Warriors-93, Jazz-56
Jazz didn't have a chance

Image
Foyle and the Warriors are 3-2.

Oakland, CA-Another blow-out for the Golden State Warriors. They dominated another bottom feeding team in front of the city of Oakland. Clifford Robinson went off in the game posting 28 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks earning him the player of the game.

The Utah Jazz were never in the game. They never had a chance from the opening tip to the final buzzer. They made some nice runs but they never got within single digits and the Golden State Warriors left with another win improving their record to 3-2.

Cliff was very emotional and got in acouple of heated conversations with Jerry Sloan and Raja Bell.

“I was playing with fire man. I wanted to let them know we dominated them and they haven’t won a game. It was all fun and games.” Cliff said in the locker room to reporters.

The Warriors had the crowd going all night long and it was something to see. Excitement back in Oakland! They are following their Warriors now as they over .500. This is an exciting time and the energy and passion this team is showing is making it all worth while.

The Jazz are now 0-5 and showing no life at all. This might be Jerry Sloan’s last year and it’s only the first 5 games. Who knows how the rest of the year will turn out?

Musselman's Coach's Corner:
"We played great out there. Great team baseketball. We moved the ball around, not a lot of one-on-one and our defense was awesome. Holding any NBA team to 56 points is huge and I credit my guys. They played hard and great. They deserved this win."

What a blow out! I've never ever been able to have that much space between the Lakers and the opponent on Superstar level... so kudos to you.

Yeah I know it's weird. The last two games have been lousy. Hawks and Jazz have absoutely no firepower so when I get up big early I never really struggle to keep the lead. They always make a run in the 4th though.

Key Matchup: Marion vs. Dunleavy
Dunleavy will have another challenge on defense as he goes into battle vs. Shawn Marion. Marion is a tricky offensive player to guard but Dunleavy's defensive skills are up to the challenge. Marion is one expolsive offensive player and locking him up could determine the outcome.

Warriors-87, Suns-99
Marion too much for Warriors

Image
Marion lead his team to a 99-87 victory.

Oakland, CA-Another game of catch-up ends in a dissapointing loss for the Warriors. They lead early in the first by 4 but they lost the lead half way through the quarter, they never lead again.

The plan of putting Dunleavy on Marion didn’t work as planned. Marion went out for 32 points and Dunleavy was often sitting on the bench due to foul trouble. Calbert Cheaney couldn’t guard Marion. Brian Cardinal couldn’t guard Marion. Then the Warriors tried Jason Richardson, that didn’t work either.

The Suns shot the ball really well and the Warriors shot the ball average. The Suns were simply on the fire and the Warriors couldn’t stop them.

“They were hot, man. On fire.” Nick Van Exel said after the game. Hot and on fire is right. Shooting 58% from the field is pretty darn good.

The Warriors tried to come back late in the 4th but none of their shots were falling. They shot a lousy 36% in the final quarter ending all chances of a comeback. They were missing easy, chip shots. When you can’t get the easy ones to fall you know youre in trouble. And the Warrios new they were in trouble.

The player of the game was Shawn Marion. He posted 32 points and 5 rebounds in the Suns victory.

The Warriors were looking to 4-2 and roll on through the month. That isn’t the key and inconsistent shooting is their main problem. Although, they can nail the three better than most teams. They shot 36% from down town tonight (7/19). That numer is a little bit shady since they through up a lot of threes at the end of the game.

The Warriors will go back to the drawing board and draw up something new and hope they can bounce back. Being 3-3 isn’t bad but being 3-4 isn’t ideal.

“Our goal is to be above .500 everyday.” Coach Musselman said. Let’s keep that goal in mind.

Team Stats:
Bench: Suns-13/Warriors-26
FG%: Suns-58%/Warriors-44%
Rebounds: Suns-37/Warriors-37
Free Throws: Suns-11/13/Warriors-10/14

Turnovers: Suns-16/Warriors-11

Key Warrior Player Stats:
Jason Richardson: 25 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists
Nick Van Exel: 17 points, 5 assists
Troy Murphy: 13 points, 5 rebounds
Erick Dampier: 4 points, 9 rebounds

Key Sun Player Stats:
Shawn Marion: See Article
L. Barbosa: 21 points(10/11 FG), 9 assists
Keon Clark: 10 points, 10 rebounds
Joe Johnson: 13 points

Musselman's Coach's Corner:
"We didn't play consistent tonight. Our energy level was up and down all game. I don't think we played bad, it's just we didn't play good for 48 minutes. We will talk about this tomorrow at practice."

Clutch Performer
Antonio McDyess had 3 blocks in the game, all in the final 3 minutes where he rejected a potential of 6 points. If he wouldn't have it would have been a 12 point swing and we might be talking about a different outcome.

Warrior Trade Rumors

ImageforImage?

Oakland, CA-There is a trade rumor floating around the Golden State Warriors are agressively persusing Wizards combo guard Larry Hughes. Hughes a fromer Warrior is a prolific scorer and can open the floor for whatever team he plays on.
Who the Warriors would give up is tossed around. Nick Van Exel is the most likely canidate to leave Oakland if a trade is in order. Straight up would most likely not happen so fillers would be added. Nobody is certain if a trade is even being worked out by the two teams yet but they have expressed interest in the players.
“Yeah, we’ve had disscussions. Not even close to negoiations though.” GM Rod Higgins said. So if that is true, negoiations haven’t started…are they ever?
“They might. I’m not going to say a trade won’t happen but right now a trade isn’t being worked out.”
No matter what the Warriors do they would need a point guard. Hughes at point guard maybe a short time plan but having him be a point guard later in the season and hopefully deep into the playoffs wouldn’t work. First step though is getting Hughes, if they want him. Then on to second step.
Others have said the Warriors are trying to get Theo Ratliff from the Blazers. Although GM Higgins wouldn’t comment on that it seems like that is a long shot.

Pistons-111, Warriors-86
Team blown out, Musselman ferious

Image
Ben Wallace and the Pistons ran over the Warriors.

Oakland, CA-For once this season the Golden State Warriors were embrassed. They showed absoutley no effort on offense nor defense. Letting the Detroit Pistons score 111 on you, especially without Chauncey Billups, is just plain horrible. The Warriors should be ashamed, and trust me they are.

Eric Musselman was completely outraged at his team’s performance. Numerous times during the game he would sit down and scream as he was so frustrated. He knocked the chalk down onto the court in frustration. He got a technical foul and later he almost got ejected.

“Yes I was extremely pissed off at my team. They showed NO EFFORT. Did I just see the Pistons score 111 on us? WITHOUT CHAUNCEY BILLUPS?!?! This is just, this sucks. Our team sucked tonight.” Eric Musselman said in the locker room, in clear view and range of his players.

The team was never even close. Although, they lead the first quarter by 3 everything went down hill from there.

“I don’t know, it was just weird. We just stopped trying. It was really frustrating trying to finish the game.” Speedy Claxton said.

It was extremely frustrating watching the game. Fans in The Arena were upset with the team’s performance as the team got booed of it’s homecourt. It was a horrible performance and the Warriors know it.

“Yeah, I booed myself off the court man…” Cliff Robinson said in a more light tone. The players were more relaxed about this beating compared to Coach Musselman who was ferious with his team. He left without even speaking to them directly. After interview’s he left for home leaving his player’s wondering.

“This game sucked. It really did.” Jason Richardson said. Yes, Jason. It really did suck.

The player of the game was Rasheed Wallace. He posted 26 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks in the giant victory for the Pistons.

That's not true, I like it a lot, I just don't post that often :) . I particularly liked your rumors on the 2 trades. I say keep playing for a little bit but if you keep losing then pull the trigger on one of the 2. They are very different though...where do you lack more, in the paint or outside game?
How is dunleavy doing? Can you post some avg for you players?

(Y) cool, your stats are quite realistic. Do you simulate most of the games or you play them? Caz I play with 10 minutes quarter and League leaders in scoring are much lower....

In the ingame settings, you set the quarters to the length YOU want to play.. there is another option somewhere called SIM quarter length... you leave that at 12, and all SIMULATED games are done as if there were 12 minute quarters.

It's a tough thing and I hope you can still to playing every game. What I do to keep things interesting is know who I'm playing next and see what types of patches I can download related to that game. (please it gives more appealing screen shots)

I'm pretty much on the 2008 season right now and find more joy in the management aspect than the playing aspect...but of course, I have to get those 20,000 plays that you can choose from and commit them to memory just for the heck of it!

I do think you have a nice 'feel' and style in your dynasty. Just think of your Dynasty as a log of your games for yourself more so than a place for a discussion board and you'll be happier. I don't get many posts on my Dynasty but I continue doing it because I love seeing my little rookies develop. I just wish you have some screen shots.

Your dynasty is amazing ... Your team is struggling in the beginning but don't worry, you have a whole season ahead of you. Teamwork is the key and until your players realise that, you won't have the success that you desire for your team.

Nevertheless, this is a great thread and a great read. And please try to make the playoffs with the core group you have and don't make any trades that are impossible in real life. It will make this thread even more interesting if keep the team you have.

If you're getting bored, I recommend doing what HonorGlow suggested and that is to install new patches into the game so that it makes it interesting to play. Otherwise, if that is too much work for you, then you can just simulate the season and play in the playoffs (granted that you make the playoffs). If not, you can draft a good rookie in the upcoming draft and maybe you can import the "real" rookies into your draft and use someone like a Luol Deng or a Shaun Livingston for your team.

Just my two cents.

Clippers win but Warriors play with heart

Oakland,CA-The game was looking to be lost when the Warriors were down by double figures early in the 2nd quarter. But they turned things around and kept on trucking. Although, they didn’t come out of the game with the win they played hard and they tried their hardest to win.

Marko Jaric won player of the game with his 11 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists performance. The Clippers played hard and it was an entertaining game. The Warriors battled back and it was close to the end.

The Clippers were able to pull out the game and finish with the 82-73 victory on the road.

Atleast the Warriors played with heart and desire rather than laying down and giving up. Jason Richardon played hard with this 22 point game performance. They were diving on the ground for lose balls and everything. It was uplifting to see this team care so much for an early victory this early in the season.
