Portland Trailblazers 11-12 Association: Rip City Redemption

Trailblazers, Jailblazers, whatever you want to call these guys, arguably the most enigmatic team in the NBA is back again after last year's first round exit in the Playoffs. They've always been loaded with talent, where it was the era with Clyde Drexler or Rasheed Wallace. But they enter this new era with All-Star snub, LaMarcus Aldridge. Aldridge, a talented top power forward has a solid supporting cast in Gerald Wallace, Raymond Felton, Nicolas Batum and others. Portland still feels the pain of Brandon Roy retiring, but can use that as motivation this season. Can they turn things around, and lose their title as the most injury depleted team in the NBA? Will this extremely talented and filled with youth team go to the next level. With so many questions, there's only one place to find the answers....

Platform: XBOX 360

Seriously, a healthy starting five of Oden, Aldridge,Wallace, Roy, and Felton has to be a top 5 lineup in the league (again, when healthy), and they've got a top 5 bench as well with Matthews, Batum, Camby, Nolan Smith, and others. (Y)

Haha, thanks everyone for the replies, just thought I'd tell a few things before I post the first game. I'll be doing this on NBA 2K12, with the minutes on 12, playing on Superstar, and the simulation sliders.

Probably sounds, boring, so I'll just put up the first game now!

Portland Trailblazers (1-0) vs. Denver Nuggets (0-1)
November 3rd, 2011 - Portland, OR

• "The Plan" by J Cole hits, as the lights of the Rose Garden rapidly begin to flash red and black, as the Portland Trailblazers make their way out for their season opener. The Portland fans have always had to be optimistic with what they had, but this season, they're hoping that goes down a notch. LaMarcus Aldridge walks to center court, admires the Blazers logo, and it's rich and puzzling history, and circles around to look at all the fans. He nods and heads back with his team, as they know, it's game time.

• It was the only time this whole game that he wasn't dominating, as he finished with 22 points and 13 points, and included a game clinching jumper that ultimately led to a thrilling 103-99 win for Portland in their home opener. Of course, things wouldn't be possible without Crawford's 18 in his Blazers debut, and Gerald Wallace scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. "It was an all-around great performance for us. I believe we're a championship team this year." - Gerald Wallace.

• There seemed to be some drama between Andre Miller and Raymond Felton, who were both exchanged by these exact teams in the summer. Miller played alot due to a low back strain from Ty Lawson in the 1st quarter. Felton had a monstrous performance, 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 13 assists. Miller had a point, but it went along with 11 points in 19 minutes. Wilson Chandler added 23 to Nene's 21 points, and Afflalo and Galinari combined for nine three pointers, and 33 points.

• This was indeed a thrilling game. Denver led 24-18 after one, then 45-40, so Portland didn't lead until midway through the 4th. Portland took an 82-72 lead, and looked to be cruising to an easy victory, before Galinari hit all four three pointers in the 4th, and they brought it to 99-99. Aldridge hit a jumper that put them up two, and Felton got a steal on the inbound, and lateraled it to Crawford, as they would win this game by four, despite a very sloppy 19 turnovers. Portland goes to Los Angeles for a Rip City vs. Lob City tomorrow, in hopes of staying undefeated.

My Thoughts... An awesome game. Denver has so much heart. We were up by ten, then eight, then six, and they almost won. One of the best games I've ever played here. Nervous about the game vs. the Clippers, but I'm hoping I can win there. If any constructive criticism will be gratefully accepted. :D

Portland Trailblazers (1-1) vs. Los Angeles Clippers (1-0)
November 4th, 2011 - Los Angeles, CA

• This is one of the more anticipated games of the early frame of the season. It features a star-studded power forward matchup, as borderline All-Star, LaMarcus Aldridge leads the Blazers into war against Blake Griffin and the rebuilt Clippers here tonight on ESPN.

• Forget about LaMarcus Aldridge vs. Blake Griffin! This game was all about Caron Butler vs. Gerald Wallace, as the two underrated small forwards stole the show here tonight, but Caron Butler did a bit more, as the Clippers escaped Portland after a 10-2 run to end the game to win, 99-90. Butler led all scorers with 30 points, and Griffin and Paul each scored 17 points to add to a great come from the unexpected. "Coach just told me they'd be all over Chris (Paul) and Blake (Griffin) so he wanted to really get the supporting cast involved.

• Portland actually made an awesome comeback after being down 35-19 after one, 56-40 after two, and then 78-69 after three. Portland's high scorer was Wallace, with 28 points and 8 rebounds, and Aldridge followed with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Portland broke the lead open to begin the 4th, getting the score at 78 apiece. They went back and forth for a few possessions, before the Clippers broke away in the final stages of the game. "We broke down in the end," Wesley Matthews said. "That's all there is to it."

• This is the first game of a three-game home skid for the Blazers, as they head to Phoenix, and then to Denver, whom they defeated in their home opener. Then, they get ready for four at home.

Key Performers
Gerald Wallace: 28 points, 8 rebounds.
LaMarcus Aldridge: 19 points, 7 rebounds.
Wesley Matthews: 15 points (5-of-7 3PT), 5 assists.

Shame to lose the game down the stretch like that (N) Butler killed you. Nice to see Matthews contributing.

Portland Trailblazers (2-1) vs. Phoenix Suns (0-2)
November 6th, 2011 - Phoenix, AZ

• LaMarcus Aldridge told his team to snap out of it after they were down 52-39 at the half against the Suns, and then he went out and did it on his own. Minute-by-minute, that lead just kept on shrinking, as Aldridge poured in 22 of his 31 in the 2nd half, as the Blazers ultimately picked up a road win, and beat the Suns, 103-84. "He just couldn't be stopped out there. He was on a mission," Gerald Wallace said. "It was awesome to see."

• Seeing indeed. He accounted for their first 14 points of the third quarter, two coming off of assists. Despite his monster night, we still seen solid games from Raymond Felton, who had a near double-double, 18 points and 8 assists, and Greg Oden, who scored 9 points and had 13 rebounds, six of them on the offensive end. "They seemed to play their defense towards the front post with me and LaMarcus (Aldridge), so I wanted to capitalize and get the team some second-chances."

• We also got a little bit of a scare, as Steve Nash went down with a Severe Ankle Sprain, and that's where Phoenix downfall began. When he left, Portland came all the way back, and eventually won the game. He's going to be out for 1-2 weeks. Portland continues their road trip, as they meet Denver in three days, and then prepare for a big home skid, in hope of moving to a great record in the early stage of the season.

• Key Performers
LaMarcus Aldridge: 31 points, 8 rebounds.
• Raymond Felton: 18 points, 8 assists.
• Greg Oden 9 points, 13 rebounds, 4 blocks.
