6 Game Recap
The Dallas Mavericks have fallen to 3-3 after a solid start to their NBA season. The Mavericks made some big moves over the course of the off season, which will be properly highlighted at the end of this article. The Mavericks started their season at American Airlines Center with a solid win over the Charlotte Bobcats. The game was forced to double OT, and on the back of a massive 85 point game from Daniel Gibson, the Mavericks finally overcame the Bobcats 163-161 (In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have taken 60 shots with Gibson, and the 12 min playing quarters I used at the start of the season probably didn't help my case). The Mavericks then faced off against the Memphis Grizzlies, who sported a very solid team. However, a solid 2nd quarter helped push the Mavericks over the line. 23 points, 12 assists and 3 blocks from Beaubois helped secure the win over such a solid team. Josh Smith, who joined the Mavs after a deal that involved big Dirk was struck, also had a solid game with 14 points and 10 assists. The Mavs were then on the road, heading to Hollywood to take on the Clippers. The Mavs had nothing going for them for the 1st quarter, but struck back in the 2nd. However, a massive 3rd and 4th quarter from the Clippers lead them to a solid 103-89 victory. Beaubois had 33 points and 3 steals, but he was the only highlight player for the Mavs. Billups was solid from behind the arc, shooting 50% in a 3/6 game. He ended up with 23 points and 2 steals. CP3 also had a solid game for the Clips, finishing with 14 points and 11 assists. The Mavericks then traveled to Denver for what would seem to be an easy game, however, that perspective turned very quickly. The game was forced to OT, but the Nuggets ended up taking the game very late, 117-113. Beaubois scored 39 points and had 7 assists, while Gibson had 16 points and 8 assists. Ty Lawson had a very big game, contributing 31 points, 15 assists and 4 steals for the Nuggets. The Mavs then hosted the Nuggets at home, and were keen on gaining retribution after a terrible OT loss to the nuggets. However, it was simply not their day, losing another OT game 114-107. A good 4th quarter comeback and shooting efficiency in OT really let down the Mavericks. Beaubois had 38 points, 6 assists, 5 steals and 6 blocks, but unfortunately could not carry the team. Gallinari and Lawson scored 58 together, 29 a piece. Lawson finished with 10 assists as well. In the final game of this recap, the Mavs hosted the Celtics at home. In what looked to be a lost game before it even started, the game actually turned out to be quite the surprise. The Mavs started off well, outscoring the Celtics 22-17 in the 1st quarter. However, consistency let the Mavs down, losing by 4 at the half. The Mavs came out firing, giving themselves a 1 point lead at the end of the 3rd, and finally came through with a solid 4th quarter to win the game, 107-99.

Dallas go above .500 with a win over Memphis
It was a solid night from Beaubois and Co., downing the Grizzlies 105-98. Beaubois once again led the scoring, going 12-19 and getting 36 points. Gibson was not very far behind, with 30 points. Marvin Williams and Haywood had 8 and 5 rebounds respectively, and Beaubois led the way in assists with 8. Haywood and Beaubois also had 3 blocks a piece. The downside of the night, however, was Beaubois' 6 turnovers. Turnovers have been a worry for Beaubois throughout the season, with 24 in 7 games. On the other side of the ball, Michael Conley had 24 points, while Marc Gasol and Rudy Gay both had 18 points each. 4 players on the Grizzlies had 4 boards each, and Conley led the way for the Grizzlies with 8 assists. We questioned Beaubois after the game about what he though of the outcome, he said "Well, a wins a win, but being 2-0 against a division team is always a great thing. I think I need to work on my ball handling and as a team, our rebounding isn't up to scratch." The Mavericks, even though having 2 big rebounders in their team, are currently last in the leaderboard, with only 30 rebounds per game. The Mavericks face off against the 76ers at home, definitely a primetime game as John Terry comes back to his old team. The Mavericks are currently 3rd in their division, and 6th in the conference.

Dallas extend winning streak after some French dominance in Philly
2nd year player Rodrique Beaubois had no worries on Friday night, with a career high 44 point game against the Philadelphia 76ers. He lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 106-103 win over the Sixers, after a huge first quarter that was the only reason they were still contending the match. The Sixers came out on all cylinders, scoring 31 points in the 1st quarter. 17 points by the eventual 'Player of the Game' recipient kept the Mavericks intact, after some dominant offense by the home side. A solid 2nd quarter from Jason Kidd in shutting down the Sixers offense meant that the Sixers didn't extend their lead, and the Mavs only down by 3 at half time. The Mavs slightly drew the lead back towards themselves, closing the gap to only 2 points by the end of the 3rd. However, a big run by the Sixers at the start of the 4th really put the Mavs down, and the game looked like a lost cause with 5 minutes to go. However, 1 man decided that the game could still be theirs, and that man was Rodrique Beaubois. A dominant last half of the 4th quarter put the Mavs ahead by a few points with only minutes left. The Sixers fought back to draw the scores level with 40 seconds left, but a beautiful screen and an open look by Beaubois put the Mavs up by 3 with 20 seconds left. The Sixers took one last shot to take the game to OT, but a big block by Daniel Gibson quickly dashed any hopes of that happening, the Mavericks holding on to a 3 point lead to take the game. Up next is the New Orleans Hornets in Dallas, once again.
