Draft Profile

Long Story Short: One of the most versatile and talented young players in this years draft class. Has good size for the shooting guard position, and an average wingspan, but at times acts as a de facto point guard when Machado was on the bench thanks to his ball-handling skills and good court vision. Extremely smooth player who can get up around the basket using his quick first step and surprising athleticism, though in order to compete in the next level he will need to add weight to his wiry frame. A Jack of all trades at the shooting guard position good in many areas but not great in any one area. Has supreme confidence which is just as much a detriment as it is a plus, he will at times shoot his team out of games if he is slumping.

Quincy Black story continued...

Image

Elite 8 west region game Iona vs. Louisville at US Airway Center, Phoenix AZ ... 0:08 left in the second half Louisville 72, Iona 71

Quincy looked up at the shot clock... 6 seconds... 6 and this game is over... 6 seconds away from final four. This was easy, Quincy had done this before, he was an assassin. Just a few rounds ago he had hit a walk off against Marquette and he can do it again. Quincy looked back down at Chane Behanan who back peddled as Quincy slowly and confidently dribbled up to the 3 point line. 4 seconds... Quincy stuttered his steps and gave Behanan a quick hesitation which he bit on, now was the time. Quincy rose up with the same elevation and mechanics he had been accustomed to his entire career, picture perfect form. He released and watched the ball sail to the rim in rotation. The buzzer sound as the red lights turned on followed by the loud clank of the back rim... The ball hit back rim and ricochet off... Quincy stared at the rim as all the Louisville players immediately jumped up in joy in celebration of their victory. Quincy hung his head and sat on the floor at the 3 point line, his season was over... in one shot.

Quincy's sophomore season came to an end and now it was time to make a decision he had put off in the back of his mind, whether or not to enter the NBA draft. Quincy has had a great two years at Iona university and his play had garnered him some good amount of attention especially during this years tournament leading Iona to a elite 8. The problem was scouts had questions about the level of competition he played against at Iona. Sure he put up big numbers but they were against MAAC opponents and Iona is no powerhouse school. When the New York native chose to enroll in Iona over several big name schools such as Syracuse, St. John's, Uconn the scouts were confused to say the least. But he's made his time here at Iona successful, quickly becoming the go to guy his freshman year though having a up and down year shooting the ball and working off-ball. His sophomore year was a huge coming out for the versatile guard. He finished fourth in the NCAA in scoring and first in the MAAC while also showing a impressive polish in other categories. But was this enough to prove he was a lottery pick or would teams continue to shy away from the small school talent.

Quincy didn't care he felt his game had reached the highest it could at this level and wanted to test the next. He was dissapointed like any other player that he couldn't will his team to NCAA championship but he proved himself plenty during his tournament run. So Quincy hired himself an agent and declared himself eligible for the NBA draft. Now he only had to do was ready himself for the combine...

Not sure if I have any readers but I'm considering scrapping this story and creating player with a little of an underdog story. Or at least a player with more weaknesses.

Bro...This is the greates my player story ever and it hasn't even started... The presentation is on point and the writing is top notch...I feel like a player with more weaknesses would end up being an underdog so that's an idea :applaud: :applaud: :cheeky:
