CAVS COME BACK TO WIN AGAINST HORNETS

Cleveland Cavs had a fine win last night over New Orleans Hornets. The Cavs started by scoring well, but Jamaal Magloire played an amazing first quarter, scoring 12 points to keep the Hornets in the game. In the second and third quarters, the Hornets were hitting lots of three-pointers and the Cavs had trouble keeping up. Eventually, they tied the game and decided it in the fourth quarter thanks to some great play again by Larry Hughes. After just two points in the first half, Hughes was on fire, scoring 18 in the third and fourth quarters. The Cavs won the game by ten points. Drew Gooden was impressive with 27 points and 13 boards, but the Cavs couldn't have won without Hughes and LeBron James. James scored 24 but again had trouble with his jump shooting, going 10 for 21 from the field. Hughes made eight of his ten shots. Tractor Traylor came off the bench, scoring 14 points by making all his seven shots! Jamaal Magloire had 20 and 7, Chris Paul scored 21 and had eight assists, while Casey Jacobsen and J.R. Smith scored 14 each. The Hornets made eleven three-pointers, but it wasn't enough for the win.

"It's great to win games but I'm not happy with my shooting", said James. "I'm going through a pretty bad patch."

The game below (Rockets) was a bit stupid, the Rockets really had the worst inside D I've ever played against in this dynasty. I made a couple of slider changes, but no... Traylor moves Vin Baker out of his way, misses layup, Baker falls on his ass, Traylor scores....

CAVS BEAT WEAK ROCKETS, JAMES IS INJURED

Cleveland Cavs took a comfortable win over Houston Rockets last night. The game took off in the worst way possible, with LeBron James being injured in the first play of the night. He was out for the game, but the Cavs kept scoring against the Rockets on the inside. It's no surprise that the Rockets have a losing record looking at their inside defence. Tractor Traylor put up 30 points, and Drew Gooden scored 26. If they missed, the rebound was theirs. Only Yao put up any resistance, and once he got into foul trouble, the Rockets were in trouble. Juwan Howard, Clarence Weatherspoon and most of all Vin Baker were terrible on defence. However, it was Larry Hughes who was perhaps the most vital player of all for the Cavs. He scored 18 and grabbed eight rebounds and made four steals. More importantly, he held last season's MVP Tracy McGrady to just 14 points. Yao had 23 points to lead the Rockets. Rebounds were 31-20 in favour of the Cavs, who also shot an incredibly high percentage of .646. It wasn't just the big guys shooting well, DerMarr Johnson was 6 for 7 from the field and scored 13.

"It was important for us to get Yao into foul trouble", said Gooden, who also took a knock in the second quarter. "Once we did that we dominated the key."

The Cavs face the Charlotte Bobcats next, who have had a disappointing start to the season.

James and Gooden both fit to face Bobcats

LeBron James and Drew Gooden have both been declared fit for the Cavs' next game against the Charlotte Bobcats. James was injured in the first minute of the game against Houston and stayed out. Gooden spent only a few minutes on the bench before returning to action.

The Bobcats added Andrei Kirilenko to their team in the offseason, but surprisingly they hold a miserable 1-12 record.

Thanks for your feedback, Kobe101, CB#4, nbalova!! I suppose I could be much better if I had just signed a big man from free agency, like Pau Gasol. I'm used to scoring power forwards, but it's more of a challenge trying to score with Hughes. Well, I'm improving.

CAVS STRUGGLE BUT COME BACK TO BEAT BOBCATS

Cleveland Cavs struggled against the Charlotte Bobcats last night, but came back from 16 points down to win the game. The Bobcats came to Cleveland with a terrible 1-12 record, but soon showed they are a better team, making a couple of excellent runs. At the start of the third quarter, they really caught fire and extended their lead to as much as 16. The Cavs really needed to fight to come back, and it was again Larry Hughes who made some big plays to fire up his team. Towards the end, the Cavs already had a ten-point lead. Drew Gooden was named player of the game again with 22 and 13, scoring many points from foul shots. LeBron James scored 30 but couldn't contribute in other ways than scoring. Larry Hughes had 16 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals, an impressive game. Tractor Traylor followed up his 30-point showing with just four points. Emeka Okafor was the Bobcats' main force with 17 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. Traylor and Olowokandi were unable to stop him, but when Anderson Varejao came on, he shut Okafor down completely. Andrei Kirilenko had 11 points and 11 rebounds, Raymond Felton scored 17.

"We didn't plan on going down by double digits but we showed some real character to get the win", said Hughes.

The Cavs meet the Sacramento Kings in their next game.

My situation right now is that I'm excited/skeptical about Live 06 but having played this game for quite a while it really feels like I need a change.

I do appreciate all your support but I figured I could do a much better dynasty, I mean with some graphics, magazines and a little more imagination than this one. This felt like a bit of a waste with me playing several games a day, nobody will have time or interest to read five new recaps! We'll see what happens...

it's fun to see the "fluff" graphic stuff like magazines, billboards, etc since i like to think i'm a creative guy, but i'm more interested in how the gm is working the team and how the coach is running the games.

your dynasty is rock solid, in terms of strategy, gameplay and personnel decisions. no matter what team you pick, it's always a good read. don't give up.

I thought that if Live 06 turns out to be a good game I would do a longer season with a bit more time between games so people can catch up and read one or two instead of five recaps. I could make it more lifelike with some player interviews and a bit of graphics but still try to give an idea of what's happening on court.
