots also.

Projected Starters

Raptors
PG - Mike James
SG - Morris Peterson
SF - Joey Graham
PF - Chris Bosh
C - Pape Sow

Jazz
PG- Deron Williams
SG - Gordon Giricek
SF - Andrei Kirlenko
PF - Carlos Boozer
C - Mehmet Okur

Tip off at the ACC - 7:00pm Tonight

Raptors Can't Stop The Jazz

The Raptors new they were going to struggle stopping Carlos Boozer inside and they did just that. After 2mins Booz was taken out of the game suffering 2 quick early fouls, but the Raptors could not stop a stunning perfroamce from rookie Deron Williams. Williams, who would finsih with a game high 34 points ran the Raptors guards into the ground. Giricek, Kirlenko and Okur also finished in double figures for the Jazz. Meanwhile Chris Bosh lead the way for the Raptors with 27 points. Pape Sow impressed adding 8 points and 10 rebounds, maybe he can emerge as the answer to the Raptors problems at the center position.

Poor defence and an incredible 9 consecutive missed shots from the Raptors saw the Jazz take an 11 point lead going to the half time break, by mid way through the 3rd the Raps seemed to have given hope of a comeback as the Jazz ran away without for a 21 point victory at the ACC.

"Our rebounding looked better than last year, but we need to step up our defence and look for more scoring opportunites when CB4 doesn't have the ball." commented new Raps GM Paul Hughes.

The Celtics hose the Raptors Sunday, Hughesy's men will look to turn around their shabby start to their preseason. Listen to all the action live on The Fan 590 - Toronto's Sport Radio, tip off 6:30pm.

Very neat presentation but it's a shame that you don't have the game for PC because the quality of the pictures are pretty poor. Oh well, it's not that big of a deal though and I like how your recaps are long enough to give you enough details but short enough to read through quickly.

Im playing Sow at the moment anyway but Bosh isn't a center, hes to skinny, he plays better at a PF posiion like KG, Villanueva is versitile but I doubt he will be playing at the Center spot because he won't be strong enough, personally I'd like to see either CV31 or Graham starting this year in the small forward spot, with Rose or Mo Pete SG. Araujo sucks, everyone knows that, but give him another chance this year, after that I'll be joining the Hoffa Haters too if needed :D

Raptors @ Celtics
Sunday 16th October

Raptors Insider
Coming off a bad perfroamce at home to Utah, the Raptors look to turn things around tonight when they take on the Celtics in Boston. Pape Sow is expected to regain his starting position after impressing last game, while Jalen Rose should be replacing Mo Pete at the starting guard positon. Bosh will look to continue his good start with another big game.

Celtics Insider
With Antonie Walker and Gary Payton gone, once again this is Paul Pierce's franchise, expect some big numbers again from him this season. With a good , strong young team, the Celtics could make it to the playoffs once more.

Game Time
Mike James will look to run the floor for the Raptors as they will go for an early lead, Rose, Mo Pete and James will need to knock down the shots while CB4 and CV31 attack the basket. If the Raps can stop Davis and Pierce driving ot the hole, they should be able to pick up the win tonight.

Projected Starters

Celtics
PG - Delonte West
SG - Ricky Davis
SF - Paul Pierce
PF - Al Jefferson
C - Raef Lafrentz

Raptors
PG - Mike James
SG - Jalen Rose
SF - Charlie Villanueva
PF - Chris Bosh
C - Pape Sow

Tip off at Celtics Arena - 60:30pm tonight

Raptors Hold Off The Celts In Boston

The Raptors got the job done in Boston. Jalen Rose and co. lead the Raptors to quick 11-2 lead, but in the second qaurter Ricky Davis and the Celtics came straight back and took a lead of their own going into the half time break. They would go on to extend their lead in the 3rd, Paul Pierce knocking down several clutch shots in a row, while an ice cold Raptors unit would miss 6 consecutive shots. The Raps fought back though as the Celts 17 point lead was erased by some good shooting from Mike James and some good defence inside by Pape Sow. Bosh was excellent throughout (34pts), hitting all his three throws to send the Raps back into the lead with 40 seconds to go. The Celtics quickly responded as Paul Pierce hit a long range 2pt shot. An amazing assist by James to set up Bosh for the throw down and a thumble from Delonte West that lead to an intentional foul from Davis, James hit his free throws and the Celts were done. The Raps taking the game 106 to 104.

"We came here to win tonight, and we got the job done. Mike shot the ball well and Pape played great inside again." - Player of the game, Chris Bosh.

The Raptors will look to build on this win when they host former Raptor Vince Carter and the New Jersey Nets on Thursday. On the 15th April Carter made his first return to Toronto where he was met with thousands of insulting signs, a deafening amount of booing and people with torn Carter jerseys on crutches. Also Alvin Williams is expected to make his long awaited return to action missing after missing all of last season recovering from an injury. Raptors NBA TV will have all the action live - Don't Miss It!

Sorry guys I'm going to have to call it quits.

I don't really have the time and patience to keep this going, I'd rather just get playing the games and read other people's better dyansties. I'm also low on photoshop skills to create decent looking mags and shit also so there isn't really any great point in doing so. There isn't much point carrying on if it won't last anyway, I'll still stay and check out the forum and the other dynasties. Shout out to fellow Bosh fan [C][B]#4 , Keep it up bro your Raps dynasty is sick!
