Blazing Ballers: Enter Ibaka, Harden, Greatness

Well, I like to keep a backup franchise going behind my main focus, and I quit my Dallas one, so why not try out the Blazers? (Please don't expect much from this, should be similar to the Dallas one, mainly monthly recaps)

2011 NBA Draft

(Totally mock)

1. MINNESOTA - Will Waters - 6'4 223lb PG/SG - athletic point guard with lots of range, and a great decision maker, but injury prone. Incredible scorer and top-tier defender.
2. CLEVELAND - Jonathan Wilkinson - 6'11 260lb PF/SF - probably Cleveland's next LeBron, dominates down low, has range, and could play the point forward role. High potential.
3. NEW JERSEY - Trevor Davis - 6'0 170lb SG/PG - Allen Iverson type player, probably the player who will have the best rookie season of the players in this draft, but is already 24 years old.
4. WASHINGTON - Omiuge Diomuganu - 6'6 210lb SF/PF - athletic forward from Senegal, excellent shot blocker, exciting dunker but undersized for a combo-forward and has very short range on jumper.
5. SACRAMENTO - Alex Evans - 6'7 190lb SF/SG - great perimeter shooter, solid rebounder, and tremendous upside, but is an awful passer, slow, and slightly undersized.
6. DETROIT - Arthur Ackley - 6'1 175lb PG - super-quick, excellent mid-range shooter, steals the ball a ton, but his size is a problem and he struggles on the perimeter.
7. TORONTO - James Friedman - 6'8 285lb C/PF - has great hops that help him as a great rebounder, shot blocker, and dunker, but is short and overweight, and can't shoot 15-footers to save his life.
8. LA CLIPPERS - Ron Billings - 6'11 290lb C/PF - dominating big man, great shotblocker, and solid free-throw shooter, but doesn't score as much as he should.
9. CHARLOTTE - Aaron Butler - 6'9 235lb PF/SF - should be a great backup for Stephen Jackson and Boris Diaw as a good rebounder and dead-eye shooter at 15 feet, but can't hit 3s and is a bad defender.
10. MILWAUKEE - John James - 6'7 195lb SG/SF - solid scorer everywhere inside the arc, streaky outside shooter, inconsistent defender, but can be relied on as a ball-handler.
...
21. PORTLAND - Rolando Judge - 6'10 250lb PF/C - lockdown defender who defends by swatting shots, great dunker, but slow and unreliable on offense.
...
51. PORTLAND - Alexander Rattenhouse - 5'10 165lb PG - small, quick, defensive specialist, but a non-factor inside on offense, but steadily drains threes. Decent possible third string point guard.

No, dude, this is my backup behind NC Domination. I work on this when I want a short break from NC Domination, so I'm not putting much effort into it. I've got NLSCers in NC Domination. If you post your playoff predictions in NC Domination, and submit a NLSCer there in the next day or so, you can get in as an NLSCer there. (Click my sig to get to it.)

Marcus Camby Demands Trade

Sources confirmed that Marcus Camby wishes to retire when his contract ends next summer and wants to be traded to a contender for one last chance at a ring. "I want a legit shot at a ring. Like even more than I already got," Camby tweeted Wednesday. Rumors are spreading that Camby may be traded to Oklahoma City or Miami and that Miami forward Udonis Haslem and Oklahoma City forward Serge Ibaka may be on the move.

Pat Riley confirmed this on Sunday. "We're trying to work out the details; trading, it's a lot harder than many people think. Especially three- or four-way deals."

Oden Re-Signed

Injury prone center Greg Oden was re-signed by the Blazers in a surprise move. The contract is worth $3.2M/year for two years and will expire in 2013. "We are happy to announce that Greg Oden will return to the Blazers and we are confident that he can be ready to play in October."

--
Barron, Johnson, and Mills To Enter Free Agency

Earl Barron, Chris Johnson, and Patty Mills all refused to re-sign in Portland and will all enter free agency. These decisions leave the Blazers extremely thin at the center and point guard positions, as Greg Oden, Marcus Camby, Lamarcus Aldridge, and rookie Rolando Judge are the only remaining players capable of playing center. Judge and Aldridge are natural power forwards, Oden is usually on the inactive list, and Camby is a lock to leave Portland in the near future. Patty Mills' decision leaves only Andre Miller, Armon Johnson, and late second-rounder Alexander Rattenhouse at the 1. These decisions may also play a role in a Camby trade.

Camby Going To Miami in Blockbuster 11-Player Swap

The Heat, Thunder, and Blazers participated in a big swap of big-name players. James Harden, Nate Robinson, Serge Ibaka, Cole Aldrich, and Miami's Joel Anthony arrive in Portland. Udonis Haslem, Mike Miller, Nicolas Batum ,and Wesley Matthews go to Oklahoma City. Miami receives Portland's Marcus Camby and three rookies: OKC's 24th pick, 7'1 center Jonah Link; OKC's 54th pick, 6'7 forward Mark Black; and Portland's 51st pick: 5'10 point guard Alexander Rattenhouse.

Later the same day, Miami made another trade for a rookie, trading Dexter Pittman and a 2013 second round pick to Cleveland for their 32nd pick, another seven-foot center, Jared Jackson. Including Miami's own two rookies, 6'8 swingman sharpshooter Mike Morehead (28th) and 6'11 center Jarrell Ashton (58th), Miami currently has six rookies on the roster, none of which are in the top 20.

As for Portland, they lose some talent, and gain it right back. They lost a scorer in Matthews, but gained one in Harden. They lost some energy when trading Batum, but gained more in Harden, Ibaka, and Robinson. The Blazers won't miss Camby much with Ibaka and Anthony playing the 4 or 5. Portland played well.

Nah, Marcus Camby has a pretty good rating and can grab 10 rebounds a game without a problem. Haslem and Miller didn't have very good ratings and Miami needed a big center like Camby who can actually grab 10rpg. Plus they have a ton of young talent now. Although, I admit I did rip Miami off a little.
