So it begins..

BREAKING NEWS: New GM name on the door at MSG!

It appears that the Knicks have decided against hiring Glen Grunwald to a full-time contract.

The new GM name on the door not only surprises the fans, but also the players - Thor Trovatelli
Trovatelli previously served as the manager of Bologna in Italy and played for Turin during the 1980's.

What changes will this bring to the team? Have your say on NBANOW.COM

______________________
Thor Trovatelli

Thor Trovatelli (born January 28, 1968) is currently the senior vice president for basketball operations of the New York Knicks of the NBA. He is best known as the former general manager of Bologna, a role he filled from March 2004 until October 2011.

Early Life

Born in Oslo, Norway, to a family of 4 (Father is a real estate agent, mother is a homemaker)
Trovatelli's love for basketball didn't kick in until his freshman year in high school, where he joined the local Grizzlies team.

After competing in the U-18 European Championships, he was noticed by a scout working for Italian giants Bologna, 3 weeks later he signed a 7 year deal worth at an estimate $800k over that period of time.

(Will finish this later)

Thor is walking around the halls at MSG, wondering, what will become of his so far quiet life in the Big Apple..

Before he dazes off into dreaming, he's interrupted by James Dolan who calls him into his office.

Dolan: Ah, Thor, nice to see you.
Dolan: Listen, I have a problem I need to discuss with you..
Thor's face changes from elated to worrying..
Thor: Hm?
Dolan: It's about Mike, you still haven't given me the word if you want to continue with him at the helm or not..?
Thor stares at the 1970 and 1973 titles respectively, before opening his mouth again
Thor: Keep him..
Thor stands up and starts walking towards the office door, before glancing behind him one more time
Thor: ..For now.
Dolan nods at the gesture and continues reading the Daily Post.

20 minutes later..

Thor rushes through Dolan's office door again, huffing for air..
Thor: Shit, I forgot to menti--
Dolan: What?
Thor: I want to make a move for a player.
Dolan: Who? Now? This soon?!
Thor: Yeah, I don't waste time..
Thor: Anyway..

NBA.COM reports the Knicks trading for Fernandez.

The Knicks have acquired former Blazers guard Rudy Fernandez for guard Toney Douglas and Bill Walker.

Knicks - Heat Preview

By JEFF BARTL
Posted Nov 2 2011 12:07AM

The New York Knicks will face their first major test tonight against the powerhouse Heat.

"We beat the Heat last season and it was with high paced offense and great defense, we'll need to repeat that this season." Stoudemire said.

The Knicks will also have some new faces, including Chandler and Davis, who'll start the game according to coach D'Antoni.

"The Knicks are a tough team to beat this year, even tougher than last season" Said Udonis Haslem of the Miami Heat.

New GM Thor Trovatelli had very little to say, about the meeting between the two giants, "We'll see how it goes.."

The Knicks got outrebounded 61 to 38 as they take another tough loss, the seat under D'Antoni must be hot now.

"This was a complete wake-up call to us, we need to focus hard in training and prepare for the next match. Said D'Antoni after the game, while asked if he is still expecting to be in the coach seat for the next game, he didn't have a reply.

Thor is sitting in his office while suddenly, the office of his door makes a loud banging noise.

Dolan: THOR!
Thor jumps up from his seat, clutching to his chest.
Thor: Jesus Christ, James, you nearly killed me..
Dolan: God damn it, what the heck is going on?
Thor: I have an idea..
Dolan: What?
Thor: Well.. We need to rebound, move the ball and score better.
Thor smirks slightly.

Dolan: Get that fuc**** smirk off your face, right now..
Dolan: What do we do about it?
Thor: I'm looking at a couple of signings..
Dolan: What about the coach?
Thor: What about him? We'll get rid of him when the time comes..

Trying out a new format, not sure if I'm doing a bad job or people just aren't interested in association stories anymore - If anybody has any ideas or complaints or suggestions, the topic and my inbox are both open.
Any help or criticism would be much appreciated! :)

The Knicks trade for McGrady!

MSG has welcomed back it's former player Tracy McGrady, as Thor Trovatelli has made another controversial move for the veteran guard.

The 32 year old guard played for Pistons last season, averaging 8 points, 3.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds.

Knicks have traded Baron Davis and their 2nd round pick in the 2012 draft, while getting Tracy McGrady and the Hawks 1st round pick in the 2012 draft.

After the Pacers game, Herb Williams walks through the GM's door, sighing at the doorstep before giving it a few knocks..

Herb: ..Thor?
Thor: Yeah? Herb? Come in!

Herb sighs again, while taking a seat behind the other side of Thor's desk.

Thor: What is it?
Herb: It's about Amar'e.. I.. I'm afraid he isn't going to fit in.

Thor raises an eyebrow, before nodding - The reaction forces Herb to raise his eyebrows as well.

Thor: I know.. But listen
Thor: If we're going to trade him.. I need the permission from the board first.
Herb: I kn--..
Thor: If I get this permission, I want you to help me throughout this trade.
Herb: How?
Thor: I need you to find me a player or players to go for, it's your team now, Herb.. At least for this year.

Herb nods, standing up and walking out of the office without saying a word.

...The next day

Thor walks into the gym, during practice and shouts for Herb's name..

Thor: Herb! C'mon, it's time.

Herb converses with the assistants for a few more moments, before walking out of the gym with Thor.

Thor: I'm going in the meeting, in 20 minutes you'll have your answer about Stat.

Herb is patiently waiting outside the office door, as it creaks open, first one out is James Dolan, giving Herb a stare before starting to stomp towards his own office, next out of the door is Thor, who gives a slight nod to Herb before walking towards his office.

Thor: I expect your scouting to be done by tomorrow, 7am SHARP.

The next day, 6:54am

Herb is sitting outside on the waiting bench, as Thor pulls up to the complex in his BMW 750li

Herb: Nice car..

Thor smirks, focusing his eye on Herb's '86 LeBaron..

Thor: Yeah, you too..Heh.
Thor: C'mon, let's go.

The pair walks up to the 3rd floor, where Thor's office is located, they both grab a cup of coffee and sit behind the desk..

Thor: So?
Herb: Well, I only have one idea..
Thor: Yeah?
Herb: Suns. Nash and Hill.

Thor nearly spits out his coffee, before raising his voice.

Thor: WHAT?
Herb: Listen, they're not in their prime, I know.. But they both only have a year left on their contracts.. I need a point guard to run the show.
Herb: You said this is my team, you said you'll get any player I need.. Now c'mon.
Thor: ..Alright. Alright.. The fans ain't gonna like this though.

Herb smiles at Thor, before closing up the briefcase and standing up..

Herb: You let me worry about the fans, I'll make 'um like it.

A few days later, before the Knicks' 7 game road trip (Including the Suns), rumors start to surface around that the Knicks are dealing Amar'e for a point guard. Few hours after that, nba.com reports that the deal is done.

REPORT: Knicks deal for Suns' Nash and Hill for Stat!

The Knicks have pulled off another high profile move, as they move their Captain back to his former team for Steve Nash and Grant Hill.
According to the reports, Herb Williams requested a floor general to his team and looks like he has one of the best ever in his roster now.

Steve Nash was voted the MVP two years straight back in 2005 and 2006.
The 7 time all-star averaged 11.4 assists last season, with 14.7 points.

Grant Hill is another piece they're getting, he is thought to be brought in to provide cover for Carmelo Anthony.
Grant Hill was drafted 3rd overall back in 1994 by the Pistons.

The 7 time all-start averaged 4.2 rebounds last year, to go along with 13.2 points.

It's looking good mate. Really don't like the Nash and Hill trade, they'll retire at the end of the season. At least they'll probably retire with a ring.

I personally don't like a trade like that one at all... I also play with the Knicks and Amare's a beast. But it's up to you

Just an advice -- you might want to reduce the dimensions of the pics, that will help you (and also us) to load the page faster. Or do like me -- upload them and post the thumbnail with a link to the big pic.

Heh, I love Stat irl, but with Melo hogging up the ball, Stat was just a questionable defender. Can't trade Melo since he's hitting almost 50% from the field, compared to Stat's 38%.

I thought about the same thing about the pictures. Your feedback is much appreciated guys!
