Raps shake up starting lineup after home opening loss
TORONTO (AP) -- The Raptors will move Linas Kleiza, Jerryd Bayless, and Samuel Dalembert to the bench, bringing Hasheem Thabeet, J.J. Barea, and Nick Young into the starting lineup. This lineup (Iguodala, Young, Barea, Thabeet, Bargnani) rode out the end of the first game and fit well together. Coach Dwane Casey had this to say to the press: "In this compressed 14 game season we can't wait a lot of time to let the lineups work themselves out. Nick went off in limited minutes, and he did so in training camp also, and we thought these lineup moves would really benefit the team going forward." Kleiza will reportedly fall out of the rotation completely, as Casey only wants a nine-man rotation max going forward. Minutes were too sparse.

TORONTO (AP) -- Three players not getting the minutes that expected, and not being afraid to express it, were sent packing from the Raptors organization. Gary Forbes, having the smallest contract of the three, was placed on waivers, while Ed Davis and Linas Kleiza were traded to the Atlanta Hawks for prospect Brent Chambers, Zaza Pachulia, and their 2014 2nd round draft pick. Pachulia can be used sparingly as a third-string center, and has only this year left on his contract, while Chambers (a bit of a project rated a 53 overall) was a second round draft pick by the Hawks, who can play both small forward and shooting guard, standing at 6'7".
