Please don't bump a topic less than 24 hours after your last post. Thanks.

I like the latest trades you made, though I probably wouldn't have made them as I generally don't like having too much talent playing behind the starters. I kind of like the idea of completely rebuilding in the offseason even though you're winning. It should keep things fresh and interesting for you.

Thanks for reading and sorry for bumping it up Andrew. Well, I just lost my first two games.

Game6: Houston Rockets 32 @ Phildadelphia 76ers 40

Player of the Game: A. Iverson: 15 points, 2 steals, 2 assists

Matchups
C: Yao Ming Antonio Derick Coleman Advantage:Ming
PF: Stromile Swift Not Sure Advantage: N/A
SF: Wes Person Glenn Robinson Advantage: Robinson
SG: Bonzi Wells Allen Iverson Advantage: Iverson
PG: Steve Francis Eric Snow Advantage: Francis

Houston Rockets
Steve Francis: 10 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists
Eric Williams: 6 points, 2 rebounds, 3 blocks
Yao Ming: 6 points, 2 rebounds

Phildelphia 76ers
Eric Snow: 10 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists
Derick Coleman: 8 points, 6 rebounds

Lost my first game of the year. Yao played a shocker grabbing only 1 rebound. Bonzi also played terrible and was taken off and benched just after half time for Eric Williams who came on and gave the team a light spark. Now sitting 5-1. Next Game: Portland

Is Bonzi Wells satisfying ? I signed him in my Dynasty but immediately traded him for Jamal Crawford, to get some cap room. Should I regret this move ?

crawford is a better outside shooter and dunker than bonzi but bonzi is a bit bigger (not taller) and stronger...has a very good inside game. so it really depends on your team .

james, try starting eric williams?

Not unlike real life, Yao just needs more touches to be effective. Call for a Post Up, feed him the ball inside and use the power dribble to get in position for a dunk (Yao can easily power it up and in over his opponent most of the time) or a short jumper, or back your opponent down and attempt a hook. You should be able to score pretty easily with Yao if you give him the opportunity to work his magic in the low post.

I try not to power dribble/hop as much as possible. It exposes the ball and the comp always goes for the steal, and I'm trying to cut down on turnovers.. :(

this is cheap, but pick and roll with Yao and the Franchise. when i did my houston franchise quite a few months ago, i ran this play a lot. it works almost all the time...it puts yao very close to the basket and the defender in a bad position. sometimes yao only has to dunk/lay it in, other times he has to back down in the post.

Fair enough. The back down/jump hook method should prove fairly effective.

i try to cut down on pro hop a lot as well... i haven't experienced that many TO's from it, but it's cheap, so I try to resist being cheap =\

Dont worry, the wins will come. It will be harder for you, as you play only 28 games and 3 minute quarters. But next season at the latest you should be able to win more games than you lose. I started the season 4-16 on superstar, but have gone 47-15 the rest of the way.

Game11: Houston Rockets 37 @ San Antonio Spurs 44

Player of The Game: Tony Parker: 13 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds

Matchups:
C: Yao Ming Nesterovic Advantage: Ming
PF: Stromile Swift Tim Duncan Advantage: Duncan
SF: Jon Barry Ron Mercer Advantage: Tied
SG: Bonzi Wells Emmanuel Ginobilli Advantage: Tied
PG: Stev Feancis Tony Parker Advantage: Francis

Houston Rockets
S. Francis: 20 points, 4 assists, 1 rebound
Y. Ming: 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks
J. Barry: 5 points, 1 rebound

San Antonio Spurs
E. Ginobilli: 16 points, 3 rebounds
R. Nesterovic: 9 points, 8 rebounds

Yao is becoming more of a role player. He isnt putting up as big numbers as he use to. Stevie showed me why he is the Franchise and Barry played solid. Stro shut down Duncan but we forgot about Parker.

Sometimes a good way to stop the comeback bear the ned is to play Full Court so they dont have time to set up for the 3, try to shut down the ball carrierm with double teams etc.

Do you put up the defensive pressure, beacuse that helps a lot especially on the guards, jst dont guard them when they have the ball, play as Yao on defense.
