With the Jazz in rebuild mode i thought they would be a fun team to use, Trey Burke ... Derrick Favors ... Gordon Hayward ... what more can you ask for??
This team has no leaders no expectations just flat out hustle and development options and its not just there core players you also have room for improvement with the roster too so look for me to spice things up for the people of Utah !

Keys to the Game -

The Thunder were a tough team to play and the Jazz would of lost if it was not Gordon Hayward shooting an incredible 10-15 from the field and hitting 8-8 at the line, Utah was plagued by turnovers (18) and poor inside finishing from mainly Favors and Alec Burks.

Rookie Trey Burke didnt shoot the ball well and had 4 TO's 3 of which came in the 4th forcing the coach to roll with fellow newcomer Diante Garrett who has nba experience under his belt already. Garrett was tipped to be the 3rd string pg behind Burke and John Lucas but the 6.4 guard slowed down Russell Westbrook and chipped in 4 points 4 assists 2 rebounds and 2 steals in 14 minutes of action.

Lucas has now being made inactive along with Ian Clark after the pair had a lackluster start to the year off the bench coach Ty Corbin has activated rookie center Rudy Gobert and Mike Harris to add size to the front court which was stuck at times during the game due to foul trouble.

Step Curry and Andrew Bynum headline the early list of players to miss time due to injury, The Warriors star guard has a lower back strain while Bynum has a strained oblique.

Theses 3 players could not be stopped, no matter how good your defence was you may stop there first shot but Miles Plumlee and Okafor combined for 26 rebounds total crashing the off glass for easy put backs after it was clear that the Jazz need some inside help once the big man goes to cover the driving guards.

Bledsoe took off to a triple double his first of the season and first as a member of the Suns, 38 points 10 rebounds 11 assists to go along with a couple of steals in 43 minutes of play. His running mate in the backcourt Goran Dragic scored 29 while dishing 8 and Gerald Green hit 5 three's on his way to 27 points of his own in such a high scoring game.

Trey Burke did not have a good night against the solid defence of Bled forcing the rookie into a 4-20 shooting night and once again 4 TO's however Burke did finish with 16/5/9 there is much room for improvement, The Jazz player of the game had to be Favors who got to the line at win attempting 13 at the stripe. He had a double double of 18 & 12 but the game wouldnt of even being close if it wasnt for Alec Burks who nailed 4 3's in the 4th to force OT, he lead the Jazz with 23 points.

Brook Lopez joins the walking wounded of the league separating his shoulder in the Nets defeat to the Cavs, the injury occurred late in the 4th quarter Brook had 14 & 5 at that point. the Nets lost 112-100.

Jazz Announce The Signing Of Royce White.

The Utah Jazz have rolled the Royce white dice signing the troubled forward to a 1 year deal.

"We know Royce has his issues with flying and we are going to try and work together on a plan of action, White has offered to drive to away games which may be possible to some capacity for away games close by. We believe that Royce can work passed his issues and we believe in his talents which is what we need on this roster moving forward"

The Utah Jazz make room for Royce white by waiving forward Mike Harris.

Harris appeared in just 1 game playing 9 minutes averaging 3ppg 2rpg.

Way to start the season with a win over the Thunder, though it'll be a long season, most likely a top 5 pick in the summer. But should be fun, Burke 7-31 in 2 games, needs to pick it up and maybe get that ROY award.

Yeah Burke has struggled with his shot so far but has being doing other things well, he just tailed off an ok shooting game vs Houston but all in all it needs to improve!

Keys to the Game -

Despite Trey Burke shooting the ball over 50% for the game for the first time this season Utah had no answer for the inside powerhouses of Asik or Dwight Howard as the Jazz were out rebounded on the offensive glass 14-5 and overall 50- 39 which came up big down the stretch for the Rockets.

Gordon Hayward was frustrated with his performance shooting just 3-15 from the field and committing 4 turnovers, he finished with just 6 points in the loss, fellow Jazz member Mavin Williams had gotten off to a quick start this season with 2 double doubles in the first 2 games was averaging 12 & 10 was held out of the key in this one with just 5 points and 3 rebounds.

The backcourt of Alec Burks and Trey Burke were on fire in the 1st half and were the only real bright spot for the jazz in the defeat hitting 5 3's between them and slashing to the basket at will.

Chandler Parsons was the man on the spot with the perfect game of not missing a shot ! he cleaned the glass with 9 to go along with 17 points, Jeremy Lin saw limited action playing behind Brooks and Beverley he managed just 4 points and 3 assists in 11 minutes he did however turn the ball over 3 times too.

The nba announced its first two players of the week, John Wall of the Wizards took home the award for the East while Eric Bledsoe went away with West honors.

Injury Bug -

Ricky Rubio and Tony Parker have being added to the list as 2 of the leagues top point guards have now being sidelined, Rubio will miss the most time (8 weeks) with a torn hand ligament but Tony should be back in just a week or two.

Despite the loss to the Nets the partnership of Favors and Burke is really coming along nicely scoring a combined 44 points the pair had the pick and role going, now we just need Gordon Hayward to start hitting his shots!

The game was really in Joe Johnson's hands as he used his size and strength to get to the basket 2nd half with Favors in foul trouble the lane was open, KG got his with 16 & 10 but the hustle points go to Reggie Evans with 12 rebounds in just 16 minutes...

The Mavs have resigned Dirk Nowitzki for 1 more season worth 8 million, while Shawn Marion returned to practice with Dallas he has being rumored to tell teammates that he intends to test free agency.

The Bulls have added to there backcourt with the signed of guard Shannon Brown who last played with the Suns, its a 1 year deal worth 2.9 million.

Keys to the game -

This game was pretty evenly matched to start but its clear that the Nuggets had the advantage at power forward with Faried outplaying Marvin Williams at every corner crashing the offensive glass on his way to 17 points and 15 rebounds while the rest of the Denver team passed the ball well making the Utah defence chase the ball around.
It was a pretty even scoring wise 6 Nugget players scoring in double figures, Nate Robinson scored all 12 of his points in the 4th to blow the lead upto 10 and out of reach of the Jazz.

Utah with struggling with injuries to Favors and Trey Burke who despite being banged up played the game but foul trouble late to the pair plus Gordon Haywood the Jazz's leading scorer ment that Utah were forced to turn to the bench for points but mainly all they got was turnovers.
Garrett and Royce White hooked up a few times, White finished with 7 points 4 rebounds in 11 minutes and Garrett had 5 assists and 3 steals but he did got 0-5 shooting and had 3 TO's.

The Jazz play the Pelicans at home next game and have a day off before so hopefully there stars are rested.

Injuries are clearly a problem for the Utah Jazz as is defence... as is turnovers ... as is scoring!

Ty Corbin was fuming at the teams leading scorer (Hayward) who again for the 2nd straight game was in such bad foul trouble early on that he was limited to just 21 minutes on court and scoring 9 point when his average 17.6ppg was missing when the Jazz needed him most. Favors & rookie Trey Burke both are suffering with knee problems and playing through pain to poor results they are being forced into scoring while Gordon sits.

Mavin Williams and Alec Burks have also cooled off after quick starts to the season so the Jazz have to find points from somewhere now as they face the Spurs tomorrow night in Utah which as always will be a tough game.

Jeremy Evans the Jazz's high flyer came down hard and twisted his ankle in the first half, he did not return and we are told he will not play vs the Spurs as he is listed as day to day. Andris Biedrins has being activated and is expected to see his first action of the season.

The Pelicans remain unbeaten this season at 9-0 now lead by Anthony Davis and Jrue Holidays high powered offence.

The Knicks will be without Carmelo Anthony for upto 2 weeks due to a sprained wrist.

When the Jazz saw that Tony Parker would be out due to injury there eyes lite up and they gave it there all making this a close and entertaining to watch, however Parkers replacement Cory Joseph had Trey Burke in his pocket on defence forcing the rookie into another poor shooting night (2-12) for just 7 points while Cory played a career high 37 minutes and put up 11 points 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Player of the game Manu Ginobili was on fire from downtown scoring a game high 35 points, he was imposable to guard all over the court scoring 13 in the 4th alone.

The Jazz did get some good news that center Derrick Favors has being cleared to play more minutes following knee tendinitis, Favors has being limited but has still being putting up good numbers but hopes to do more now, he poured in 16 points and 12 rebounds vs the Spurs while Gordon Hayward lead the Jazz with 23/4/4.
