Game 1
- Intro -
Shoot-Out versus the Rockets
The first game of the NBA regular season was a matchup of two all time rivals in the Western Conference. The Utah Jazz welcomed the Houston Rockets for a Shoot-Out in Energy Solutions Arena. Two teams in equal going-in positions, both teams missed the Playoffs, either teams lost their franchise faces in D-Will and Yao Ming last season.
A win in this game has a big importance, as both teams are supposed to fight for those last seeds to make the Playoffs this year. So it was a all or nothing atmosphere straight in the first minutes.
The Houston Rockets went for open three pointers right from the beginning. Terrence Williams, Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin almost perfect from past the arc. A poor defensive effort of the Jazz made it possible. In addition to that a huge amount of turnovers on the Jazz' side, not a good start into the game but it was not over yet.Halftime report - including NBA daily news
Despite this 17 point margin at the first half the Jazz did not let go. Reducing the amount of turnovers to 5 in the second half and starting to hit three pointers on their own, the Jazz were able to strike back and even tie the game 2 minutes before the end of 4th quarter.
Unfortunately things went wrong for the 20 yo Rookie Alec Burks from Colorado University. Burks commited a needless foul when Kevin Martin was in possession and send him to the line for save two.
Now the Jazz were not able to break and the Rockets used the clock to bring it home.

NBA- Fast Forward
"NBA Fast Forward is a quick game review of some games i played. I dont want to recap all 82 Games in detail, i prefer to pick up some of the most interesting games.
Writing down boxscores for every game can get very boring in such a long season, and it should not prevent me from playing the Game.![]()
Game 2
Memphis Grizzlies - 109
@
Utah Jazz - 84
Zach Randolph - MEM - 28pts 15reb 5ast 2stl 1blk
Al Jefferson - UTA - 17pts 13reb 4ast 3blk
Devastating loss to the Memphis Grizzlies in Game two of the regular season. Grizzlies out-rebounded the Jazz by 57 to 47. Maybe also a result of the poor shooting by the Jazz, only 38% from the field.
Game 3
Utah Jazz - 120
@
Houston Rockets - 96
Wilson Chandler - UTA - 27pts 6reb 3ast 1stl 1blk
Luis Scola - HOU - 26pts 8reb 1ast 2stl
The Jazz took revenge in Houston defeating the Rockets by a 24 point margin. This time Utah showed better defense on the outside shooters allowing only 7 threes compared to 15 threes in Game 1. This was the first victory for the Utah Jazz this season and it was very needed.
Utah is heading towards a tough eastern roadtrip including Games against the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks.

Game 4
Utah @ Miami
Jefferson domination
It was game one of a four game roadtrip against some eastern opponents. The Utah Jazz faced Dwayne Wade and his so far perfect playing Miami Heat. Miami started 3-0 into the season and were the high odds favourites in this game.
However the Jazz just came from a convincing victory against the Houston Rockets in Houston. They started with a lot of confidence into the game and surprisingly led at the half by 6 points. Lebron James and Dwayne Wade had a tough shooting performance especially in the first half. The Utah Jazz showed their talent in the paint, over and over scoring via Jefferson and Millsap.![]()
Halftime report - including NBA around the league
With a good defensive effort and a good transition in the offense the Jazz were able to keep up with the Heat until the end of the game.
Despite LeBron James found his shooting in the second half Utah did not fall away, a reason for that the colorless performances of Wade and Bosh.
Jefferson finally sealed the unexpected win, scoring 30 points with a shooting percentage of almost 67%.
