A Few Games + Howard is TRADED

Dwight goes for a double-double but Memphis stays up top

ImageImage

Coming from a close one against the Knicks, the Magic were pretty excited for this one. But the last years surprise team, Memphis Grizzlies, are no easy picking, with O.J Maye, Rudy Gay, Michael Conley and Zack Randolph. Turned out, that they came to play.

Right from the start, the thing was neck-and-neck. Dwight had some pretty good plays with his team, but he was still holding them in the game. It kinda felt that it was like the Knicks game, only that the roles had switched.

And with that, Dwights team fell short and took their second loss of the season, 74-69

*Box Scores*
Memphis
R.Gay 21 PTS 6 REB 3 AST
O.J.Mayo 19 PTS 2 REB 3 AST
M.Gasol 13 PTS 7 REB 1 BLK
Orlando
D.Howard 25 PTS 10 REB 3 BLK
A.Parker 16 PTS 1 REB 3 STL
K-Walker 12 PTS 2 REB 1 AST

Kemba and Dwight make easy use of the Nuggets

ImageImage

After a close loss, Orlando went away to visit the Nuggets. Being in a slump, this was "a walk in the park" for the Magic.

Nuggets held their own first off, as they were pretty good at the start. They had team-effort, as 4 players finished with double-digit points. But so did Magic, and sadly, Dwights inside game and Kembas outside shot was too powerful to stop.

Like guessed, Magic had a little stroll in the park, and they took a solid victory, 90-67

*Box Scores*
Denver
J.R Smith
W.Chandler
T.Lawson
Magic
D.Howard 24 PTS 8 REB 2 BLK
K.Walker 21 PTS 3 STL 3 BLK
A.Parker 14 PTS 1 REB 1 AST

The Durantula is now a Magician

ImageImage

Finally, after Dwight telling the Magic front-office that he will leave, he has been traded to Oklahoma City Thunder, for one of the greatest scorers right now, Kevin Durant

In addition, Dwight Howard will leave with Quentin Richardson, while KD and Nazr Mohammed travel to Orlando. Both of these teams have fixed their flaws, but considering that OKC lost a great scorer and a important SF, Magic also lost size in their front court.

Still, both of these teams are hoping that these trades will go for the best.

In short:

Magic get: Kevin Durant and Nazr Mohammed
Thunder get: Dwight Howard and Quentin Richardson

Durant posts a new league-high in points, but a turnover costs them the game

ImageImage

Everybody was stoke to see Kevin Durant sporting in his new number, 23, and in an Magic uniform. He showed right from the start that he is here and ready to rock, but a lack of size and a costly turnover, gave Jazz the win.

Both teams kept the game close, but the only reason it was close, was the fact, that Durant was scoring like a beast. However, Jazz had a pretty good team effort, and Jefferson too full advantage of Orlandos front court. But the game was intense to the very end, as both teams did not want to let go.

But a really costly turnover by Nazr Mohammed, cost them the game, as Miles went for an open three, to seal the game, 90-87

*Box Scores*
Utah
A.Jefferson 24 PTS 6 REB 1 AST
D.Harris 15 PTS 5 REB 3 AST
C.J Miles 11 PTS 1 STL
Orlando
K.Durant 45 PTS 8 REB 3 STL
K.Walker 17 PTS 7 AST 4 STL
T.Thomas 8 PTS 6 REB 3 AST

I will give you two credit, I am a bit disappointed how it panned out.

It seems like a good trade, Perkins is out for the season(forgot to mention that) so they fix up their Center position, while playing somebody weaker on the SF. I, on the other hand, get a scorer who I can DEPEND on every night. Yet I lose some depth in the Center spot.

Maby it was how Jefferson played that night, he was fairly good. One thing is for sure - at the offseason, guess who is looking for a new center? :D

Next game against the Suns, so we will see how that will go.

Orlando does easy work of the Suns

ImageImage

After KD dropped so much on Utah, still losing, they went for another trip as it was in Phoenix. A dangerous trio of Carter-Nash-Hill was there to wait them, but they had no problem of playing against them.

Durant started taking the ball inside, and he made points in a hurry. Kembas good shooting touch did so good for them, as his shot was great. Not to be outplayed, the regular Maggette-Thomas combo did good aswell. But the big trio from Phoenix never gave up, they were still good, doing everything they could to pull away with the victory.

But sadly, it was no use, as the show ended with a 82-64 win for Orlando.

*Box Scores*
Orlando
K.Durant 21 PTS 5 REB 2 BLK
K Walker 19 PTS 4 AST 4 STL
T.Thomas 16 PTS 4 REB 2 AST
Suns
G.Hill 19 PTS 2 REB 1 STL
V.Carter 17 PTS 4 REB 1 AST
S.Nash 12 PTS 5 REB 5 AST

Worst loss this season as Durant takes over San Antonio

ImageImage

Well, coming from a fresh victory, Orlando was really looking forward on facing last years toughest team in the West, the Spurs. But, San Antonio did lose in the first round of the playoffs, and the "too old for a title" talk might be true. It was a total blowout.

Magic started off like they are used to, scoring like hell. Spurs were pretty good against them, until the third. A shooting skill like no other was shown from Kevin Durant, Kemba Walker, Corey Maggette and Tyrus Thomas. And while Timmy and Ginobili were slumping, Parker could not do anything aswell. At the forth, they just swap their teams and gave the bench players some minutes.

And with Orlando crusing to victory, they played their game, scored their points, and finished it 98-70. The worst loss for the Spurs this season.

*Box Scores*
Orlando
K.Durant 30 PTS 5 REB 1 AST
C.Maggette 19 PTS 4 REB 3 STL
K.Walker 11 PTS 3 REB 4 AST
Spurs
M.Ginobili 20 PTS 3 REB 4 AST
T.Duncan 12 PTS 8 REB 2 STL
D.Green 8 PTS 1 REB

Durant goes wild; Kemba and Thomas injured

ImageImage

So, with two in a row victories, it was Orlandos turn to be the host, as the Nets rolled in. Lopez and Williams are right on the 9th spot in East, and every victory could change that. And this game, was a great one.

It started off with the dominating shooting of the Nets, they took a quick 12 point lead and held it. Kembas shooting did jump-start Orlando, but something bad happened. Tyrus Thomas got injured while going for a rebound, and two plays later, Kemba aswell sprained his ankle, meaning some huge dept and scoring was lost.

That meant that the Nets could take it all, but not quite. The Magic still had Kevin Durant, who went wild. He started scoring left and right and gave no defender a chance. And with a fade-away shot over Farmar, he tied the game in the forth. The crowd was going wild, screaming "MVP! MVP!". And he did not stop, he and Maggette were the ones who edged the Nets in the last minute. Durant took the lead with 12 seconds left on the clock, with a open jumper.

But then, all hell broke loose, Deron Williams blazed pass Mohammed and scored a two, to tie it up. With 4 seconds left on the clock, KD was played for a layup, but he got blocked, sending the game to over-time.

In there, is where everything happened. Durant started taking more control, scoring a huge amount of points. He scored actually EVERY point and he made a new career-high with 53 points. And with that, Magic won the game, 98-87.

*Box Scores*
Orlando
K.Durant 53 PTS 4 REB 3 AST
C.Maggette 12 PTS 2 REB 5 AST
K.Walker 7 PTS 2 REB 5 STL
Nets
D.Williams 22 PTS 11 AST 5 STL
B.Lopez 19 PTS 11 REB 2 BLK
A.Morrow 11 PTS 2 REB 3 AST

4 in a row as Orlando looks unstoppable

ImageImage

Coming back home, the Pacers were torn. Their season has gone badly, but the fact that they would face the leaders in East, Orlando Magic, did not make them feel any better. And like expected, Orlando prevailed with a great win.

The most looked-forward matchup was the Durant-Granger matchup, but safe to say, that Durant crushed Danny with some great plays. Him scoring in Grangers face was no problem, and the great game skills were shown. Only way that Danny Granger scored, was when he was guarded by somebody else or Kevin was not on the floor.

But it was still pretty interesting, as Hansbrough and Jones showed some of their scoring abilitys. Roy Hibbert also displayed some great shooting. But the way Thomas worked on the defensive side was too much, as him and Durant yet again were the best.

In the final minutes, Kemba and Gilbert started killing it, finishing the game 82-75.

*Box Scores*
Orlando
K.Durant 32 PTS 3 REB 2 AST
T.Thomas 16 PTS 8 REB 7 BLK
K.Walker 12 PTS 4 AST 2 STL
Indiana
D.Granger 17 PTS 6 REB 1 AST
T.Hansbrough 14 PTS 6 REB 2 STL
D.Jones 14 PTS 2 REB 4 AST

Not feeling the trade either... just the thought of seeing Dwight in a OKC jersey makes me sick  But KD is doing great for you!
