TRADES
2012, OCTOBER 31.
Blazers got:
Grizzlies got:
and '14 2nd round pick.
As the new Blazers GM Kevin Carter before the season said, this season will be reforms season. And looks like that's true. Blazers just reported that Nicholas Batum, Wesley Matthews and '14 2nd round pick have been traded for 6' 8" small-forward Rudy Gay. Blazers are willing that this trade will pay off very soon.
2012, OCTOBER 31.
Blazers got:
Hornets got:
Looks like firing Neil Oshley was a good decision. Blazers GM reported, that 6' 2" point-guard Nolan Smith was traded for 7' 0" center Robin Lopez. Reasons, as Blazers GM Kevin Carter said were simple: Nolan was showing bad results in preseason games, and also team had only one center, M. Leonard.
2012, NOVEMBER 1.
Blazers got:
Knicks got:
and '13 1st round pick.
Three days - three trades?! What else will happen? Blazers just reported, that Will Barton, '13 1st round pick were traded for 6' 6" shooting-guard J.R. Smith. . As they said, J.R. Smith still has some potential, and probably will be starting shooting-guard. They also said that J.R. Smith is happy, because he didn't like his role in NYK.
2012, NOVEMBER 2.
Blazers got:
Wizards got:
and '14 1st round pick.
Portland Trail Blazers GM, Kevin Carter just reported that E. Williams and '14 1st round pick were traded for 6' 4" shooting-guard Jordan Crawford. He said probably it will be the last trade this season, but who knows. He said Jordan accepted to be the Sixth man, as he doesn't want to mess up team chemistry. Hopefully it won't be the last trade as the GM said.
2012, NOVEMBER 4.
Blazers got:

Wizards got:
After playing only 3 games, main 6' 9" power-forward J. J. Hickson has been traded for 6' 9"power-forward Kevin Seraphin and 6' 1" point-guard Jannero Pargo. Reason, as Blazers said is that Hickson was showing bad results, and doesn't seem to have much potential. And also, Kevin Seraphin contract isn't so big as Hickson's is, he's got more potential. Lets hope they will get into the team quickly.

Staff changes
2012, NOVEMBER 1.
In adition of J. R. Smith, Blazers also have fired entire staff! Looks like they are really rebuilding the team. General Manager, Kevin Carter, said that he was dealing over a month with the new staff, and finally, contracts signed. Only prospect scout, Bobby Mason, and trainer Jay Jensen haven't been fired. But Carter said that probably they will get fired too. As he said, current staff has very much potential and staff dismissal going to pay off soon.
New head Coach - Malcolm Jetter (3yr/$3.80m)
New assistant Coach - Mo Alridge (3yr/$900k)
New NBA Scout - Clifton Reynolds (3yr/$100k)
New Prospect Scouts - Michael Barrett (3yr/$100k), Jeffrey Pierce (3yr/$100k).

Man some big shake ups! Not sure the Gay trade was worth it for you. Nic Batum is a very well rounded player.
Mon Jan 28, 2013 6:32 am
Nope, it was worth. Batum is 79ov, has B- potential, and Rudy is 86 ov, has A- potential. Except that Batum is 23 years old and Rudy is 26.

Los Angeles Lakers [20 | 21 | 20 | 29] 90
Portland Trail Blazers [22 | 21 | 19 | 19] 81
Rudy Gay's explode and Lillard's double-double didn't helped Blazers to win the game. From the beginning, till the 4th quarter the game was very intruiging. There were many lead changes, ties. But then, Kobe woke up. He scored 10 of his 23 points in 4th quarter and led Lakers to the win. After the game, Alridge took the blame on his self: „I apologize for my bad passes and missed shots. We didn't wanted to start the season like that“ - he said, and left the press conference.
Blazers: Rudy Gay 43 (10/15 3PT, 5 rebounds), Damian Lillard 13 (0/6 3PT, 11 assists, 2TO), LaMarcus Alridge 10 (5/10FG, 5 rebounds)
Lakers: Kobe Bryant 23 (4 assists, 5 rebounds), Dwight Howard 16 (8 rebounds, 4 assists), Steve Nash 14 (6 assists, 3 rebounds)
Player of the Game: Kobe Bryant (23-4-5)

BaubaS, Yeah I realize that Gay is rated higher, I just find Batum has more of an all round game. Plus as you pointed out he is younger and cheaper. Looks like Gay is working out for you anyway

I would have made those trades too. It's me, but I never liked Batum either.

Batum is 23 years and he has B- potential, so at age 26-27 his overall will start going down, what means his defense and other things will be worse. And as Rudy has A- potential at age of 26, he should play on highest level for 5-6 years

2012, NOVEMBER 1.
Oklahoma City Thunder [24 | 24 | 18 | 20] 78
Portland Trail Blazers [23 | 13 | 19 | 23] 86
Even Thunder missed all 10 three pointers, they won the game by 8 points. They won the game after 2nd quarter, when they win the quarter by 9 points, and two following quarters they were playing point to play. Main reason for this loss was bad defense in the paint. Number says everything - Thunder had 15 offensive rebounds after the game, when Blazers had only 3. And most of the points were scored from mid range/inside the paint. As Blazers head Coach, M. Jeter said - OKC were better this game, and that's all. As this was second loss in a row for Blazers, they are willing to win against the Rockets, by „fixing the mistakes“. Lets hope sure they will do.
Blazers: Rudy Gay 28 (6/15 3PT, 8 rebounds), J. R. Smith 16 (4/6 3PT, 3 rebounds), LaMarcus Alridge 13 (6/11FG, 5 rebounds)
Thunder: Kevin Durant 24 (6 rebounds), Kevin Martin 18 (7 rebounds, 3 assists), S. Ibaka 8 (11 rebounds)
Player of the Game: Kevin Martin (18-7-3)

Tough loss (I think you have the score around the wrong way). Always hard when you give up so many offensive rebounds, I am the same, really struggle with boxing out in 2k13.

Yeah, it's a problem. For the loss, main reason is giving too much offensive rebounds [Dunno, but looks too funny when PG/SG rebounds over 7'0" center], which was converted to easily second change points. And I was messing too much with shots from 3pt, mid. But getting better and better, just won a game against the Rockets, recap tommorow. Also made a trade [see more at trade section]. Updated the thread a bit [added goals, signs, releases section], going to add around the league tommorow.
