DESHAWN JOHNSON THE NEXT BIG THING?

Image

17 year old Simeon Junior, Deshawn Johnson has been dazzling scouts with his super athleticism and great passing skill, he's been given comparisons of John Wall/Russell Westbrook in the athletic department, he also has jumper smoother than butter. He's also said to have similar passing skills to that of Rajon Rondo, and the ball IQ of Chris Paul. Big expectations for this young man as he has averaged 20ppg, 6rpg and 10apg. Those stats, just make everyone excited for his senior season, the sky is the limit for this young man. We were able to get an interview with the young man earlier this week.

Reporter: There seems to be alot of hype about you, similar to the hype Andrew Wiggins had gotten last year. Has any of this effected your mindset or game?

Deshawn: No, not at all. Everyday I go into the gym and give 110% on the court, it doesn't matter if I wasn't even projected to even go to college. I have a real love for the game.

Reporter: Tons of people have been projecting what your stats will be in your senior year, one guy said you'll probably average a triple double, what do you think about that?

Deshawn: Hehe, it's cool, but that a lot of hard work to do that, I have the drive to do so, but I'm not in it for the stats, I just want to win.

Reporter: People are calling you the next great point guard of the NBA, what do you think?

Deshawn: Well I like the sound of that. Haha. Though Who knows if I even go to the NBA? Right now I'm just focused on the present and getting Simeon a championship again.

The young prospect has brought his team 1 state championship from his amazing play from his junior year and this year it seems to be no different, people are routing for this young man to succeed and it looks like he just might.

But is there just a little bit to much hype?

Editors Note: Just a sneak peak of what is to come, stay tuned!.
